Job Name: A Veteran's Plot, Mischief's Draught
Job Rank: B
Job Location: Reim
Job Rewards: 200 XP and 15,000 Huang
Job Overview:
As the Spymaster of Reim, you are expected to run a vast network of operatives and ensure overall operations are handled appropriately. Your rapid ascent to your position has caused you to skip various levels of the system, leaving you grossly unprepared to understand everyday operational procedures throughout the entire system. Knowing your own weakness, you have worked on learning more about the various departments and how they operate, starting from the bottom up. Your steps have taken you from the Inquisitor Maximus Cypriatus, to the Physical Instructors Kawahara Akiho and Murata Fusao, to the Troubleshooter Marinus Nerva, and now to the Treasurer Quintus Titus.
After teaching you the basics of accounting, Quintus Titus requests you check up on the books of an outpost. When you arrive, after some work and looking into matters, you find that the veteran operative has been 'cooking' the books, a term Quintus had mentioned, and has stolen from the Kou operations over his time in his position. Upon confrontation, the veteran operative attacks...

Martinus Gallus has been watching over his men as they repair the various equipment that falls under stress during operations. Approaching and speaking to him, he explains the troubles they deal with on a day-to-day basis, including things such as complacent operatives who don't look after their gear, and the difficulty of repairing some of the more important equipment due to lack of resources from their budget. Upon asking what can be done to circumvent that, Martinus points Garret out to where the raw materials are for the equipment in question. The problem is, the raw material is from an intensely strong monster, and it's dangerous for most to enter the mine in question...

Iulius Valentinus allows you to listen in on some of the Think-machine meetings Iulius has with the members within his department. Information has come through that various individuals have been watching Imuchakk ships of late in Narpolia. It looks like they are casing the shipments, but details aren't quite clear. Iulius mentions that Marinus Nerva isn't available to take care of it, and the operatives in the area are busy with the workload as it was. Iulius asks you if you would like some first-hand experience with information analyzing, and offers to send one of his junior members with you to find out what's going on. After your investigation, you find yourself ambushed by those very bandits on the road while trying to make your way back to the Villa...

Tacitus welcomes an extra hand in the planning stage of the operations. Having been required to essentially plan your own missions while acting as the lead operative of Remano, you have enough experience in the job itself. An official refresher course never hurts, though. While working out the details of a mission that would be given to one of the operatives that works under Carmen, Aurelius Junius and Lucanus Albinus enter the room and announce an emergency meeting. There have been reliable reports that one of their suppliers has resources invested in illegal markets. Corruption must be dealt with appropriately, and without Marinus Nerva available, it is up to you to spearhead this operation. Kill the leader and his followers.
