OOC:

The following is a brief synopses of the aftermath of the events that took place with Heliohapt, as well as what the events of the Heliohapt nation are discussed and known of by the people in general. This will be several posts in length.

P.M. Garret if you would like to post here in order to discuss details of what your post would be about. At this point, it would have to be something large scale that would effect the actions of many. Otherwise, look forward to the thread being open for the next event, which won't have the same 'scale' requirement that I had mentioned in the sentence just before~

The Pharaoh had died, buried beneath rubble while choking on a manjuu without any chance for help. With the loss of a leader, someone had to step forward and take action in order to ensure the people were able to lead their day-to-day lives. In order to make sure that life, as they knew it, could move on. The High Priests of the Gods Ra and Anubis sent forth messengers in order to give news to their new Pharaoh, informing him of his father's death. They would have to wait until he arrived.

While they waited, however, it was up to the High Priests of the Gods to manage the city until such a time as the new Pharaoh, descendent of the gods, took his rightful place amongst their people. There were 5 High Priests from the various temples of Anubis and Ra that were upon the forefront of running the city and its people. Garai, High Priest of Ra in the Grand Central Temple who lead the council. Akhenaten, High Priest of Anubis in the Grand Central Temple who worked towards maintaining daily peace. Khaldun, High Priest of Ra in the Southern Temple provided a great deal of suggestions and discourse while the High Priests made decisions on how to handle various matters. Musin, High Priest of Ra in the Northern Temple maintains the military of the city. Seth, High Priest of Anubis in the Northern Temple watched over the markets and their trade.

A heavy atmosphere of sorrow and grief lingered in the wake of the destruction that had occurred only days ago. Where houses and loved ones had stood not even a week ago, there was now nothing as if some cruel void had snatched them away. Yakuroro had spent the last few days looking for his adoptive son, but his eyes found only the emotionally beaten populous and the weight of their despair settled heavily on his mind. Some shed tears for the loss of their leader, the great Pharaoh, who seemed loved by all. Some mourned for the loss of closer souls. Friends, family...sons and daughters. The destruction the possessed child had wrought across the city took all indiscriminately. Unable to find his own adoptive chimera of a son, Akatetsu, Yakuroro was fearful that the baby bonehead had been among the deceased despite having found evidence to suggest otherwise. But the Blue Magician held onto hope recognizing the importance of doing so. Alas, finding strength for himself would not be enough...

There were many grieving citizens gathered around one of the larger scenes of devastation where the buildings and land had been removed as if erased from existence. A small memorial had since been erected at its center where several people had come to cry or pray. From a nearby abandoned building, Yakuroro activated his djinn equip in a solemn voice and wrapped himself in invisibility as he stepped out of the second story window and flew several meters above ground coming to stop just over the shrine dedicated to the dead. The unseen King Vessel's eyes scanned the large crowd of pious folk and rose his greatsword as a wave of magoi surged through his body along with a sensation of righteousness that told him that this was the right thing to do even though any who knew the truth of it might condemn it as blasphemy.

"Marx Canvas."

Those with their heads down in prayer would soon find themselves looking up as a commotion spread throughout the throng of people. A shroud of dark mist would begin to spread and from it, a pair of 10m tall figures rose. Back to back, two large illusions in the likeness of Ra and Anubis emerged, one golden as the sun he embodies and the other a cold dark blue like the icy grip of death.

The illusory deities looked down over their people and the two began rotating in place so all who were present would find themselves under the eyes of both gods. It was a slow turn as if each individual present was being given the time of their own unique visual exchange. The first to speak was Anubis, the gods voice sounding faded and warped as though many spoke through him.

"Son and Daughters of Heliohapt...We are sorry for you loss. Do not worry for I have ensured that every soul that was taken by the demon has been recovered and weighed. All who passed during the festival have come to find peace and rest in paradise without exception."

Further words of reassurance would then come from Ra, his own voice much more clear and booming.

"Death and Creation have always been two sides of the same coin. For all our power what has been done can not be unwritten. But with great loss there shall be equal bounty. Stand, O' people of our descendant's country! Look forward to a future where the pain of today is a foundation for creation tomorrow! Rebuild your country into greatness like it has never known before!"

The two gods then shone brightly with a blinding light before fading away leaving no trace that they had even been there in the first place aside from the memories left behind in the countless people who had been present.

With his job complete, Yakuroro flew back into the abandoned building and disengaged his djinn equip before turning to look out of the window to see the peoples reactions.

When the gods appeared the people were stunned. Looks of sheer reverence fell upon the face of many, and they immediately went to the ground and bowed in respect for the gods Anubis and Ra. The Priests were among the first that had shown their respect for the heavenly beings. Listening to the words of these gods, the crowd's spirits were slightly uplifted. White Rukh began to flow out and about the group. Their faith in fate and their faith in their religion being substantiated greatly by the appearance of the two gods. It was a silent and momentous occasion.

The Priests began immediately sending out messengers to the various High Priests, informing them of the situation. The closest High Priest available was High Priest Garai who, upon arrival, immediately designated the place a Holy Ground, next to which a new temple would be created. The many of the people were in very high spirits.

From the crowd came two men; a young looking warrior alongside a top-hat wearing fellow. The High Priest saw the warrior, and immediately bowed. "People of Heliohapt! Garai shouted, claiming the attention of many. "The son of our late Pharaoh, soon to be our newly crowned Pharaoh, has made his appearance!"

Prince:

Top-Hat Gentleman:

"I am Ramses Nikedaius Massri II, and this is my appointed Vizier; Gilbert, who has guided me and taught me various things of the other country's ways. It is my hope that I may govern my people and lead them to prosperity!"
The prince introduced himself to the people, explaining that he was there for them now, in their time of need, to lead them to brighter future while simultaneously naming his Vizier. Some of the black Rukh that had been floating about aimlessly began to slowly change back over to white. The only strange thing was the black Rukh that floated about the man named Gilbert; it did not change back.

Nobody there had an inkling that the prince before them was an imposter.

-----------Elsewhere, in the Marketplaces------------

The Markets and plazas were beginning to show signs of progress in repairs. There were rumors about, however. Rumors about a great many things. Some said that the cause of this destruction was a mere child who seemed possessed by some kind of demon. Some whispered that there were Magicians that confessed of a man who went by the name 'Jagang', forcing the Magicians to work with him and creating explosives. There were also rumors of the escaped slaves being led by a group of Fanalis, desperately making their way to Reim.

There were other rumors, fantastical and filled with hope that followed these rumors that caused hatred, sadness and despair in the hearts of many of the people of Heliohapt. Rumors of a compassionate masked man who had lead many people in the resulting chaos of the slaves escaping. Rumors of a destructive battle between two Imuchakk, the Great Asisiak and Asisiak's warrior, against a giant dark demon. There were also rumors of a Kou Prince's appearance, causing the hearts of some of the young women to flutter.

The newest rumor of the Gods appearance, as well as the return of their prince and soon-to-be anointed Pharaoh, burst throughout the market places in a joyous occasion.

An old man with a gnarled staff and a hood covering his face looked over the busy marketplace with a dark smile. "Lance... Lance was it?" the old man chuckled before turning around, disappearing into the crowd.

~Outskirts of Heliohapt: Heart of The Desert of Forgotten Souls~

The scene begins with a view of the sun basking it's blistering rays down upon the sands of the Esteemed desert to whom many have been swallowed. The feint neighing of Horses along with a rhythmic stomping which gradually grew evermore so audible. Originating from just over the horizon of the steep sand dunes a large mass of constant movement blurred into view. Materializing like a mirage produced by the dehydrating heat waves bouncing off the desert sands would be hundreds of men, soldiers by the looks of their armor. Marching in complete unison while horse powered chariots carrying Archers patrolled the outer perimeters of the small army vigilantly. Four large flags could be seen towards the center of the group, each with a different animal insignia on them. They were attached to four all black steeds who carried four well robed men glittered with bejeweled accessories. They surrounded a marvelous bejeweled Golden litter Fixed upon the backs of two gargantuan serpents.

"We Have Arrived your highness, your longly awaited home the glorious and brilliant kingdom of Heliohapt lies just over yonder! May it forever prosper!!!"

Would exclaim the robed man riding at the front corner of the litter as the Giant gold architectural marvels came glistening into view from afar. This was the fabled Golden city at the heart of the most fearsome Desert the great country of Heliohapt born under the Shining God Ra and resting above the Ghastly God Anubis. As the army marched into the kingdom the locals would all gather around in rejoice. Instantly kneeling into conceding bow the roars of people rumbling feircely through the kingdom as they made their way towards the palace. Men and woman, children and the elderly all rejoiced with praise and dance at the arrival of the new pharaoh. All but one, his skin was heliohaptian though on a slightly lighter hue then the average native. He wore a dirtied silk vest with matching dirtied pants and a rather large white snake coiled around something hanging from two straps horizontally from his shoulders rested along his lower back, its body completely obscuring the item from view. A  red scarf wrapped around into a keffiyeh so only his ocean like multicolored blue eyes could be seen was fixed around his head. A few sapphire highlighted white bangs stuck out from under the keffiyeh as he looked out onto the rejoicing people and the returning soldiers escorting the 'Prince'.

"Hmph, so it seems I haven't been found out yet! Good I wasn't ready to return to that Place yet, with Father dead there wasn't anyone I to anxious to see there anyway. . . "

Standing in the back of the crowd for a few more moments his eyes following the Royal litter the 'prince' would be in. The shadowy silhouette of the veiled royal could vaguely be seen through the velvet cover as the suns rays basked down from the clear skies.

"I owe you all thanks. . ."

He would say to himself before moving along shifting through the festive townspeople. Though his eyes were his only indication of emotion, they spoke volumes of how amazed and dumbfounded he was by the great countries beauty. The Large well sculpted statues of the countries praised Gods towering like giants throughout the city along with many other dazzling Golden and bejeweled buildings including obelisk and pyramids. He'd read and studied of the architecture of the city but he'd never seen any of it in person.

His twinkling eyes darting all over as he wandered/admired his way towards the Market district of the city. Stopping as he found himself within a Bazaar, surrounded by many of the common people.
A King who does not know his people cannot truly call himself a King, To rule justly and properly he must know of his peoples desires and aspirations and keep their trust at heart. A King who does not know his people can never call himself a King. . .
These thoughts ran through the mind of the masked young Heliohaptian as he continued on his way through the Bazaar.

~The Golden Palace: Main Entrance ~

Having Reached the main stairway of the Palace one of the four robed men riding close to the Royal litter carrying the Prince would reach towards the velvet curtain covering the sides of the Litter.

"My highness we have arrive. . .eh! Ahhhh!!!!"

Yanking away at the veil the flabbergasted robed man would reveal unto the others a rather large serpent robed in the Princes' garments. The startled serpent would hiss at the man extending it's tattooed hood doing away with the royal silk robes that disguised it. This would reveal many more smaller snakes slithering out from the clothing  escaping from the open sides of the litter. The screeching man's black steed frightened by the reptiles jeered back on it's hind legs knocking the man off in complete terror. Soldiers would come running from within the palace to meet and apprehend the origin of the chaos spears first, to which they would find the robed men and other soldiers bewildered with snakes slithering throughout their ranks along the sands.

"What is going on!"

"The Prince had been devoured by Snakes!!!"

Looking at each other first the newly arrived soldiers would begin to snicker before returning their attention to the frightened group of men at the bottom of the stairway.

"His Majesty, Has already arrived to the palace. Hehehahaha Your actually a day late, he arrived yesterday with his new Vizier Lord Gilbert. "

Standing confused the man would look at the other soldiers trying to make sense of it all, he was sure they'd been escorting him this whole time.

"He must've went on ahead by himself, you know how his Majesty is, the snakes are proof enough. Now BACK TO YOUR STATIONS!!!"

Would reassure another of the four robed man as the others would regain composure and followed their orders. I mean there was no other explanation than this right?

--------------Meanwhile, inside the Palace--------------

Moments after the commotion occurred outside of the Palace, one of the guards returned. He bowed to his Pharaoh, getting down on one knee and casting his gaze to the floor. "Sire, your escort has arrived on this day. They were surprised by the snakes that were left in your place..." His tone was neutral, careful to not sound judgmental while also careful to not sound approving. Either could be taken in an inappropriate fashion, and the man was trained and disciplined to show respect to the station his Pharaoh currently held. He finished his report in regards to the escort, and how they had returned to their posts after being assured that he was fine and in good health.

The Vizier, Gilbert, whispered into the Pharaoh's ear. The guard didn't like the looks of the man too much; he was a pale man who wore outlandish clothing and wasn't a man from Heliohapt. Who ever heard of a Vizier such as this? Again, the guard was careful not to show such emotions on his face. The Pharaoh spoke, in a slightly saddened tone. "I see. Very well. I was thinking I had gotten here a bit more ahead of them than that... Their speed is impressive." The Pharaoh dismissed the guard, and held a private audience with his Vizier.

Once the guards had left, and it was just the Imposter Pharaoh and Gilbert, the Pharaoh spoke up once again. "Gilbert, what does this mean? I thought you had him taken care of..." The imposter was confused, and his voice betrayed a slight hint of fear. It was apparent between Gilbert and the Pharaoh that he was speaking of the individual he was impersonating. It was soon cleared up, however, when he had made an assumption without any affirmation to it. "Ah! You took care of it by having him devoured by snakes! Ha. Magic is impressive. You know I count on your wisdom and help to guide me. But just remember, we're trying to bring hope to the people, so don't do too much of that stuff, okay?"

Gilbert simply smiled at the man, nodding. "Indeed, Sire. It has all been taken care of. There should be no need to worry about your station."

-------------Hours later-------------

Gilbert stood before a strange crystal ball. He spoke a name to it softly, and an image within it appeared. "The true Pharaoh has returned." Gilbert's voice held a hard edge to it. "You told me he was taken care of. We were only half fortunate, in that he didn't appear from the Litter right then and there, and we would have to explain ourselves or come up with some sort of elaborate lie. But half of me wishes that were the case, so we could have executed him on the spot."

Gilbert paused, as if listening to something. The man seemed to be speaking, but the conversation was transmitted directly to Gilbert's ears, and his ears alone. "Enough of your excuses. Get men out there, and look for this man. We need to stop him at all costs. He will not be nearly so... Malleable to our purposes as the man currently ruling Heliohapt."

Gilbert cut off the communication from the orb, and walked over to the balcony that was two stories off the ground. He looked over the city and contemplated their next move...
