Marsun stood within a small clearing among the trees of the forest along the outskirts of the city of Reim. He stood brandishing his prized spear Sirocco, the onyx steel of the blade glimmering in the sunlight. Beads of sweat trailed down the exposed skin of the young man's neck and abdomen. It was clear to see that he was in extraordinary shape, his physique perfectly chiseled thanks to natural heredity and the training he received from his father. His chest heaved slowly and his mouth hung open with each labored breath he took. Although it was unclear exactly how long he had been within this place, just from the film of sweat that shined upon his skin and the condition of the clearing around him it was safe to assume that his training had been quite intensive. He often spent quite a bit of time honing his spear fighting abilities, though he also never neglected his own hand-to-hand combat prowess. He gave a low grunt then flourished the spear in a quick and fluid motion before planting the spear into the ground. Cracking his knuckles, he tensed the muscles briefly within his legs, causing the ground beneath his bare feet to crack and crater down slightly from the force. Exhaling slowly, he shifted his footing and adopted a balanced combat stance, a focused scowl furrowing his brow. He then began to perform a skillful display of martial arts and acrobatics, each physical strike generating a small gust of wind from the amount of force behind the blow while each time he landed from an acrobatic maneuver resulted in the ground being cracked beneath his feet. With one deceptively forceful stomp, Sirocco was dislodged from the ground and sent spinning upward into the air. In one fluid series of motions, Marsun reached his hand upward and grip the spear before flourishing it once more and proceeding to blend the expert spear fighting of the Vajra Spear School into the both self-taught and learned martial arts that he possessed. As with his unarmed physical strikes, each swing or thrust of his spear created a small gust of wind from the force of the movement. It was clear that Marsun possessed incredible skills, but there was always room for improvement....and he knew that. With a final leap, Marsun spun then quickly slammed the blade of the spear to the ground, cleaving a large swath into the ground while also smashing the ground beneath him in a spiderweb of cracks upon landing. Sighing lowly, Marsun dislodged the spear from the ground and simply held it idly at his side. He then lowered his glowing scarlet gaze and looked at the reddened and slightly callused palm of his free hand before clenching it into a fist.
"It's still not enough....but it's a start I guess. Hopefully I can get stronger and meet up with a magician soon." He whispered in a hushed tone as he lowered his hand and turned his gaze skyward. Noticing that the day was drawing to a close, Marsun gave a small twist of his wrist which held Sirocco, causing the spear to slacken and divide into four chained together sections. He then folded the spear and placed it into its sheathe on his back before heading back towards town.
