Hunger (job/plot)

Babi was now out of the city he had spent his whole life in but now he was in a place that was arguably more dangerous than the last. The desert was not a place of vast vegetation, water or shelter. The sun would get scorching hot during the day and after sunset it would get freezing cold due to the went and lack of structures or trees. Also, the fauna that inhabit this land have become hardened and dangerous in order to survive the harsh climates. Like them he would have to adapt and evolve to the ecosystem, but he did not have hundreds or thousands of years to do so.

His body would begin to shake and make overwhelming noises as his hunger grows louder and more prominent. He would need to focus on this more than any of the other aspects of survival. Water and shelter were definitely higher up on the list of importance in normal situations, but for Babi he needs sustenance immediately.

He had never tried eating something that was living since he was never healthy enough to chase them down but now he had a chance. He would avoid the plants since he was not sure that they could help much since he was not sure which ones would be edible and which were not. SO for the moment he would focus on some smaller animals. They would be more frequent than larger creatures and he could have a better chance at catching and killing them.

In his smallest form he would bury his whole body under the sand besides the upper portion of his face so he could see, his tongue darting out from underneath the sand occasionally. He was not sure how he knew to do this but it just instinctually felt like the right course of action to take. Creatures would constantly use this type of technique for hunting their prey. The trapdoor spider and the ant lion are good examples of this method of hunting.

After close to an hour, the man snake would spot mouse nearby him. He would not strike at the smaller animal however. He would continue to wait until a falcon would swoop down to catch the mouse in its razor sharp claws. As soon as he begins to grasp the mouse, Babi would launch at the bird, growing till he was big enough to wrap his mouth around the bird of prey, thinking bone crushing fangs and teeth into the falcon. The bird would of course try to struggle and kill the prey that struck it. But this would be proven futile as Babi’s mouth fully encases the bird, swallowing it whole.

The predator had been greedily consumed by the predator who was cleverer, as well as the prey that was initially ignored. This would cause the hunger to die down and become easier to deal with and ignore. Yet the hunger did not go away, not even a meal larger than anything he has ate before could sate it. In fact, it seemed like the flavor of the bird had caused his hunger to grow a bit after being quelled a little. He would have to worry about that later for his instincts and eyes were screaming danger!
