Description: An Institution that once was a sect of the Magnostadt Academy, but during the Kou Civil War, left. It is an Institution outside of the country of Balbadd, with a small town of goi living outside. The Institution is an autonomous zone. Its specialty is martial combat, enchanting weapons to better melee combat prowess, and strength magic.
Its students dress within dark garbs or robes, but the official graduated members tend to be suited within armor, completing jobs for their town or Various Nations under the guise of Mercenaries to help fund the Institution. It seceded from the Academy due to disputes on whether or not Magnostadt should receive refugees from the Kou Civil War, due to certain sentiments within the hierarchy of the Academy but also due to the strong bias against the Goi.
Its teachings are rooted within occult beliefs that originated within Reim long ago. It is rumored by some that the Institution studies certain occult history to better understand lost magic types that have long been understudied. However, a few of the Academy students have perpetuated rumors that what the Institution is studying is far more sinister. It is unknown whether or not this is true.
Leaders:
- Yin:
Name: Yin
Tier: Omega
Class: Magician | Warrior
Description: A notorious Magician who has trained with the blade since young, being a Warrior first. Via experiments, and extensive testing by Albruna, Yin is capable of casting spells with his specially crafted magic blade. Yin was one of the Academy's most famous combat-versed mages, but ultimately left due to the disagreements with the rest of the Academy staff.
Yin is an older Kounan man who is rather serious, and foreboding, but warms up with his closest peers, but strict with his students, treating classes like military regimens. His magic specialties are strength, dark, sound, and psychic. Yin utilizes elite level swordsmanship that is made more devastating by his spells.
- Albruna:
Name: Albruna
Tier: A
Class: Magician | Body Manipulator
Description: Albruna is a highly intelligent researcher that once helped the Academy study occult history or magic. Hailing from a nearly extinct witch culture within Reim where male and female mages practiced the occult with occult beliefs, Albruna is highly spiritual, and has unique views on the rukh. Albruna is the mastermind of the Institution and leads research, while Yin leads the practical ends regarding combat. In particular, Albruna has been very intrigued at the prospect of deities, trying to uncode the various histories of worshipped deities. Her magic specialities are strength, life, sound, psychic, and intelligence. Albruna is an expert on Alma Torran language, having studied the language extensively.
Members: All members of this faction will either fall under two categories: students or offical graduates. If one hopes to graduate, they must enroll within a two to three year course, before then being placed within the official rankings of the Institution as either Black Mage mercs or researchers.
Yin leads the mercs, while Albruna leads the research ends of the Institution. It is encouraged for Black Mages to reside within the town of Cantare, but are not obligated, especially for mercs. Black Mages of the Institution are prone to minor discrimination within Magnostadt city.
It is not uncommon for them to be seen as cultists due to their magic roots stemming from a nearly extinct witch culture from Reim. However, they are far from cultists, and are typically atheists, being very pro magic science, but are spiritual with regards to the rukh.
