ZUZU MANSUR
Even as Zubaidah interrogated the Spiders, Trajan was lost within this world of honey-sweet subterfuge. ‘Who are these Spiders?’ She had forgotten that Fulvia’s sort were based within the underside of polite society, scuttling about where the Society would not look to search. ‘It would be worse for you to know…’ She could not allow the Spiders to infect someone else unrelated with their feud, so she whispered honey-sweet words into Trajan’s ears and made sure, ‘So why don’t you forget about them?’
‘Consider them rivals from another agency.’ It was not entirely false, was it? ‘An intelligence agency of sorts.’ It was true in some sense, but she still felt wrong. ‘I can’t allow them to access any of the Society’s information, but this agency cannot know that their men failed.’ Even if she thought it wrong, it was all the more necessary to protect him.
As he began to question how Zubaidah might do this, she brought a hand towards the forehead of each Spider in turn, and repeated a phrase under her breath. He could not quite hear what words she had said, but it sounded something like ‘you will remember that you succeeded’ to his ears. So what did she hope to achieve in repeating some phrase or other? Did she think that they would just take it to heart? Why did she not consider that it would go in one ear and out the other?
As he pondered this, Zubaidah beckoned him over and gestured towards something bright upon her hand. ‘Were you wondering about this?’ When he looked closer, Trajan could see a ring shining around one of her fingers. ‘I don’t think you will remember what happened today, will you?’ As she brought her hand towards his forehead, Trajan realised that Zubaidah had been using a magic tool, that of a ring, on each Spider - and now himself.
As though he was waking from an afternoon nap, Trajan asked through long yawns, ‘Now that we have finished the Magister’s work, what then shall you do, lady Zubaidah?’ She looked him dead in the eye, and spoke honey-sweet words, ‘My work here is finished as well, so I must move on, as I have always done.’
‘Well, I am glad that the Magister’s deal was beneficial at least! But if I may be so bold, might I ask where you are going?’
‘I suppose out of the country?’ She had intended to sort through the Society's files with Amnet once arrived in Parthevia. ‘Some foreign business then?’ But he had inspired her with thoughts on how she could remove herself from Reiman troubles entirely. ‘Yes, a foreign business indeed…’ And turn the tables on the Spiders in the process.
‘Well, the Society shall await your return with eagerness.' A laugh escaped her scarlet lips, ‘I wouldn’t be too eager if I were you!’

‘Then how could you solve this?'
‘We need it to seem as though their men succeeded.'

‘The work was a tad too exhausting, wasn’t it?’
Yes, it was wrong, but it was also necessary for both their safety.
‘It has been a long week…’

- Sugar and Spice:
- Trait Name: Sugar and Spice
Trait Tier: A Tier
Trait Description: The character has an extensive knowledge of medicinal plants and their side-effects, knowing that their scents can induce negative effects when affecting olfactory functions. As such, they have learned to change the properties of their personal scent, or musk, by the constant ingestion of specific plants. Their musk includes a psychoactive component that creates a hypnotic effect increasing awareness of scents, thus making their own artificial ones induce more powerful effects when mingled with their musk. They have also become resistant to these effects after rigorous testing and ingestion of the ingredients.
Trait Effect: The character has a unique musk that radiates two metres around herself. In social situations, this musk creates a hypnotic effect on targets within its range, making them more susceptible to the character’s requests. In combat situations, it acts as a one post disorientation. If she uses a scent she has crafted on herself, this musk combines and assimilates the effects into her own musk, granting an additional B Tier effect (determined upon scent creation) in place of the disorientation effect. If she uses an attack or ability with a weapon in contact with her body (or her body itself), the musk (and scent if used) will travel an additional two metres from the endpoint (unless specified in an ability). She is immune to the effects of her musk and any scents combined into it.
- Primary Profession:
Profession Title: Information Broker / Master Detective
Description: With connections formed anywhere and everywhere, Zubaidah has one hand in politics and the other in business. She uses those connections to collect and distribute information, earning her favours from individuals and organisations. She does not depend upon her connections, however, since she has found herself expert at information-brokering herself. With time spent in poverty and luxury, she is familiar with all manner of secrets and corruption, making her wary of criminal activity. Indeed, she has honed her investigative skills to such an extent that she has earned the right to call herself a ‘master detective’.
Profession Perks:- Nose for Crime:
Zubaidah has connections high and low, having informants within upper-class society and the underworld alike. She can use these connections to scope out jobs and assignments within her current region, so long as her position within the region is well-grounded. As such, at the end of each month, when she fulfils the conditions for an AC check (four threads in the region she wishes to scope), she may gain some information from that region - but only one region. The requirements and benefits for these connections are as follows: - (D Tier) - she must have a D Tier Company presence in the region / she may investigate one D Tier job or assignment in the same region
- (C Tier) - she must have a C Tier Company presence in the region / she may investigate one C Tier’s worth of job or assignments in the same region (i.e. she could investigate two D Tiers)

She has a heightened awareness of her surroundings, able to uncover and analyse the most hidden or banal of clues. As such, she may use this advantage to recall small details and piece them together into a larger narrative. This allows her to have a quicker and easier time dealing with criminal cases and other puzzles.- Silver Tongue:
Over the years, Zubaidah has learnt that lies and manipulations are the most useful tools under her belt. She has become skilled with words from palace and slum, stage and street, learning how people talk and respond. Indeed, it has been very useful in dealing with criminals, since she speaks their language, and she has used it to her benefit more than often. This allows her to have an easier time with putting across lies as truth and identifying lies in spoken information.- Nose for Crime:
