Julius sat across from Yurameshie, that had finished setting up their caping equipment. Like always the two of them would be ready to train their bodies as Julius climbed the ladder of his warrior ranks. He had come accustomed to using his blades, the one he got from Kina, the magical one he had come across, and now the magoi blade he had. They all had the same fashion of use, they all had designs that were similar to each other besides his Magoi Blade. The point was it did not matter which of the three blades he would use in combat, all three would serve him the same.
For these next few weeks, Yurameshie would have Julius practicing parries nonstop, much like when he was learning to swing a sword he had to do 1,000 parry strikes against Yurameshie. After the Parry strikes, he had Julius practice his swings and drawing much like when he was new to the art. He would say things like the basics are the most important things a swordsman could learn and those who forgot them would be struck down. After lunch and tea and planning of the future, they would then spar with wooden training swords to improve the instincts and pass on the knowledge from Yurameshie to Julius. After the two weeks of sword training, Julius had felt he had learned and mastered the two new strikes shown to him by Yurameshie. He was positive they would serve him well in the future.
The sparring season was brutal and painful even for the Lich like creature. There were many of lessons to be learned with each season of sword sparring. Often times Yurameshi had an answer for each strike Julius would attempt, or when he finally would parry a blow he would find the sword trainer would step and twirl out the way opening up the dark king to a side blow. This did not discourage the Dungeon beast in the least, however. In fact, it showed Julius Plageruis that while he was indeed a teacher of magic he was still a student of the blade. There would not be anything that would not be taught that he could not master and improve upon.
The Skeletal Lord would already have the gears of his mind working overtime, he knew if he relied on his magic he could easily best Yurameshi in a spar however, this would defeat the purpose of the training and cause his skills with the sword to falter and eventually be worthless and fail him when he needed them most. No instead Julius would bare the burden and put in the hard work so that his sword skills would become just as good as the skills of his magic. He could summon a Plague, a typhoon, huge and brutal spells that could level cities and change the ecosystem for months to years. His sword skills needed to be equal to that on the battlefield where a single sword swing could cut down a general or elite soldier and end the battle.
