Find out the source of corruption with Reim, find out who is trying to undermine the nation during its reformation. 2. Track the dissenters of the nation, figure out or deal with anti-republic sentiments within Reim. 3. With the council being new as a governing body it is still vulnerable, there are those targeting it to cripple or control the nation, investigate the cause or source of this.
Basilius' final warning to Zion was about the insects that had been attacking his crops. Similar bites were found on corpses of councilmen found killed recently. It seemed that some player in this great game was controlling insects to handle the dirty work. Zion agreed that it was possible if a magician or magic tool were behind the attacks. A few days later, Zion would have time to investigate this claim and asked around about the dead councilmen. The death of a councilman was a huge deal as they were not as many in number as the senators so the news was still somewhat hot on the minds of the people of Reim.
Zion learned that the attacks had all happened a few days apart and in the victim's own homes. Not even the families are spared if they happen to be present. Zion snuck into one of the homes where the murders had happened. The estate remained empty for the time as all heirs had died in the attack. Zion arrived hidden under a Sight Bend Coat to find that there were still faint stains of blood found across the now mostly empty room. Zion knelt down and used Seeking Seer on the bed in order to project the history of its surroundings. His spell allowed him to grasp the entire room as the rukh formed a screen to display the murder of the councilmen and his family.
The magician hoped that his clairvoyance spell would reveal some sign of the culprit or clue to where they could be found such as identifying the breed of insect. Zion watched the scene of the murder grimly. The sights made him feel nauseous but he endured to the end. After the spell, the youth stood there quietly. Such a horrific death, the youth wouldn't wish it upon even his arch nemesis, Karnel Klien. The longer the culprit behind the attacks remained at large, the more of such tragedies might occur, and perhaps worse. Zion left and retired to think on what he had seen.
