Cat & Dog [Plot/Training/Solo]

“Hey, Koinu.” A bored voice was coming from a girl with a cat ear as she laid her back on the ground. Her cat ears’ color was the same as her hair, as white as a snow but it seemed contrasting with her blood colored eyes. Well, the girl never really cared about her appearance to be honest, especially when she never really looked into a mirror for several years, not because she didn’t want to but she just didn’t have any mirror in her cage. Yes, you heard that right. A cage. That was where she lived for years, just like a pet for her family. But then again, she hated every time she had to go out from her place, because she would be forced to attend a boring ceremony just to keep the image of the family as the oldest child. Just thinking about her past made she wanted to vomit…

A floating dog with a strange body would be approaching his master and stopped when he was close enough. The girl would place her hand on her companion before giving him a pet, caressing the ghostly dog with affection. Well, she had quite a soft spot towards Koinu but hey, she had no one accompanying her when she was caged all those years, so it was understandable. After all, for a villain wannabe like her, having a liiitle bit of soft spot would be required.

“Alright, we gotta train. Let’s do the old thing again. You will have to go hunting, use your senses, your poisonous saliva and your instinct.” She would stare at the floating dog, pausing her words, making sure he understood what she was saying. “But this time, I will come along with you since I am not imprisoned anymore.” The dog would be very delighted as if he understood what she said, he would float around with his body, creating circle before flying around Higanbana.

Because the dog had done the hunting for many times, he was pretty used to the drill. The hunting session wasn’t really hard, although he admitted with his body language that it was more difficult this time around because the area that Higan assigned for them was much wider than before. Usually Koinu would hunt around the Fuyuhana family estate, but this time, the white haired girl wanted the hunting to be around the mountain. However, Koinu was more than happy to oblige to his master’s wish. He would his abilities more, trying to increase his sense so he could track their prey better and to fly better. Although… he was more worried about Higanbana at the moment. She gave up after participating in the hunt for one day and she bailed out on the next day and even the whole week. However, Koinu knew by instinct that he had to be better to be able to protect his master, so he went to train alone, polishing his senses and his body movements as well as using his saliva to bring down his prey.

“Good job, you’ve trained for the whole week!” Higanbana would praise her companion, although she knew herself that she had to quickly gain her strength by getting all the needed nutrients for her body. But she would call it a day for now since Koinu had successfully trained himself with a visible result.
