It all would seem dire at the moment, however, once Noir would turn around she would see that there still was a way out. On the inside, there was what looked like a key embedded within the door. It would only take a simple twist and the door would reopen itself for her. The underground chamber was a sight to behold for the assistant professor, it was intricately carved stone, old but with clear additions and upkeep to it.

There inside it felt like catacombs as the cool air would flow around her, it encapsulated the area that she was in. There was only one large door on the other side, it seemed to operate in the same manner as the exit behind her. With the knowledge, Noir had she would be able to tell that this was like a checkpoint of sorts, at the center of the room she would notice something odd.

Taking up a large portion of the room, and the only thing of decoration on the floor in front of her was a large table, it looked like a map, but it kept shifting like it was made from liquid. However, if she looked up close she could see it was iron sand being shaped lit by a source above. Hanging above the metal shifting map was a crystal prism that glowed, lighting up a room at a small room being formed at the edge of the map, which could be assumed where she was. It was obvious that it was some sort of magic tool related to the labyrinth but there was also obviously some secrets left to it.

What would the woman decide to do, and where would she end up going in this maze, there was plenty for her to discover and the choices were hers to make.

The magician's eyes sparkled when she finally entered the labyrinth. It felt like one of her bucket list was coming true for her and she felt happy that she was able to achieve one of the things she wanted to do. "Go look around and let me know if there's anything, okay?" She would say softly to Haku as she looked around to memorize the whole area, just in case. Behind her was the exit door and at the other side, there was another door.

She would also notice a large table within the room and when she approached it, she would notice something magical. It was something that looked like a map made from a liquid that kept shifting, although when she looked closer, turned out it was made from iron sand. The magician tilted her head as she stared towards the map, remembering all the changes that surely would be able to help her when she need to find a way.

However, being a curious scholar, Noir would raise her hand, close enough to the map. She wouldn't touch the iron sand, at least not yet. But she would try to feel it to figure out the magic used to operate the map. In another hand, Haku who was told to look around, would do what his master had commanded. He would carefully explore the area, hoping to find something.

At first the air above the map would feel still and almost eerily so, however if she let her hand linger she would feel a slight tingling sensation along with her hands. It wasn't painful and it wasn't anything more than just a tickling static that danced along her arm hairs raising them up on her skin. The map would continue with its shifting, there seemed to be no disturbance or interaction as her skin got closer to the sand as it left only more questions rather than answers at the moment.

It might've seemed frustrating for someone like Noir who constantly put their efforts towards deciphering the secrets of the world around and beyond her. Yet, unlike most situations, she didn't find clues upon her probing of the environment around her. Was it due to a failure on her own part, nothing to discover, or perhaps even that there just wasn't enough for her to go off of yet. However, there was one more facet she had yet to explore though she could be certain where it would. The door at the other end of the room, which would seemingly lead her into the labyrinth that she sought access to.

It would sit there tauntingly like something that would answer some of her questions, but would most definitely also lead her away from this place where she wouldn't be able to observe the map.

The raven haired magician felt the tickling static sensation on her finger, but nothing changed on the map as it continued to shift. Noir decided to stare at the map and used her photographic memory to remember it, knowing it would be useful for her as she went deeper into the labyrinth. Noting that there might be nothing that she could do at the moment, she wondered if she should just go to the door at the other side of the room.

But she remembered the sensation that she felt when she was observing the map, the static feeling... It might be operated by some kind of magnetic magic, but she could try to figure out about that more later when she had a free time. Now it would be more important to continue her journey. So she approached the door with her liger and proceeded to enter if she could.

As soon as Noir would get close to the door she would suddenly feel a shiver along her body. Then just as quickly as she made the move to investigate she would feel a shock run through her body and the door would turn from a solid to a liquid before it would suddenly suck her through. It was instant as she would suddenly see herself in another room with the door behind her in a semi-liquid state that didn't seem to go away no matter how much time would pass. It seemed like the door would stay open for her should she choose to go back.

In front of her was a long corridor that would stretch and pull like the light at the edge of a gravity well, it was just an illusion but it was obvious there was a distance she could travel. At halfway through where she could see doors appeared, equally spaced, sometimes a door on each side and sometimes one on one side. However, they were all evenly spaced apart with doors similar to the one she had entered in front of them. Was the entire labyrinth like this? It would be hard to tell until she would explore deeper into its depths.

With opportunity before her, she had truly entered the maze and would have to decide how to proceed forward, and how she would attempt to keep track of where she will have been and will be going. It was a mystery that many have tried to solve, one that was as enticing as it was endangering.

"Wha--" Noir gasped as the door suddenly turned into a liquid and before she could react to it, it sucked her in. When she opened her eyes, she was already in the other area. The magician looked back towards the door and it was still in a semi-liquid state. Normally she would want to investigate it a bit more but the feeling of getting sucked into a liquid door was a bit unpleasant so she thought she would pass this time. However, she got the feeling that the door would take her back anytime with the same sucking method anyways, so... she can inspect it more later.

As she walked with her liger, Noir would notice a lot of doors that had the same semi-liquid state as the one she entered before. It seemed Noir could use the chance to inspect it a lot this time... but where it would lead her was still a mystery. "Hm... Haku, try to smell the doors, don't get too near though. Let me know if you find anything different from each door." Noir would command Haku and she would slowly walk forward, looking around to see if she could find anything before she started to examine the doors.

The style of the chamber she found herself in was very similar to the last, with geometric stone with carvings typical to Magnostadt structures. However, what made this situation of note was how alike things were, like the universal design to make sure that everything fits together. It was aesthetically nice but it was of note although each room seemed to be separated by these odd liquid doors.

As she walked further she would find that there was a total of fifteen doors, with one final door at the end of the hall, with all of them of the same odd nature it seemed like any one of the pathways could lead to somewhere of note. There didn't seem to be many clues to the door, but Haku and even Noir would notice that when they were near the doors they would smell three conflicting scents, metal, flowers, and clay. It hung around the doors and pervaded into the hall a bit, but like everything else, it didn't give any exact hints as to what was going on as no door smelled stronger than the others and just hung around the hall

With the hall as it was in this moment, there wasn't much for her to find, it just seemed to be a hallway of sorts that she found herself in. With the door's unusual nature she wouldn't be able to just simply peek through by opening a door and she would have to decide how she was going to recon these doors at the moment and figure out how to go deeper in.

The magician would stop exploring the area at the moment, she needed some time to think where she should go next. While she could try to pick one of the fifteen existing doors, the scent bugged her. Metal, flowers, and clay's scent would accompany her and Haku's nose every time they walked near the door. While she could just go to the final door at the end of the hall, for some reason she was more curious about the other doors. "What do you think of the scents, Haku? I can't tell if one scent is stronger than the others... Can you?" Upon hearing Noir's concern, the liger would shake his head as if telling his master that he too, couldn't tell which scent was stronger than the others.

The assistant professor wondered about the scents and what those represent, but unfortunately, nothing came up in her mind. It might be related to magic types, but she wasn't sure. There were not enough clues that she could find within the area and the only way to find out about what was behind the doors was to actually go in and check it directly. "Alright Haku, we gonna go to one of the doors. Get ready." She took a deep breath, she was feeling a bit nervous but there was excitement within herself as well as she wondered where to door would take her. The magician would go towards one of the doors that would smell like flower and entered it together with Haku.

As it was before the moment Noir and her beast got sufficiently close to the door they would suddenly find themselves sucked through instant darkness before suddenly emerging in a room of immensely different proportions. At first, it could be easily forgiven that she might mistake herself for being outside. There was light, and warmth that came from above her that shown over swaying grass and dancing flowers moved along by a gentle breeze. However, upon further inspection, she would notice that she was still inside as false light came from the ceiling which looked like the sky, but there were still walls.

It seemed like she found herself in a place meant to look like the plains, and it almost seemed completely real were it not for the confines of the structure that were visible. Although she wouldn't be able to tell the room was a complete square of 50 meters on all sides, but with a few places to go.

There was an artificial river that flowed from a waterfall on the right side of the wall that came from some sort of aqueduct that went across all the way to the lower-left corner where it went into another duct that was big enough for her to slip through. There was also a hole in the ground near the upper left corner, and about twenty meters from there near the upper center was an entrance molded to look like a cave wall. The room was astounding as there was plenty for her to go from and investigate, a small peak to the mysteries and complexities of the structure she found herself within.

Haku would be the first to notice that all the plant life in there was real, as was the air and the water as it would give him the same scents as if he were out in the plains on a beautiful spring day. There were even the sounds of some insects in the distance, it would beg the question, why was this room like this, and what else could be found within its confines?

Noir was surprised when they got sucked into the darkness, wondering if it was a trap. She blamed herself, thinking that she should've made a better decision. But when they emerged into the light and ended up...outside? Noir could only stay still on her spot, her mind filled with thoughts that made her face became paler. "Did we got thrown out from the labyrinth...?" She asked herself internally, wondering which other option she should've chosen. But a nudge from Haku snapped her out of her own thought. The magician would pet her liger, telling him to not worry.

As she gathered herself together, Noir began to observe her surrounding. It looked like scenery from the plains so that was where she was at the moment probably. But she remembered the scent of metal, flowers, and clay before she entered the door... so maybe she was not outside the labyrinth after all.

After she finished observing her surrounding, it seemed she had to choose between three paths, the aqueduct, a hole, and a cave. While Noir was thinking about where to go, Haku would sniff the flower and he could tell that it was real, along with any other things within the room.

"Let's go to the aqueduct." Noir would say to Haku after she made her decision. But on her way to reach her destination, she would notice the sound of insects in the distance. Tilting her head slightly, she would wonder about something else. So she kneeled down and touched the flowers and the grasses, only to find out that it was real. But she would have to ignore the strange details for now and head to the aqueduct.

The smell and sounds of the room would continue as she traversed closer and closer to where the water emptied out of the room, all the while a gentle breeze would brush along her face. Even the air was fresh in such a way that it would make one wonder if it truly was just a room. However, the hole in the wall would keep her grounded in reality even as she got close enough to it where she could see in.

Although it was dark it seemed the water dropped down into a tunnel where the water flowed off somewhere else, probably further into the maze she found herself in. It was then that she would hear another noise, it would likely grab both her and Haku's attention a out of the grass suddenly leaped a creature!

"Ch.. Chh." the sounds of gentle chittering as a badger was sitting there eating some ants or other bugs it found while staring at the both of them. It didn't move and it didn't show any signs of aggression or fear as the nature around them seemed to exist without care.

It seemed as if this room simultaneously had very little to go off besides exits and plenty to learn from as the place seemed to be an ecosystem that was contained indoors, to be left in perpetuity. For what reason could be anyone's guess, but besides the badger, there didn't seem to be anything that large in the room as the creature didn't seem threatened or wary. There was time for her to study the room if she wanted, but there was also a deeper labyrinth out there with more mysteries all she had to do was jump into the whole before her, it was only a four-meter drop.

“A living being?” Noir would wonder to herself as her golden-colored orbs spotted a badger. It was sitting calmly, enjoying its food while staring back at both Haku and his master. The assistant professor thought the badger looked cute, but she held herself back even though it wasn’t trying to be aggressive. Well, Noir didn’t want to ruin the animal’s lunch time after all.

After observing the little creature enjoying its lunch, Noir would look around to see if she could explore the current area more. But there wasn’t much it seemed…except the hole that seemed like was waiting for her to jump in. The magician called her liger, but she wouldn’t make a move towards the hole. Instead, she continued to stare at the badger, wanting to see if the rukh flowed from it.

Once she got her answer, the magician would gesture Haku to jump with her into the hole.

The magician had been clever enough to investigate even the most mundane of things as she looked upon the badger and would watch as she sensed a gentle presence of rukh within the creature. It was indeed a real breathing and living creature apart of the cycle, it even stared at her and the liger standing up as if it was protecting its territory then standing down when they stopped paying attention to the beast.

When she focused her attention on the river and where it flowed she would soon find some excitement that she might have been hoping for with her prodding. As she jumped down she would not find the movement ending as both her and her liger would suddenly find themselves sliding at an ever-increasing acceleration. The water rushing against their bodies and getting them damp as the darkness would soon enough become the only thing they saw even though they were definitely feeling plenty.

Although she might have thought of stopping herself with magic she would likely find it hard to gain her bearings although it wasn't impossible, it didn't seem like there were any danger as light would break through once they were sufficiently dampened by the tunnel they had come through. Until they fell into the source of the light and right into more water, splashing into a pool that filled a large misty room that was hard to see past the border of the artificial shore she would see as some sand shifted pasted the ceramic rim.

Noir's golden eyes widened as she ended up sliding on the water. She wouldn't lie but she felt excited, all the water spraying onto her face made her feel fresh. Haku would let out a growl as he slid beside his master, wasn't sure if he should feel excited or scared because, at this point, he wasn't able to move at all.

But Noir suddenly felt a little bit scared too, because there was no light so she couldn't tell what would be waiting for them at the end of the slide. It would not be funny if they ended up crashing into something and hurt themselves, or even worse, dying.

Although it was hard to move properly, Noir whispered to the rukh to avoid biting her tongue to create a ball of light which would let her see her surroundings better. But turned out it wasn't necessary as a source of light would appear soon. Unfortunately, Noir wasn't fast enough to react to the fall to cast a group flight spell to avoid the falling. She and Haku fell onto the water pool, making a big splashing sound. She held her breath and tried to swim to reach the surface. The first thing inside her head would be about her liger and she looked to her left and right to find her companion.

"Haku!" She called and the liger growled behind her to tell her that he was alright. Feeling relieved that Haku was okay, Noir continued to observe her surrounding, just like what she had been doing in the previous areas.

The magician would notice the shore, but anything past that would be covered with a mist. . Noir would swim towards the shore and once she made it, she would make sure Haku reached the shore too.

However, since the mist hindered her attempt to observe the area more, she decided to use another simple wind spell to get rid of the mist to allow her to explore the room more.

As the light began to illuminate the area she would get what she wanted, with an unexpected result as well with the mists water content and volume being larger than she might've expected. It would all flash brightly as each little droplet caught the light and at first it would give her a good look at it all before it would become too bright to see properly. It was indeed an outdoor beach, or well what was supposed to look like a natural beach with rock. With Stars now visible on the ceiling that, seemed a little bit higher than where she fell from, although it was hard to see where the water was falling from now.

It was clearly the night in this room, of a new moon from how there were no clouds above her but there also wasn't a sign of the sun coming up soon enough or having set recently. However, in such an artificial environment did it really switch between cycles as the last one she was in appeared to be day and closer to the time in the real world when she entered here? There was no way it was the night outside already, so why was it in this room? There were too many questions, although, for the young magician this might've been enticing.

Although her light was a bit bright at first if she adjusted it appropriately she'd be able to cut through the mist letting her see what was around her in this new area. Around where she landed there wasn't much, but she was standing in the shallow end of some water that extended out into what looked like an artificial ocean. Although it was difficult to tell if there was a wall in the distance to give it that appearance or if there was more water as the mist seemed to roll of the sea.

"Ahh.." The sweet sounds of a gentle melody would roll off from the distance, into the deeper fog along the shore where the rocks began. It didn't react to her presence but it kept going, humming along to a sweet melody that just teased at the tip of her hearing enticing her to come closer so she could hear it.

After the thrilling ride, Noir and Haku found themselves on a beach, which was strange scenery because they weren't outside... or were they? The night sky caught her off guard and made her wonder about many things. But perhaps it was another artificial place, just like the previous area.

Just as the black-haired girl looked around to observe the area, she heard and sound. Haku's ears perked up upon hearing the melody and he took a step, standing in front of Noir, ready to protect his master just in case. "Thank you, Haku. We'll stay cautious." Noir commanded her liger before continuing her observation. She thought that she had to find the source of the sound, she was sure it would give her a clue about the area.

"Let's find the voice owner, lead the way, Haku." Upon hearing his command, Haku used his beastly instinct and started to step forward slowly. The magician followed her beast, entering the thick fog to find the source of the gentle melody.

As she approached closer to the source of the gentle music in the fog she would slowly be given more info about the source. Even in the humid artificial air, a sweet, yet salty, and calming scent could be smelled floating on the air. Then the singing was joined by rhythmic clicking making it sound like an actual song although the lyrics sounded closer to someone mimicking birdsong. Then along the shore feathers could be seen every now and then like some birds had been preening there earlier. Finally, once she was as close to the singing as she could be without becoming visible herself she would a rock at the edge of the shore where a tree hung over in shade.

It was incredibly tranquil and beautiful, even as cloaked in the mist the mystery songstress made herself known as her head craned in a complete circle to reveal a human head atop an avian frame. It was like a large swan with gigantic wings that it was using to create a bed underneath it. The face was clearly human though as its song continued even as it turned to look at Noir and her beast without a change in tune.

"Coo.." It sang out in a way uncharacteristic of a swan. although the way it turned its head was unusual all it did was look into both of their eyes while it continued its song.

The scene was odd, but everything about the scene seemed about creating a calming environment as the song was joined by the gentle lulling of the waves on the shore and the wind rustling the leaves above. The mist was even a comforting cool with the dim lighting creating a place easy for someone to take a nap. It was odd, to say the least, but as she just stood there nothing would do but keep on as it had been doing.

Noir was amazed by how strange the creature she was looking at. She had never seen anything like this before and she wasn't sure what to do, but she would spend a couple second to keep staring. Even when the creature decided to look into their eyes, Noir kept staring, wanting to observe more. However, the song, the environment, and everything else inside the area made her feel calm and relaxed. The magician couldn't help but wonder if this area was made to stop someone's journey by luring them with the calming effect or maybe it was just a very innocent creature that was minding its own business.

The magician decided to approach the creature closer, although she was very careful with Haku walking beside her. Since there was nothing else she could do, Noir thought that maybe interacting with the creature would be the best option at the moment. "Excuse me." Noir started a conversation, thinking perhaps the human head would be able to give her a reply. "Do you know where I can go to the next area?"

The song the bird carried on would stop abruptly as it was addressed by the young mage, its head slowly craning to stare at her. It didn't seem like there was any malice in the creature's eyes but it was clear that they were holding Noir with caution. It would tilt its head and stare for a moment before it would open its wings widely before standing up, a soft hum beginning to emanate from its throat. It was gentle and it would resonate inside of the magician's ears, but that's when she would notice something odd, weak rukh flowing around the creature as it did so.

"H-h-hello." The creature said to her as it did seem to understand what she was saying, at least to an extent. It kept the gentle throat singing as it tried to speak to her, its voice was gentle but croaked in way that hinted the creature hadn't spoken to anyone in a very long time. "Next....Area?"

The creature would look away from the magician for a second and look around in various directions in the dimly lit underway. It seemed to stop for a few moments in a few different spaces before it would eventually turn to look at the magician. It would hesitantly get a little closer to look into her eyes. The creature was still cautious, but it seemed to enjoy the company it had as its sorrowful singing had become a bit more cheerful.

"Depends...which one?" It asked proposing another question to add to the myriad she might've already had. It curled up, its wings wrapping round its body while it rested its head against itself, humming a bit louder as she seemed to get comfy once again.

Noir wondered why this creature had such a weak rukh, it was as if the bird was almost nearing the end of its time. But Noir wasn't really sure about that since she was not an expert in rukh, yet. However as the creature decided to answer her, the magician frowned and gave the bird a concerned look. She noticed the avian creature looking around. From the way the bird gave several seconds of staring in each direction, Noir wondered if there were more than one path that she could choose to continue her exploration. But as the bird asked her to clarify where she wanted to go, Noir could only stay quiet and tilted her head.

It was not an easy question to be answered, especially when Noir didn't know what lies in the next area. She wasn't even sure about what she was looking for in the labyrinth. All she wanted was to explore it, in the hope to find new knowledge or even anything interesting. "Well, that... I need to figure it out. But in the meantime, do you need water perhaps?" The magician swung her wand and produce a big bubble of water, attempting to offer it to the bird to drink.

The bird hummed louder as she rested again, judging from the bird's behavior, it seemed like she hadn't spoken to anyone for a long time. "What is your name if I may ask?" Noir would pause for a little bit to wait for the bird to answer before she proceeded to say something else, "Your song sounds very beautiful..." The magician began to recall her memories from her past when she learned how to dance. It has been a long time since the last time she danced and perhaps, here, right at this moment, was the right time to dance again.

Noir closed her eyes and listened to the melody from the songbird. She would let her body be swayed by the music, expressing it in her movement as she moved both of her hands and legs gracefully to match the song. Perhaps, her dance could give the bird more energy and at the same time, gave her the answer of which way she wanted to go.

The answer was simple, she was a knowledge seeker, and every destination could teach her many new things. So as Noir found out, she would stop dancing and speak to the bird, "Which way I should go to gain new knowledge?"

As Noir danced along with her song the bird seemed to be pleased, it had plenty of water around it do drink but it would appreciate the offer of a gift and would take it. It leaned in and sipped from the water that was offered, in the best way a creature with a human head could. It lapped for a bit before it would step back and continued to sing as Noir danced for her. The performance would go on for a moment without any interruption from the both of them.

"Name..."
It sat there for a moment, not as though it didn't know the answer to the question but instead as though she was taking time to remember it, something she hadn't had to give in a very long time. "..Miriam."

It had given its name with some hesitance, but after it had given its name to her there seemed to be a moment of trust between the both of them. In fact the giant avian creature would begin to circle around the magician, as though Noir were the baby bird that she had now decided to protect with all of her might. The singing continued but changed from a more melodic show tune into something relaxing, that would echo through the chamber around them and fill it with a resounding hum that could be heard and felt inside their bodies as it continued.

Then the final question the magician asked would cause the creature to pause once again. It would tilt its head around and look off in various directions before finally staring back down at her with a soft coo. "Much to learn....any direction good start."

The raven-haired girl enjoyed the time she spent with the creature and was pleased she could entertain Miriam with her dancing. "Ah, how rude of me. My name is Noir Ecryola and he is my companion, Haku. Very pleased to make your acquaintance." The magician gave Miriam a small curtsy as she introduced herself. "Thank you for letting me dance to your song, I enjoyed it very much, Miriam."

As Miriam answered Noir's question, she didn't feel it was clear enough to pinpoint her direction. However the bird was not wrong, any directions would be a good start for Noir to find new knowledge. Then that might be the answer! So Noir would motion her hand to Haku, signaling him to get ready to move forward from the area. But before she begin to walk, the girl would lock her gaze toward Miriam's orbs. "Then I will take my leave now. I hope we can meet again soon. I'd love to dance to your song again next time." Even though Miriam wouldn't able to see Noir's cheerful expression behind her stoic face, but her tone already showed enough emotions and the magician could only hope that this won't be their last meeting.

Noir and Haku marched forward, in the hope to find the path to a new area. The excited lass couldn't help but to feel more curious about what else they would encounter while they explored the labyrinth.

As Noir and Haku would leave Miriam would not move from her spot but instead waved goodbye as if it were the most natural thing to do for her. "Goodbye friends Noir and Haku, hope to play again!" She spoke with a pure sense of joy in her voice even if it was broken by her cracked throat.

Behind them, they could hear a new song picked up by Miriam, a more cheerful one sung with a warmth that they could hear even as they delved deeper into the darkness. However, it wouldn't be long from where she was to find another place to go as it seems Miriam knew. There were lights revealing corners, and holes in this dark cavern where the water of this plumbing would drop into other rooms as it had seemed she had dropped into this tunnel.

The first one that she could see would also be the first she could smell, it was food, something was cooking wherever this first hole led to. If she got closer she would see that this hole was wider and more refined with layed brick in patterns creating the arch that ordained the path. However, beyond the smells of a savory stew, she would get not much beyond seeing that the water dropped into a fountain.

It was truly another puzzling sight, but there were other holes nearby, and they didn't all appear to be the same as the second one which was most visible and had bars making it so that only the water could drop through it, but nothing could come back up. Once she got close to the first hole though she would be able to see that there were at least five holes in total nearby. The mysteries would only rise, but it had been clear before she had ever delved into here that before she would get any answers that there would first be more questions, that had come at the pair at each and every turn.

Noir waved her hands goodbye as well to Miriam, happy she was able to make a new friend in an unexpected place. The new song that Miriam picked was very beautiful as well, but although the magician was tempted to dance to it, she knew she had to continue her journey.

Noir's eyes sparkled with excitement as she found the path to other areas, although she might have to slide into the hole to proceed. Most of the holes piqued her interest but perhaps the first one she saw was the most alluring. Maybe it was because of the nice scent, not to say that she was hungry at the moment... but it did make her wonder about how many hours had passed since she went into the labyrinth.

The raven haired girl prompted Haku to join her into the first hole, she would position herself so she could slide in smoothly and off she went, to the new area!

As Noir and Haku would slide down into the hole they would soon find themselves in a place to be somewhat expected, as it could be seen from above they had fallen into a large basin where water could be collected in a kitchen for use in cooking or drinking. As to be expected from the grand fountain they found themselves in the kitchen and source of the wondrous scents. At the moment it seemed there was no one else in there with them so she would be able to investigate for the moment.

Straight across from her at the other end of the room was a massive oven that took up nearly half the wall, with a chimney that disappeared into the ceiling. It was incredibly lived in with worn red brick walls and ingredients hanging from the wall or strings. On shelves, there were jars of pickled and dried goods, and on another wall next to here, there was a stove with a large pot on it filled with a boiling broth. Now that they were in the center of it all she could tell familiar scents of greens, garlic, onion, peppers, and bone marrow that came from the pot steam. Then if she tried to discern what was coming from the oven she would be hit with the scent of wonderfully prepared bread wafting across to her.

It had been an incredibly tempting place, there were even pastries cooling on the wall to the right, it definitely seemed like someone had been preparing an absolute feast. Although now she was sitting in their drinking and cooking water, there were even kegs of what could be assumed to be wine on their sides.
