Age + Birthdate: 18 - December, 14 |Gender: Male | Sexuality: Homosexual
Hair Color: Chestnut | Eye Color: Grey/white | Height: 179cm | Weight: 81kg
Appearance:
Malachi stands just under six foot with unkempt chestnut brown hair. His eyes are glazed over with a pale blue hue from constant treatment of his blindness. Wrapped around his head is a soft blue bandana with the symbol of ouroboros in white dye. He often has a partial grin set on his angular face making it hard to discern what he is thinking for anyone due to his enigmatic personality. His body is slender with nimble callused fingers and feet. Malachi is a hugger and a toucher often in a mocking manner. Commonly he wears a deep dark blue yukata draped loosely over his frame although he has a variety styles he can wear. He is never in a rush and walks at a leisurely pace.
Special Features:
Malachi was blinded by a Kou Empire Magician using a flesh eating bacteria that has only been prevented from spreading to the rest of his body.
Personality:
Malachi is easygoing with almost everything in his life except for his research/study. How much worse could life actually get once you become blind. This apathetic attitude prevents others opinions from weighing on him. Combined with heavy use of sarcasm and mocking politeness he plays with others emotional states for his own amusement. Games, riddles, puzzles on a grander scale over the course of months toying with others futures, dreams, and aspirations to pass the time.
He has no use for money and hasn't dealt in something so pedestrian since he moved to Magnostadd. Secrets are worth their weight in gold and he enjoys learning of the inner demons that people have so much so that he will perform favors for those willing to unearth the skeletons in their closets.
Highly perceptive and intelligent there isn't much that comes across his path that he doesn't notice. Well, except for things that he can't see but there are other ways to see things sometimes more clearly than normal.
The young magician believes that everyone has a predestined path back to the rukh but our own choices determine how we get there. Everything in the world is connected through them as a part of a larger collective.
Likes:
Plants and Bees: The growing and use of herbs, fruits, vegetables and flowers always filled Makachi with joy and the relationship that they share with bees fascinated him.
Sugar: Malachi has an extreme sweet tooth. He will often skip main courses and opt for a sweet instead. He is obsessed with anything that has to do with confections and things that would lead him to them
Secrets:The lies we tell ourselves are like gold to him especially those we tell others. A wife having an affair and keeping it, a professor plagiarizing another and pushing the work out as their own, you could say that he gets equal enjoyment from learning them and using them as he does sweets.
Dislikes:
Dishonesty:The young man does not appreciate anyone who lies to him or is dishonest in any way and will turn pulling the truth out of them into a game.
Seriousness: His unburdened attitude clashes harshly with those that have their lives regimented or take things too seriously.
Manipulative People:He despises those that pity him for his condition or those that try to control him due to it.
Aspirations:
Concentration of Power: Malachai would like to convert all magicians to the teachings of Magnostadt to centralize the teaching and power into the country but, selfishly it is a way to make sure what happened to him never happens to another magician again.
Find the Truth: Malachi wants to locate those in the Kou empire responsible for his parents death and blinding him. He does not have many leads and he will need to learn a great deal with magic before he is able to even consider it.
Conasuir: To eat every dessert that he can find starting in Magnostadt and then branching off into the world to eventually open his own bakery. The joy he feels and the rush that courses through his body when sugar hits it is too good of a drug not to persue.
Phobias/fears:
Animotophobia or the fear of emotions. Something fundamental to Malachi is his unburdened attitude which one could argue is a coping mechanism from becoming blind. Sadness, anger, pain, sorrow, guilt, regret almost all are subconsciously pushed out of his mind and heart to make room for joy, amusement, and mischief. Serious emotions make him uncomfortable so much so that he will often go out of his way to change the subject or deflect with sarcasm or humor.
History:
Malachi was born in Magnostadt during a time when the Kou Empire seeded to make moves on just about any country for land and power. His Father was a professor at the university and Mother a magic researcher pursuing applications of the borgs. They had great pride in being magicians and took their jobs seriously. When an opportunity to do more for the nation came they agreed to take it and become sentinels near the Kou Empire.
New-born in tow they made off to a small cottage and built a research facility that could signal back to Magnostadt of encroaching forces on their border. Neighboring villages suffered from famine, poverty, and disease while their small acreage was constantly bountiful due to magic. They cared not to help anyone that was not a magician and hoarded everything they owned in excess despite the ability to help.
Malachi spent his days being taught the fundamental basics of magic and how to communicate with the rukh. With nothing better to do his Father oversaw his education and nurtured his hobbies with love and care. He was the reason for the bountiful harvests of food growing year round and his mother made it so the elements never touched the small establishment with her borg research.
He would make trips to the neighboring homesteads for luxury goods and things they could not get on their own. He never understood why he was supposed to look down on them but, his parents did and that was enough for him as a child. Word eventually reached members of the Empire's army of the Magicians living near them and an envoy was dispatched to deal with the intruders.
Members of the Kou Empire assaulted their home and killed his parents effortlessly. While capable magicians in their own right both were not battle oriented a hindsight on their part. Magnostadt thought that by not placing offensive oriented people they would be fine but the barbarism of the Empire is unquestionable. Malachi too young to be deemed a threat was instead blinded so that he could not be a thorn in the future.
Magicians arrived after a week due to the silence of the settlement to find the massacre family and wounded child. He was healed and stabilized, but any attempt to treat his ailment was unsuccessful. Whatever his attackers did prevented the reversal by normal magics. He spent the next year in rehabilitation learning how to live as a blind man and was able to attend school once more.
Role-Play Sample:The wind howled screaming at the Seer to leave his ledge but he remained stoic. His robe dancing aggressively with nature, she was clearly leading. There was a chill in the air that Malachi felt deep in his lungs like needles. Every breath was exhausting and tortuous, but he was warmed with a growing sense of satisfaction that grew in intensity. Enormous pillars of frozen water shifting from solid to liquid swirled around a pool of light so cold his hair grew frost.
The long lost location of a primordial birthplace was discovered by the seeker of truth. Countless books that left the faintest hint hidden within their bindings. Before him lay the remnants of an ancient site said to be the birthplace of ice.
A grin sliced his face from ear to ear, here he would learn the secrets of the rukh.
