Dalia sat on a hill as the wind blew through her long hair making it flutter in the wind. She had her arms crossed and resting on her knees as she looked on at the Kogata clan’s lands with a bored expression. She lifted her head up towards the sky as a long gust of wind ruffled her hair. She sniffed at the fresh air before stretching out her legs and arms letting herself flop backwards into the grass she sat in. She staring at the sky for a long while slowly blinking as
she tilted her head a bit to one site watching the birds fly through the sky raising her good hand to the sky feeling the wind clashing with it. She closed her hand tightly before letting it fall to the side of her. “Stupid sky....” She said quietly before sitting up hearing some local clan members talking about their failure to take out some of the wildlife and their struggles with another clan sneaking in their lands but they couldn’t strike without risking some blow back. Dalia rose a brow and shouted. “Do you know how to train feral animals?!” She asked, sounding annoyed. The party looking over to see her but nodded a bit. “Follow me idiots. I got a plan.” She said getting up. The group looking confused but after some muttering of those who she traveled with they decided to join her.
“It’s simple. I draw them out and lead the collection of them into the open, I’m small and if I run slow I seem like an easy kill.”
Dalia skidded on her feet as the pack of wolves on her tail as she eased into the clearing. She then ran at full speed in a circle around them over and over and over making them all growl and back up into each other getting ready for an attack.
“Then you all come in and incompasotate them, not kill… sadly… but incompasotate them.”
The hunters leaped from all directions front he tops of the trees using their Throwing Knives taking down the wolves that all yelped in pain as they fell to the ground and the hunters slowly made their way down as Dalia skid to a stop watching them before looking to the wolves.
“Then you train them to attack your enemies as they may come close to your village thinking they are being attacked by just wild life. They will have no idea your people gained a new weapon. For all they know they just got too close to a hidden pack of wolves.”
Dalia walked back with the hunters as they dragged the patched up and tied up wolves back to their animal training grounds. A week or so later though as Dalia was resting on a kill she heard screams and wolf howls coming from the forest. She looking over in time to see some of the hunters motionign her over to follow. She raised a bored brow but got up and made her way over to the outskirts of the Kotoga’s lands to peer into the forest. Some rival clans men ran in the distance away from the area badly hurt. She didn’t know who's clan they were honestly, she didn’t care enough to look into the other clans to memorize the looks of their people. But she could definitely tell based on the chasing wolves close behind them that her idea with the wolves worked.
She watched as the wolves caught up to them and then proceeded to Swarm the clan members, killing them promptly with their sharp teeth that bit and ate them from all over. When they finished they sniffed the air for any other targets looking over to Dalia and the hunters before making their way over. The leader of the pack eyeing Dalia who eyed them back gently placing her hand on his snout the two silent for a long while before she looked up to the hunter moving her hand away. “The plan went well, there are still some we are trying to train but we have begun implementing capturing and training the local wildlife into our regular routines. We hope to build a bigger army of them all soon enough.”
He sent the wolves back out with a basic whistle command taking her to a lookout tower. He pointed out several spots they plan to set up. Dalia nodded before speaking.
“Train them to howl before and after they spot a target and take them out.” She said simply walking down the front of the tower.
“Oh?” He inquired with a rose brow following her down.
“One is to signal your people there is a threat spotted nearby. They will likely smell them long before you spot them. The second howl is to inform you the job is done, an all clear if you wanna call it that. If you incorporate other animals the wolves will be the main ones to signal you due to how loud their howls are. Position them at the spots you believe should be watched the most but will not suffer from getting eyes set on them. No weak spots should be too heavily marked that would draw attention to the way in and add suspension to why the wolves are there and blocking that particular spot.
Something like a bear that could be roaming by or resting there that is easily woken if they get too close would be best. Once that is in place you will have better well hidden protection that is unsuspected, and also an alert system through the wolves.” She said simply to the man’s disbelief but he smiled and held out a small snack food to her.
“Here for your help kid.” He said with a chuckle as she took it and sniffed with one of her eyes open more than the other and a frowned brow.
“Thanks or whatever…” She said walking off. Why was everyone so surprised when she gave a plan out loud. It’s like they thought she just always attacked with no rhyme nor reason to it. She was raised by a small group of bandits that until 8 had never lost any of its members, they had to plan all the time for their attacks they just may not always say it out loud. They weren’t heathens or anything.
