Job Overview: The knights Zana comes to support against the mercenaries end up being quite aggressive crusaders, raiding towns for food and using excessive force to extract information from innocent people. Zana sees the dark side of the crusades and as his last duty as a knight, he stops a small town from being burnt down to the ground and the people killed. Face your fears and defeat the ten knights not serving Sasan justice.

Sasan Knights:

Damage Required to Defeat: C-tier
Description: Sasan Knights are equipped in a blue-tinted steel armor which covers most of their body but their heads. Well trained soldiers who've dedicated their lives to fighting for their nation, being able to jog and move at a decent pace. Each Knight is equipped with with a 1.6m long lance which does C-tier damage, a 1m long shortsword and a C-tier tower shield that is .75, wide and 1.5m tall.
Abilities:

  • Brigade Block- The group of Knights, needing 5 or more forms a wall that can block one attack up to A-tier in damage.

  • Lance Charge- A Sasan Knight charges forward 3m dealing C-tier damage with their Lance if they strike someone.

  • Toss- While blocking with a shield or intercepting an incoming attack the Sasan knight tucks and uses their shield to throw their opponent behind them 3m.


The sun rising over a small coastal city within Reim's eastern front, Zana was soon about to awake to his last day as a knight of Sasan. He would brush over his eyelids with his right hand and sit up from inside his knight's tent. The young boy were to grab his wand, standing up from his sleeping mat. He could see light peeking through his tent's opening very slightly. The dawn of a new day was a true delight for Zana, he just prayed his day would play out alright. He were to be told last night that him and some other knights would be assigned the task of questioning some towns around here. Not only that, but they would try to get some good food out of the towns for a unit of knights that were to come to the eastern coast of Reim in the next week.

"I guess we are heading out to get some food and ask questions today, huh..?"

Said the blue magician to himself as he were to get his bag of items together and leave his tent. Zana would put his hand over his eyes upon exiting his tent and coming to meet the sunlight. He yawned and would greet some other knights up early. The sun was still only rising and so he were to get a breakfast while he awaited his other fellow knights. Zana ate some bread and a fruit but that were to be all for his breakfast. He did not consume very much anyway in a day but enough to keep a healthy weight.

The morning were to fully set in as more knights awoke and prepared for the day. Zana himself lied about, and would read his books on magic as his comrades got ready for departure to a nearby town. After a few minutes of waiting, his fellow men were to be set to head out! Zana would ride on toward a small rural town on the eastern front of Reim for an hour and a half. Upon their arrival in the town, they would be met by instant fright by the locals. Zana did not know why that was. He were to get off his horse and talk to some people to ask them questions on if they have seen a dungeon around these parts as many travelers often passed by this town. They would say there has been no sight nor word of any dungeon, a statement in which Zana took. However, it were to seem his knight comrades did not like that very much, thinking the answer the town gave them was insufficient. Zana were to begin to get worried the situation would escalate. He would try to quell the situation before it got too heated.

After calming his fellow men in arms down a bit, Zana were to ride with his horse over to another side of town to share the faith of Sasan with village folk as the other knights tried to get food from village farmers. Upon having left the situation though, some knights were to have quickly grown tired of trying to ask the town farmers nicely for food. The knights in unison had decided to raid the town, and begin capturing women. Zana were to not realize what would be happening though until he were to smell smoke and the helpless screams of innocent. This was not good!

"We need this food for our crusade in the name of God, you filthy old man! Get out of our path or your daughter will be slain before your very eyes!"

"Please! Someone!"

The cries of help rung loud as a young woman was dragged by her blonde hair and her father trying to fight to get his beloved daughter back. He wielded a pitchfork bravely against knights of the nation of Sasan, but would quickly fall to the lance of an armored knight like his emotions meant nothing. However, they did mean something. Zana were to witness this upon arriving to the scene with his horse. Brigades of knights would suddenly start to bring fire and bloodshed to the streets of the town. It were to turn to chaos in a only a mere moment. Zana could not stand around and do nothing though, he had to do something! He were to step toward the armored knight clutching the blonde woman by her hair, and shout out loud.

"Unhand her, you heathen!"

The frail magician roared as he would channel magoi into his blessed silvery blue wand. Zana hesitated to attack and even just say something, but he would face his fears with valiancy and protect this town from being burnt and razed down. Zana would avenge the fallen man who tried to save his daughter.

"Bay Blast!"

His wand pointed at the knight, Zana would cast a spell and attack him out of the blue. The knight were to look toward him as he were to shout and attack, and be taken off guard. Zana's spell were to strike the wicked man with such force that he were to immediately drop to the ground upon being hit by the blast.
The woman being held by her hair would escape the knight's grasp and be freed.

A brigade of five knights in the nearby vicinity were to catch wind of what it is that Zana was doing though and make an attempt to stop his efforts. They were to deem Zana a traitor for fighting against forces of Sasan and come to a unanimous decision to take him out.

"We have ourselves a traitor of the holy kingdom, men! Tear him apart! Lance Charge!"

Said out loud a knight among the brigade of five, leading the Lance Charge at the traitorous knight, Zana. Feeding his wand magoi, he cast two great spells in succession aimed at the evil and cruel knights, trying to take them out. Zana looked at the charging knights with eyes of the brave. It was the end of his knighthood, but he did not care, if it meant doing what is right, then so be it!

"I shalt not be a knight no more if this is what it means to be a knight! Bay Noises! Bay Vortex!"

In succession, he would target the knights, disorienting the charging brigade with sound magic and then attacking their forward charge with a swirling vortex of water that would crash into three of them, defeating them.

There were to be a pair of men who were to barely escape Zana's vortex of water attack, but would stumble around as they tried to dodge it. Zana were to take the opportunity to attack them again with another ability, but as he had begun to, four men from his rear would appear riding horses, kicking up dust. It was calvary knights ! Zana would quickly run over to the side of the stumbling knights and finish them off with another vortex of water before then facing against the calvary knights.

"Bay Vortex!"

Zana cast his attack aimed at the disoriented knights, hitting them with the swirling vortex of water magic. The armored men would fall into the vortex and be knocked unconcious, lying in a pool of water once the vortex dissipated. The calvary brigade of knights would immediately charge Zana with spears and begin to attack. Feeding his wand magoi and casting a spell, Zana would tap the ground with haste and form a wave of water 5m far from him that were to crash into the knights with much force. Hit by the wave of water as they were to charge Zana, the knights would be blown off their horses and onto the ground below where they lied either unconcious or with broken bones.


The cloudy sky clearing, Zana were to have defeated his knight emissaries by himself. He would have stood in place and realized what he had just done but buildings were ablaze, and the village called for his help! With the use of water magic, young Zana quickly extinguished the fires razing down the village before there was nothing left. His heart racing so fast, there was no time for him to think about how he just betrayed the kingdom he had once called home.

As the brave mind, Zana, were to put out the last fire, a band of five mercenaries from Kou would arrive in the village. At first, upon hearing from the villagers that some armed warriors had arrived in the village, Zana were to begin to fret that more knights had come to town to continue the battle that had just ended. However, it were not knights of Sasan who would had arrived, but a small band of mercenaries helping to fight against the crusades. Zana were to be somewhat nervous with the fact that mercenaries had come here, hoping they did not want to kill him for being associated with Sasan. He did not have anything to worry about though, the mercenaries were not some band of savages unbeknownst to him. The mercenaries were to ask villagers to see and speak to him. Being his timid and nervous self though, Zana was hesitant in talking to the mercenaries from Kou. Villagers were to say to Zana that the mercenaries only wanted to meet the hero who saved the town from being burnt down, warming the magician up to the heroic band of mercenaries.

"Ah... I suppose I will meet them then.."


Zana were to finally decide to meet these mercenaries, talking to them about what had just happened here in the village. The mercenaries would come to marvel in how Zana had come to fight against his fellow knights and defeat them single handedly. Some of the mercenaries were to point out to each other how Zana's act of heroism reminded them of their leader, a man of also a young age by the name of Trently.

"Huh..?"

Confused to who this Trently person even was, Zana were to ask them about who their leader is, to which they would respond with: "Come with us, and we will tell you all about our leader and our guild!". With nowhere else to really go now after just defeating some of these knights of Sasan, Zana were to shrug and decide to just tag along with these Kou mercenaries for now. He were to vow to return to Sasan one day, but now was not the time. A defector of the holy state of Sasan, he would have to find a new purpose in life, and that likely involved changing the ways of Sasan.
