Two things.
One of the requirements should be access to Life Magic.
How far away can the vine spawn from you? Does it spawn right under your feet and then go 2 meters or can it spawn within 1 meter from you and then reach 2 meters?

This would be my ticket to learning Life Magic seeing as how training details and WCs for individual single magic types has not been implemented yet and are not seen anywhere.
It spawns 2 meters away which is why it is "an attempt to trip an opponent who is 2m away." If the vine spawned 1m away and traveled up to 2m, then it would form a straight line in front of the caster and would lose the probably not be able to trip anyone since he is trying to trip a person coming at him. I edited it a little bit to help give a better understanding.
