Traits System


On Magi World, each character can potentially be a completely unique build. While there might be two warriors side by side, their character attributes and play styles might be completely different with neither being able to copy or reproduce the other. This is made possible through traits.

Traits are features, attributes, or perks obtained as you rank up your character and the classes they possess. You make create your own custom made traits, but there are also general traits that you may choose from. Players can make traits up to A-tier as long as they have the points.

Gaining Traits

Trait Points
In order to obtain traits, you must spend trait points. The value of each trait depends on its tier. For each tier the trait goes up, the cost goes up by one, so the costs are as follows:

D-tier: 1 point
C-tier: 2 points
B-tier: 3 points
A-tier: 4 points
Ω-Tier: 5 points

As you rank up you obtain trait points. However you can also gain them from your classes. You gain one trait point for each tier of your classes including D-tier. So each character starts with 2 trait points. If a character is maxed out in ranks and classes ranks with three classes they would possess the maximum number of trait points possible outside of special means for a total of 17 trait points.

Important Note - Ω-Tier traits are only obtainable through special means.

Upgrading Traits:
When you want to upgrade a trait it is simple, just pay the difference of points between the tier. For example, if you have a D-tier trait which only costs 1 point and you want to upgrade it to B-tier which costs a total of 3 points, you only have to pay 2 points to upgrade it.

Special Means:
Events may grant trait points as a reward that can be used toward obtaining additional traits.

An Ω-Tier trait can be purchased from Fate's Fortune, a Shard of Solomon, or obtained through an extensive plot designed and run by staff. These traits do not cost trait points. All Ω-Tier traits are created by a staff member with player input.

An Ω-Tier player may request an Ω-Tier trait made for them in exchange for an event reward, a shorter plot designed and run by staff, or character development. However, these traits will cost trait points.

In rare cases, staff may reward players with lower tier traits based on in-character developments, plot, or as event rewards. These traits do not cost trait points and can be up to A-Tier.
