Just recently, Zadi had encountered an animal smuggler that was dealing in the selling of rare animal skins and hides. Lucky for all the animals that were about to be skinned, Zadi was able to save them just in the nick of time! And in the process of releasing all the animals…they all tried to attack him. There were too many for Zadi to have dealt with, but luckily, there was one animal…a snake…that helped Zadi escape. It was long after the animals started to stampede that a purple and gray colored snake, as if pure venom itself, slithered in front of Zadi Medmar…and rattled its top scales in a sign of danger. However, all the animals could sense the strength of this purple snake and ran around Zadi and the snake, trying not to even touch it! However, Zadi was still scared sit-less…get it? Never mind, bad joke. He was scared still, but the purple snake looked behind itself, seeing Zadi…and slithered around and over Zadi’s shoulder, still touching the ground though. It was a rather light-weight snake, but also rather large! 5 meters to be exact! It was rather skinny for a snake though, but that was just fine with Zadi. You know why? Cause he ended up taming his first ever beast…simply be being scared of it, hahaha! That’s right! He named it and now he had a legitimate beast companion, a rare and venomous snake from some unknown place!

Anyway, that was the past, but it stuck with Zadi for the longest time running. And now he was training his new and probably best of friends, Syma the snake that was an ambiguous and random species of snake that no one would ever find out about! Maybe. Not sure if there would be some zoologist that would eventually figure it out or not. All the same, Zadi was near the third dungeon, though Zadi thought it was the second one. Anyway, Zadi and Syma both stared at the dungeon…and Zadi told Syma something that would end up letting her grow out of her shell…you know, molt. Like a normal snake. The only difference between her and the rest of all venomous snakes was the inability to use her fangs, but rather her spit. And she was and probably always will be the greatest of all spitters! Even if that’s not a real word, hahaha!

“You see that right there Syma? THAT is where we shall go next in our journey together as partners. We shall go there in order to attain greater power and knowledge of this world. Maybe even keep it as balanced as it is now! However, keep in mind that we may not be strong enough to capture this dungeon. I fear that others may come and try to stop us…all four of us…from even stepping into the grand halls of this dungeon. So…Syma…ready to molt?”

After such a speech that both gave fear and motivation to Syma…she started to grow, ever slightly, and then molt, shedding her skin like a new born chick hatching from its shell. Syma was eventually free of her hold self, literally, and slithered all over Zadi in order not to touch the coarse sands that hurt her soft scales. She would be stronger now, not weaker. It would take time, but those scales would be stronger than before!

Now that the molting had happened, Syma was eventually going to toughen up, literally, and great more powerful in terms of speed and venomous strength. However, Zadi noticed something strange about Syma. It seemed there were four areas on her body that were getting sort of bumpy. Four bumps were somewhat protruding from the side of Syma’s body where limbs would theoretically be…however, snakes weren’t supposed to grow limbs…right? Well, Zadi didn’t know the species of snake that Syma was born from…or cross-breaded from. Zadi did only find her in a cage while he was setting all the other animal free. All the same, it was strange that she would be growing things like that. Maybe they would help her speed up, climb things, or even swim? Perhaps, perhaps. At the moment though, I doubt that Syma has been near a large body of water, EVER! Maybe something like a drinking pool, but certainly nothing like a lake. Anyway, Syma was getting stronger, which included her venom’s potency. However, Zadi has never had a chance to train Syma for combat. He’s just tried to bond with her like a friend, not like a weapon. Unlike most things, Zadi didn’t see Syma as a weapon or sorts, but rather as a partner for which she helps keep him company!

“Syma…do you want to learn how to fight? Like, not just against other animals since you seem to know a thing or two about intimidation, but more along the lines of utilizing that spitting power of yours like archers use arrows? Oh, you might not know what archers are, hahaha! Or what I’m saying…”

Zadi was talking to an animal of all things. However, Syma seemed to understand Zadi a little. She hissed after he stopped talking, probably indicating that she could feel what Zadi was saying. Well, Zadi took that as a “yes, I want to learn how to fight” and then started to train Syma in the ways of bobbing and weaving when being attacked. Syma was already pretty quick, quicker than the average human, so dodging close combat attacks would be easier, especially since she was a snake.

“When you dodge, remember to NEVER turn your back. Don’t do any fancy movements or whatever you want to call it. Don’t try to out-fancy your opponent. They want to hurt you, not dance with you. However, if you can tell the next move they are going to make and you also feel the chance for an opening to strike, do so by all means!”

As Zadi was explaining the rules of dodging, Syma was ever increasingly getting tougher and stronger, both inside and out. Doesn’t mean she wasn’t listening, but that she was aching all over, especially from all the movement examples that Zadi was doing…she was resting on his shoulders and arms after all. However, when Zadi was done talking…after a few hours…Syma was “full baked” and ready to move herself over the sand and dirt! She then followed Zadi’s example, doing all the motions herself, and eventually getting the hang of her new speed and strength. After an hour of practice, Syma was probably the fastest snake within a 10 mile radius of Zadi!
