Jahan entered the Palace of the Stars, a temple that stood long ago in Reim. War had ravaged the temple, the building being but a shade of what it used to be however the broken aesthetics somehow made the place look even more enchanted. Especially that of the inside.
There was a legend, written down long ago, that the gods had sealed a beast of tremendous power within a lake. The Palace of the Stars was then built around the lake. The truth of the matter was gone, erased with the corroding essence of time, just having missed the great book of history by a grain of salt. Regardless Jahangir did extensive research and led himself down twisting caverns, until he found the room.
The room itself had a skylight pouring forth light into a tabernacle, which a large bowl sat. More noticeably in the room would be the several dead bodies. Jahan quickly reached for his sword, eyeing his surroundings quickly. Yet there was no sign of any threat, not a single sound, not a movement. He dropped his blade and went to the nearest body before kneeling down and pressing a hand to it.
"It's cold as ice!" he exclaimed, yet the bodies were not decomposed at all.
"Yet all of their stuff is covered in webs and dusts" Jahan observed the fallen warriors's equipment, his sword being extremely rusted along with any and all other metals on him.
"Shit this is creepy" Jahan wasnt a man to fear much or hardly anything at all. Yet this wasn't comprehend able. He quickly got to his own feet and ran to the center of the temple the tabernacle. The bowl on top of the pillar held a golden substance. Aside from that there was a book. Jahan opened the book and flipped through the pages skimming it.
"Lets see here. Beware those who enter this place. Those who choose to drink from this bowl may gain great power, however you risk upon it your death. Only the strongest of wariors may take even a sip from the bowl.."
Jahan skimmed across the pages a little longer and concluded that the "lake" the monster was sealed in was no other than the bowl sitting atop this tabernacle.
"Well then these guys must not be considered the strongest of warriors"Jahan said teasingly.
"Yet I of coarse am"
Jahan grasped the bowl, and the confident boy drank the entirety of the liquid.
"God that was amazing" Jahan said tempted to lick the bowl.
"It tastes like..like heaven!"
The pleasantries were soon dropped as the bowl slid from Jahangir's hands crashing against the ground into many pieces. Jahan dropped to the ground in a rush of unbearable pain. It was so bad the he could no longer think clearly. He only felt, and it was a terrible feeling.
The pain Jahan felt was so intense that it could be described as magnificent. His insides felt as if they were burning up, his body was experiencing a pain similar to being broken down on the cellular level. It was intense to say the least.
Jahangir no longer had any control over himself, only a pain so intense that he could only writhe about. He slammed his fists into the tarnished columns of the temple, banged his head across the stone paved floors, he wanted anything to stop this pain, even death.
His screams and cries could be heard from a distance, birds and small animals would flee from the sound. Jahan would begin coughing up blood rapidly, the taste of it iron and rustic. His body took deep heavy breathes, and he collapsed on the hard cold floor.
Suddenly the sensation changed, now he couldnt feel anything, numbness was a powerful feeling, especially if you have ever felt it course through your entire body. Yet for Jahangir it was different, the numbness he felt rushed through what felt like his entire being, he was in a state of being that felt like nothing.
Darkness soon consumed Jahangir, his body loosing its consciousness, yet his mind stayed awake. Just like that everything was still, Jahangir had always been moving his entire life. Always thinking, joking and being active, he was always experiencing life, but just like that everything became still for the boy.
The sun set in the forest, the ruins of the temple filled to the brink with the bodies of fallen. As time passed, moonlight would flood the ruined temple, the skylight shining on Jahan's face giving him an appearance both serene and ominous.
Theres a skylight that my saviors may enter, which leads to some other part of this unnamed forest in Reim.
