Every few years, near the borders and into the walls of Magnostadt a perverted event of greed had been held. People had been sold exotic goods, the relics of ancients stolen, and even the form of monsters that lurked the night. It was often headed by the man that brought for the beasts, and while his money still flowed in the markets that had set up, his creations had yet to show their face. Still, he wished for people to enjoy themselves every so often.

By early morning more than a hundred shops had already been set up. Most had trinkets, simple mundane items, the real show was from those bringing the bright new creations of the Academy's finest. Since magic tool creation had fully been achieved, innovation had boomed to a point unimaginable just a decade ago. It had only been when mages first began the craft of emulating and cracking into the tools found within the dungeons. Their magic offered much insight, and now greater discoveries had led to a boon in the efficiency of these powerful instruments. The whim of their conductor, commanding this grand orchestra to shape the world with their innovation. Plenty of Mangostadts powerful hated how their discoveries had found their way to foreign lands. None had known it came from one of their own, from the very soul who had also spliced the genes of dungeon beasts into a man. It was a power beforehand only achieved by magi and djinn alike. They found themselves on equal footing in grace, now outside their home, wandering this makeshift bizarre. Typhon was on the street.

It had first started within the walls of Mangostadt, from their funding about eight years ago. Every few years or so it seems to come back, this now being the third one come to happen. Now it was almost like an illegal gathering before goi needed to sneak in or have a chaperone. Now, they flooded the market with mages alike as people hired guards to protect their shops. This was far behind Typhon's funding, their creations would have no appearance this year either. There was one gift so far, but nothing as grand as before. It was a series of items, for those who wished to keep their identity protected during such activities. Disguises of a fun nature, for you never knew when the law or bitter buyers would go hunting.

"It would be a shame to not participate at all though." Typhon twisted something around their right hand's middle finger. A small ring, glowed until four perfect illusions would appear, each with their own voice, each with a crow that came from Typhon themself. "Go, see how our guests are enjoying the festivities. It would be a shame... if there was no show." Each was given a glass vial as well, a gift from their father to grow the family. Their creator made sure to leave them free from disguise.

Each would begin to wander the markets, there were plenty of shops as well, plenty to visit. There were plenty of surprises, while many had been bidding for days now, with the end near there were always late sellers. There was a shop, in which people bought legends, stories, or keys to greater tools. It was told artifacts were found there as well, even contractors or people looking for allies were looking to sell their companionship.

CHOICES:
  1. Go to the artifact Shops to claim your artifact
  2. Follow Voices towards the late arrivals

The pale undead would make the journey to this years auction alone. There were those who saw the underbelly of the world and others who turned a blind eye to get their hand on riches. One could exchange their capital for raw power. This was not his first time at the auction, in fact, the auction is what had turned him into a pale undead as well as arrange a meeting with the contractor.

Hyperion was no longer hiding who he was. The artwork of ink and scars across his chest and back respectively was a sort of calling card. His outlandish style seemed to attract eye, a mix of black leather and inky silk against his cyanotic skin and highlighted by golden, jewel-encrusted accessories. Sauntering to view just exactly what he wanted. His power since becoming a zombie lord had increased, turning him to a sort of revenant.

He spend quite a bit of time examining the wares, carefully holding back on bidding 'til something called out to him. He stepped away from amassing a horde to sit beneath him dormant. It was only a simple scroll that seemed to resonate with his own magic type. The slaver was quick to make an offer on the enormous scroll as he began to look at the details.

As she slowly walked she tried her best to stay close to Ghost. Even for someone such as her, it would be hard to imagine that she was just a kid. As they enter the creepy marketplace. Mya had an uneasy feeling to herself. As she closed the gap between her and Ghost she would see a few unholy-looking beasts.
This made her hair stand up on the back of her neck. As Ghost would carefully look over a few things. He would be quick to pass on a few things. "Damn I don't see anything I like this far. I best keep looking if not then I made this threat for nothing." As Mya would then say...."Yo..ooour Maaaaajesty, please pick something and let us go this place gives me the creeps." As Ghost looks at her he would only smile and shook his head.

"Knight Of Jack, you had encountered far more fearful things than these lots."
Soon enough he would start to walk as he would say, "What I really need is to fill the void for my Queen card." As he said that he would keep walking as Mya followed suit.

It was a fair trip to this land, where grass plains laid untouched as far as one's eye can see or witness. In his light red coat trimmed with gold, caligae boots, the man came to the event. Yet, where ought he, the soldier whom had never once participated within this event, begin? It was clear he did have a fair edge on the competition, granted, Angelus was famed, with vast wealth to his name.

However, none the less, the man was clueless on where to start. Upon coming to the stalls where trinkets were being sold, he was to keep his face concealed, hoping nobody was to notice the political figure. It was crucial to the man that he did not stand out, for the controversy, news, rumors, that surround him do not bode well for him. It brought plenty of publicity, but so too the bad kind.

If she was honest, Zubaidah hated these Grand Auctions. When she came here the last time, Ran Wo had been transformed into her Leshy form, more than exposing their dark side. As such, she had come alone this time, reluctant to endanger any other Ash Company members.

But if the danger was so certain, you might ask, then why come back to Magnostadt at all? Well, where there is risk, there is surely reward.

Using her connections in the Hashashin, Zubaidah had learnt vital information from inside the auction: Torran artefacts were on the market again. Eager to acquire more such artefacts, and learn more about Alma Torran, Zubaidah reconsidered the dangers behind Magnostadt’s auctions and secured a spot for her own stall. Disguised as an elderly vendor, she would sell sub-par Dungeon items until her contact arrived…

…and delve further into the dark underbelly of the Grand Auction.

The magician couldn't believe what she saw with her own eyes. All the years she spent living in Magnostadt and this would be the first time she heard about this kind of event. Luckily for her, she was able to get in. Looking around, there were so many shops selling many types of goods. As a curious person, Noir felt very intrigued to know more about what they were selling.

After she walked around, some items already piqued her interest but it would be wise for her to keep exploring each shop. She wouldn't want to just spend some of her fortunes on a certain item and regret it when she found another item that she might like more.

"There are so many people here...", Noir thought to herself as she tried to avoid bumping into other people. Since there were so many people attending the auction, perhaps Noir would encounter some of her acquaintances. But only Fate knew what would happen next...

Rather than trust the disguises provided by the ones organizing this grand event, the ever cautious and distrusting Zion arrived in his own costume of manipulated flesh. Trickster Foxspirit had transformed him into the appearance of an unassuming but shrewd looking old man. He stroked his beard and browsed the wares as he moved through the marketplace. One magic tool caught his eye in particular. A magic book that was used to alter ones surrounding environment. The young magician saw great use for it in large works projects.

After making the purchase and tucking the Geographer's Plaything away into his robes the magician continued his meandering. Slowly, he made his way deeper into the event grounds. In time he noticed the flutter of rukh in excitement. The rukh were already very active with so many people and magic tools around, but this flock of golden birds stood out to him. Curious, Zion followed the flow of the rukh to whatever encounter fate had in store for him.

The elder magician was currently in a cloak that hid his person so that none would be able to discern who he was. He had come to this auction for the first time that he could rememebr and already picked up and item or two for himself but did not see anything that quite caught his eye just yet though. He needed something with pizaz or great potential. These auctions tend to be an excellent opportunity for people to make connections or find companionship. SO that of course was what the teacher from Kina was interested most in, a budding seed that he could help blossom.

The architect that would one day stand on top, Ustad, was currently at the auction looking for tools that he can use to improve his construction capability. He had found a cestus that apparently talks when you feed something called magoi into it and he thought that this could serve as a nice assistant since he does not care about living beings too much.

Besides that he was not sure what else to look for. He did not bother with a disguise since no one here would know who he was yet. He had not made himself known enough to matter but one day he will. for now he was just wandering the shops

The High Priestess of the Flames would currently be concealed, Withdrawing her well-known pale skin from prying eyes. She had decided to come to the auction for the first time since she had moved to Magno to see what all was being sold. She saw some interesting shapes underneath cloaks and other disguises that seemed to be the current theme this year. Not that she really bothered with this since she did not care who they were anyways. But she would go to the voices she could hear wondering if she would meet anyone that seemed interesting in her travels here, someone she could perhaps baptize in flames.

The young seraphim had spent weeks to two months in magnostadt. This was the first time hearing of such an event, and to even have his bidding ticket win. He knew his father wouldn’t want him in this type of market, but his father also told him to forge his own path, and adventure. Surely the city of magic wouldn’t let down their bright, and eager students of magic. Practically this was the market to be in. Luxkiel eyes shined bright just as much of the merchandise on sale, but he gallantly walked towards the ancient auction house, his objective of this beautiful day.  Many people, and many tents littered the streets, as he would push, and drift through the crowds of many. This was the day he’d claim what he surprisingly brought, and steal behind his cheeky smile he was cautious of what could happen given the nature of the place. However he worried not,  as he’d look for signs,  or obvious crowd flow towards the auction shops. Lukxiel, pressed onward and felt like today, was going to be a great day.

"Where the fuck is he going..." Higan sighed as she lean against the tree, almost wanting to give up looking for her master. It seemed like both of them got distracted to their surrounding and resulted them to be separated from each other. The girl had been walking around for a long time now and even went back and forth to the same place hoping Hyperion would be there. But it was unfortunate because she still couldn't find him anywhere. "At this point I should just go home on my own but I am not in the mood for some punishments today, searching for him like this already counts as one anyway..."

The floating dog tried to cheer Higan up by nuzzling his head on Higan's arm. "Don't feel sorry for me, Koinu. Let's continue looking for him..." Higan sighed and stood up straight, determined to find Hyperion amongst thousand of people. She was very unwilling to do so, but hey, she got no other choice.

Then after unknown period of time wandering around the shops, Higan finally spotted a familiar figure standing in front of a particular shop. She quickly ran towards the man, and grab his sleeves, "I have been looking for you everywhere..."

Amongst the crowds, there were those handing out trinkets, and tools to disguise those that wished to keep their identity hidden. Despite whether or not people would pick one of these three charms, there were faces that had chosen not to hide their identities. Then there were those that were fake, that carried the crow upon their shoulder. A few had managed to run into them, the messengers of Typhon.

Two would come upon a creature that appeared as a walking pinecone, the creature was towering standing at 2.5m tall with a hefty body. Sitting atop his head was the bird, which seemed to have something shiny hiding within its feathers. The one's greeted by this illusion would find their paths crossed. An elderly woman and a strangely dressed man, an odd pair for his gifts, but the voice of a wisened, tired, old man would speak before them. "If I may bother you if you wish to move on you can but would either of you be interested in an exclusive consumable yet to hit the market?" It was strange for the creature to offer a sales pitch, but he was not the only one.

Silva would bump into someone, or what seemed like someone until a closer examination of a magician's eye. The illusion was good, enough to fool lesser magicians. Silva would likely have an issue noticing if he didn't examine, especially with it managing to speak. "I'm sorry to interrupt you sir, but you seem like you're in need of something life-changing." Her voice was sweet but warm, it was as if cinnamon could speak. "Maybe something to help with greatness?" As she continued, a little black crow would hop around her shoulder, cocking its head for the elder in a small bow. It wasn't his only guest, but the second one was a bit more real.

Before them, there was a man sitting down, his clothes were fine but his face was covered. He wasn't a magician, but it wasn't clear who or what he was. It was suspected he could be a normal human, a fanalis was possible but unlikely and it was doubtful this was an immuchak. He didn't have much to contribute to the moment but he would give a bow to Silva as well, since it seemed they would be stopped in front of his place of rest. There wasn't much room to move through so it would force confrontation.  "Seems we have found ourselves in a little route blockage." Illerio would joke, this could've been fate at hand.

While some had disguised themselves with skills of their own, such as the doll Zion. He was hidden well to avoid detection in the market, there were plenty that would wish to harass or examine him. Though luck would find a certain fate when he would run into a sort of kindred spirit. A man-made of bloody glass, and stained iron. It was a golem, one of mysterious origin, he had only run into Zion as he was seemingly running from something. He was unaware of the eye's watching, but he was a golem on the run. "I'm sorry if I am in your way sir, I believe I must get going." Something was strange about this golem, something Zion made not have been able to notice at first unless he chose to look closer.

The Grand Auction: A Tale of Greed and Woe F154089a99c33bef8476404fe236dd25

It was not his only guest though, for a woman clad in rubies was stopped by the pair in a clash. She was well armored, but running into them both would cause her to nearly trip. With all that extra weight it took more effort in order to stand and survive such a thing. "Hey could you both be a bit more careful when walking through here? The place is already crowded enough." The young female knight would note while regaining her footing. It looked as for them the crown had grown quite a bit.

Angelus would wander, finding trinkets here and there but would eventually find his path heading towards that of a larger tent, it seemed there were few who were gathering there. All he could hear was the clattering of voices. Above the tent, it would read "Mysteries of the old world". It was calling to him if he wished to, they would be there for some time, but not forever.

Luxk had weaved in and out the crowds moving from tent to tent only to find himself just having stars and stripes shooting from his eyes at all the items even the lawful and unlawful like items. One woman who seemed to be handing out items to customers had placed a metal band tailored to a bandana in his hands. “ Oh, Thank you. What is this? ” He would ask, and she would explain to him. “ Young boy, many scary people come from far away and like to hide themselves so as free merchandise we give all who attend three different choices of disguises. I saw you, and believed you’d enjoy this one so please enjoy the auctions young one. “ After she said that she continued to hand out the three items to anyone who walked by. Lukx had tied a bandana to his military cap, and infused his magoi into a metal band. A small glow emitting from the top of his head, as an teal colored blaze eloped his body.

With a disguise now, I suppose I should find where my artifact is. I have this ticket, but not any coordinates. Pfft… -sign- ” Smacking his lips, and shaking his head the disguise finished forming around him. Brown stringy, moppy styled hair fell from where his hat used to be, he had grown slightly shorter and gained fake webbed feet, and a fake but almost real turtle shell hid the rest of his body besides his limbs. Lukxiel had become a turtle type of yokai, with a fake fish hanging from his mouth like a toothpick. “ Nice disguise, I’m loving this free item! ” He said excitedly, spreading his arms out looking them over as he now continued onward in search of where to find the item he miraculously bought! The day seemed greater, and only growing at each passing tent he moved to, or from even just the paths to bigger tents made it all seem so great!
