Job Info:

It was on the great roads of Reim, on the outskirts of the Lucania region's vineyards. Just past the southern plains and rocky plains the sound of a beating chariot would roar. For each day he had charged, at night he hosted games for those brave enough to grace his competition. How long had he been gone? The world was so different, his kingdom had been lost between two warring worlds. The north used to be under their first, but now this strange tribe had apparently conquered them. No Kasrow would claim his glory once more. The great stone path was his guide to the heart of the nation but there were still days to come, and just before the bridge's edge, the vanguard would stand waiting.

The four who were brave enough to Reim's calling at this time had to recover themselves. It was a strange bunch, but the nation was never against calling upon its veterans and allies to be of service. While they rest in the north in the forest the legion camped with them. A standard group of 1,000, most relaxed but prepared for the rumors.

As the group walked around, gathering at the center camp they would hear how the people talked. "I hear each night his cavalry grows." Another would say "I hear they're loyal to a fault or that they make deals with him." Each had their own opinions but the enemy was not in sight. Eagles had been sent out to scout, still, their avian allies had yet to return. Reports from the last week said the perpetrator was followed by a small group of 100, but another said it was over 300. They had to be cautious, not to fall to the rumors and tall tales of people saying he had 100,000 undead men at his side.

A Cryer, a trooper sent to deliver the plans to the Reiman defense squad would greet them. "We're still waiting for the enemy to show on the horizon but the idea is a front ambush, keep them narrow on the bridge so we can pick them off before they have a chance to advance. Even if the numbers are larger they should be rather narrow. We have quite some ground but if they break the forest barrier into the vineyards well then some citizens will have a very rough hello."

It was a poorly timed joke for some, but he continued his duties. Leaving them with one small note. "It's best you get in your positions, we expect them to be ushering across in the next hour or so. It could even be earlier, the grounds a little too uneasy for me." The rocks danced, and the river which was deep enough for 4 or 5 men stacked even swayed. Something was approaching with force, but they had the advantage here. It was if the line broke that things would get difficult.

For now, the group needed to plan, to decide. But Kasrow was beginning to coalesce the might of his forces as well. he was used to the game of war, how would Reim and its allies fair against the wisdom of the past?

DM Notes: Choose your positions and discuss plans, will make markers to place on the map, and the enemy will appear next post. But there are surprises to come, and things to be of concern. As this is a battle that may shift fields, it is not a matter of if, but of when.

Zion

Zion

The return from Jedidiah had been delayed by more than a week as Zion spent time in the wilderness to the far south of Reim. It was time well spent. Zion had enjoyed every moment of his arduous task and had the company of his sworn brother to support him through the struggle. But even Zion had to admit that he was a bit sick of sleeping on the rocky ground of the wastelands and foraging for food in a land where even water was scarce. So it was with great expectation and joy that he took to the skies and flew northward back to Remano where soft beds and warm meals could be found easily so long as one has the coin to afford them. Storm winds picked up around the kitsune's body and carried him up into the clouds at high speeds, the youth being eager to experience the fine comforts of civilization once more.

It should have been a smooth journey without worry but Zion made the mistake of looked down as he made his way northward. The countryside below changed from wastelands to the grassy plains of Reim's southern borders and at first the scenery was a welcome change of pace. But then the stretches of grass were obscured by a vast mass of bodies on horseback cutting across the landscape. Fire peppered villages and towering plumes of smoke lay in the wake of that vast horde as it moved north as well on a direct path towards the capitol city. Zion's first assumption was that this force had been born from the tumultuous conflicts that had been going on in Reim since before his own arrival. Zion had been hesitant to get involved in the country's affairs up till now yet still found himself stumbling into the middle of its messes. Zion hoped he could avoid wading into a civil war but still urged his speed to carry him past the raiding horde below and hurry on to Remano.

Arriving in the capitol, Zion attempted to reach out to his contact in the Unity Corps, Trajan, to warn him of the approaching army. But the entire city seemed to already know and an urgent military forced was being organized to go meet the threat. In the city, Zion heard more rumors about the army with details he could not tell from the bird's eye view that he had gotten for himself. Terrified whispers that it was an army of living corpses and that at the head of the scourge was a long dead king of lands almost forgotten to the sands of time. While it wasn't the civil war he feared, the situation hardly seemed better. Zion was eager to leave Reim in order to settle his own business back in Magnostadt, but if he left the nation in the midst of such a crises Zion would probably struggle to forgive himself for it. There were already too many people residing in this land that were important to him for the magician to simply look the other way.

Thus, Zion found himself in the forested camp with the others who had answered Reim's call in her time of need. The gossip here was no better than it had been back in the capitol. Zion couldn't help but sigh and shake his head. He walked over to some of the soldiers who were exchanging hearsay and said with a smile, "It matters not how many stand at his side. The villages they pass through burn all the same. The only thing standing between that grim march and your homes are the people standing here today. Try not to forget that." He then smartly turned on his heel and stepped away. The men had a bad impression of the magician from the start seeing him dressed in blue robes of the Kou style, but his words could not be refuted. Not a one of them retorted as Zion left. Only time could tell if those words had any impact on the fighting spirit of these Reiman men.

The Cryer explained the plan to many and Zion was among them but he was no soldier. He felt no obligation to follow the directives of the Reiman military. Still, he found little to argue against with the plan as it was sound on paper. Hold the enemy at the bridge to form a choke point and chip away at them. Against a conventional army this would surely be an effective strategy. But if the dead were truly raising alongside this great enemy then it was probably safe to say they were anything but conventional. The chance of magic playing a role on this battlefield was great. If the river could be traversed without need of the bridge then this entire plan might backfire. With all the Reiman forces focused on the bridge it would be a simple matter for them to be surrounded and overrun should the enemy cross at multiple points. Zion did not make a scene by calling this out, but he would discretely approach the leadership present attempting to make this point.

"It doesn't have to be many men, but keep some in reserve to deploy in case we get flanked."

Leaving those final words, Zion would then transform into a large bird of prey with a 3m wingspan before their very eyes and flew off towards the south. Across the river and just west of the road was a large tree. It was a bit far from the bridge, but it would give the avian Zion a perch from which to watch the battle unfold. He flapped his wings sending him into the canopy where talons found purchase on a branch just in time to feel the first rumbles of the distant horde. A thunder roll of hooves falling slowly grew in intensity and with it, the anxiety in Zion's heart. He had strolled through that military camp with his head held high, the mask of a man above it all giving him a heroic demeanor. Just as Casvallion had taught him. But at the end of the day it was all a mask. Approaching those gossipers with encouragement had felt awkward, he could only speak to the leadership in private because he lacked courage to speak out about the plan in front of everyone. Even now, he hid in a tree as a bird not because it was the best tactical position. But because he feared what would befall him if he were to fight on the front line and was not willing to die for Reim's cause.

Had had professed to Sollas that he would become a "Great Hero" but Zion could not help feel that he still fell woefully short of that mark. Was this the right mindset for one worthy of such a title? The bird shook its head as if to scatter such self doubting thoughts. The rumble of the approaching calamity was now nearing a roar. The tide of cavalry would be upon him any moment now. Scouts aside, Zion would technically be the first among them to make visual contact with the horde. He peered through the leaves of the tree and watched carefully knowing that his moment to make a difference in this battle could come at any time.

As the Sun invited another week, Zubaidah gazed towards the fires on the horizon. She had known there would be conflict between Reim and Kosrow ever since the race-course in the Parthevian desert, but Zubaidah had not expected this so soon. She had received word from Maelius and Flavrian, both at the same time, each informing her about Reim’s battle-plans against the former Shah. When she told the Hashashin, her fellow mentors had ordered her branch to deal with the Kosrow issue; they wished to test her ability to defend Parthevia if she had to guess.

Can they do nothing without me? She had been defending Tisifun against Kosrow and his forces for days now, Ash and Toads working together, and barely protected them from harm. I can only hope that they keep up their end of the bargain… She had requested support in Tisifun from the Hashashin while she answered Reim’s call, convincing them that her hometown was the first line of defence should Reim or Kosrow fall back into Parthevia, but they had been more than reluctant. As was their response, she could only use the Hashashin from Amakh, since the rest were aiding Parthevian towns further south. Well, I never get the good end, do I?

---

As her small band of thirty-odd passed through Lucanian fields, Zubaidah was greeted with the same sight that dotted the Parthevian countryside: burnt fields, ruined villages, war-torn homes. ‘He cares naught whether one is an innocent or combatant!’ ‘Nor does he care whether they are Reiman or Parthevian…’ ‘I know that you wished for discussion or peace-talks, but I fear the worst.’ Amidst her dark-robed Hashashin, Zubaidah held onto a golden halberd which vibrated with Constantine’s voice - a disguise necessary for their Reiman audience, since he was seen as a Sassanid criminal. ‘I must follow Reim’s orders for now, but I cannot disavow that peace-talks could be an option.’ ‘Know that I am ever at your side then, Sukhainah, even if we make an enemy of Reim itself.’ ‘I do not think that will happen, my friend, or at least I hope not.

After some time, Zubaidah and her Hashashin arrived near the Reiman camp. Dismounting from their jet-black mares, each decorated with gold and lifting an onyx throne between them all, the sentry on duty would be astounded at their unusual combat-gear. Zubaidah was bedecked in her warrior-dress, a masterpiece of Parthevian craftsmanship, with more spears than seemed necessary slung across her back. At her side were the dark-robed Amakh assassins, each wearing masks shaped like silver-blue skulls, making them recognisable as fabled Hashashin. Thought long-since dead, Zubaidah meant for the Hashashin’s return into history to be something historical - and they were dressed for the occasion. After all, if she knew one thing above all else, it was that appearances were more than important.

With the Hashashin at her side, all moving as one like automated soldiers, Zubaidah presented the letters from Maelius and Flavrian. She waited a moment whilst the sentry regained his composure, staring at the skull-masked men with fear and wonder, before he scrambled aside and let them pass into the Reiman camp. They walked past the soldiers and mercenaries gathered there, murmurs of the Hashashin legend reaching their ears, and Zubaidah smiled. She smiled whilst the Reiman military realised that the nebulous Hashashin were alive and present - and on their side.

For now.

Fuwhahaha...."Wow, it's a new battle to fight every day and I'm sick of it. Let's go somewhere where the water is light blue and the sun is always shining. You know a place where I king Ghidorah can relax for once like a haycation." The self-proclaimed King Of The Sea would say as he looked on from a distance. Soon enough Moka would walk up behind him and then playfully kick him as he rolled over. As Ghidorah would scream out as if he was in real pain. He would play dead for the time being. As Moka would look at him like a lioness would her prey. " Changing your name and then putting king in front of it does not make you a king you sea filth." She would say this with a hostile tone towards Ghidorah and then she would end it with. " By the way, it's called vacation you baka."
Next thing next Mya would rush over to her little sea buddy and pick him right up. As she started to clean him off she would plant a kiss upon his forehead to better get him back to feeling good. "Hey, at least he has dreams you know.  If he sees himself as a king then so be it. It's better than running around all day like the world is against you Moka like grow up sometimes." Soon enough Moka and Mya would have a stare-off as the two were waiting on the other to make the first move.

Soon the wind would start to blow and then there would be Ghost. As he stared at the bridge from afar. He would put a smile on his face as he looked back at his Ohana he would wave for them to leave. To wish Mya would say to him." Forgive me if this seems out of line but we are your protectors please allow at least one of us to go with you." Ghost would look on and then say to her. " No too dangerous for even me. But if all goes to plan then maybe just maybe you all can tag along next time. Now then return to the hunt and I will see you all tomorrow if the rukh allows me to."
Just as he said that the trio would soon watch as Ghost went off and then he would make his way to the camp. Ghost has entered the Faye and hopefully, his Fate will tell how he bested death yet again.

Angelus

Angelus
A-Tier
A-Tier

A somber man was to lie, waiting, for his call to duty. It unsettled him to his core. How could this occur? Angelus' sun kissed face was to stare up to the sky, utterly confused about what was coming down upon Reim, suddenly. In the torn land that bordered Reim and Parth, a marauding militia of men led by a dead man were to begin targeting whichever cities that may lie within his and his forces' path. In his wake, he left pillaged and razed villages. Hm, so the vengeful King was truly just that angry, huh? However, the jury was still out on what brought a dead man back to life, and with such power.

It shook Angelus, a man whom had yet to ever hear of such an event before besides that one time.. yes, that one Emperor from the far east. Hm, what was the name again? Ah, yes, Gao Yuan Zu. Angelus was to rub his chin, his beneath sat down on top of a dead log. It must be the work of some sort of power higher than that of the kings crowned by dungeons.

If that was the case, Angelus could only be led to believe that this may be the work of a Magi, but he truly had no way of knowing for certain. However, that did not matter. Angelus was to stand up mighty to the call to duty, so he may protect the nation he had so proudly made an effort to serve, Reim.

In the dusk of night, as the soldier camped out with his men that were to play a part tomorrow defending the nation, he was to stare forlornly towards the dark forest that the red hot bonfire barely lit up. It was quite normal for Angelus to lose himself just pondering on the strategy of battle. It seemed from the reports that this Kasrow fellow, the king of an early Parthevia, had found himself a few hundred men.

However, Angelus was determined to show this man firsthand, that the new world was not one to take lightly. It was not every day one had the opportunity to do combat with a King, so, the hopeful ruler wished to prove his worth here.

Upon this new day, the soldiers and defense squad were to concoct their plan to take down him, Kasrow, and his dead followers. Angelus was quite stoic, standing with the other members of the defense squad. In his red coat he laid garbed, his special made linothorax underneath. In the squadron, the soldier was to meet with a few very familiar faces he had met once before.

It would be rather rude of him not to greet them? Angelus, being a public figure, he was to say hello to the others, before telling them what he'll be doing. It was pertinent they knew Angelus' place within the greater plan. In the rank and file behind the trees, the famed soldier was to stand, deciding to offer himself up to be the tank, so the others can properly surprise Kasrow.

Angelus: "I wish you three well, I will take up the lead with the rank and file behind the trees but feel free to join here or join the surprise welcome party we'll be hosting for that dead man!"

Exclaimed the man, his eyes set on halting Kasrow.

The Bridge began to shake as if the stones themselves would start to hop out of the path. The vibrations traveled through the earth into the river. The ripples started as nothing but small shimmers, but the stampede caused it to turn into rapids. They had felt it grow, and grow until small shadows danced on the horizon. Quickly a small speck began to swell until it was approaching faster than one could expect. Faces and form could not be made at first, what manner of man would approach Reim so daringly if inspired by an undead King? With his will, his newly acquired followers carried forth the rage of the past. For they themselves were walking relics of the past. In mere days, he had gathered those left dead in the wake of his games, the fallen heroes of the past.

What was terrifying dimwitted, or maybe pure rage was they all filled the bridge. A veritable sea of black and withered bodies, with clothes and styles mixed between the ages, some of people and time unknown. There were fifty thousand bodies, charging down the path, but that was just the humans. He had not just brought back the warriors, the woman, and the children too. Their gaunt expressions would become clearer even hundreds of meters apart. The sound, the groaning, and moaning of the ghastly pain that was wrought fourth was a chorus. The disharmony of their cries was enchanting in its own right. The real roar of this song was the undead fauna which seemed to be uncountable.

They would be at the edge of the path, they however had no care for the river, for the fear of drowning. Gazelle, rats, squirrels, lions, eagles, bears, and wolves charged. The most terrifying of the group, a family of great Carthagan Elephants. Of all these animals, none of them were the king himself. No, Kasrow was in the air, above the army a hundred meters in the air, his chariots mounts had taken the shape of great eagles. At the front, his artifact had taken the shape of a Huma.

If they wished to fight, they could come to him or just deal with the mighty battalion. If they chose to attack from the river then they would be forced to deal with the zoo of death. It was a difficult choice right off the diving board. The fox who had chosen to get closer would be the first to see what they would have to face, to see the horrors that were crawling towards them all. It more than anything was a choice. It was a choice of to aim for the sky, or to face the disaster before them. Could they deal with both? Kasrow didn't think so, he planned to take advantage of this moment, it was the perfect assault.

DM Notes: Army and animals have moved 40m ahead, if Zion is still hiding in the trees near the bottom corner like you planned you will be running into them. Kasrow is above the bridge 100m in the air. He is being pulled by his household and his artifact.

Yellow is the army and the green is Kasrow. Have fun with your decisions.

Zion

Zion

An aura of terror and the stench of rotting flesh accompanied the vast horde's advent. Zion watched the horrors advance as a great wave across the land. Their march held no intent to line up orderly to cross the bridge. It charged forward as though the river ahead were no obstacle at all. The magician could only assume that meant they had the ability to do so. The Reiman plan was doomed from the start. Zion wracked his brain for a solution as the undead forces passed by below the branch he had perched upon. The skyfaring king above had not escaped his notice. Zion suspected that the key to ending this was with Kasrow. Yet he did not recklessly rush out to meet the vengeful king. If he didn't do something about the horde first then the soldiers across the bridge would surely be overwhelmed. Even with great warriors among them, the enemy was simply too great in number.

Avian features gave way to humanoid ones as Zion returned to his original form. The fox ears and nine tails emerged with a stretch as as he stood up amidst the canopy and pulled himself around to the north side of the tree. There, he dropped to the ground with his wand in hand pointing down towards the solid ground at his feet. Magoi flowed according to the young magician's focused urging even as the rumbling of great beasts flaked him on either side. If not for this massive tree's great trunk acting as a rock in a stream to part the torrential flow then Zion surely would have been trampled. He would give his thanks to this ancient old monster of a tree as his magoi surged to scale the spell and his wand pointed upwards causing a sudden Vibrant Growth to take place all around him.

Zion focused some of this spell into the great tree that had sheltered him in order to let it grow even more as the ground in a 100m diameter ripped open with plant life. Dense forest trees rose up in front of a portion of the horde and up beneath many a beast's very feet. The trees would grow without care to the burden and lift those beasts 40m into the air at the most dooming those among them unable to climb down safely to a hard fall. Even if the stronger beasts behind smashed their way through the trees, the fallen debris would become an obstacle in and of itself. It wasn't much, but it should lessen the immediate pressure Reim's defenses would face on their west flank. The work was far from done with this, however.

A fox's scream pierced the air as the storm kitsune transformed into a being made of arcing lightning. The lightning fox ran eastward propelled by storm winds to zap out of the forest he'd made and into the horde cutting a line perpendicular to their charge. The fox's nine tails were spread out as he ran. Every beast or soldier that brushed past this intangible elemental creature would suffer B-tier damage as its lightning body violently shocked whatever it touched. This movement would carry him across the center and into the eastern flank where he would begin to look for elephants to target. Zion hoped to take out the largest and most intimidating of the beasts or perhaps even use them to Reim's advantage!

As Ghost stood still he was in the far back of the camp. This was going to be a show for the ages. That army its power was far greater than it seemed. Ghost could tell because the Black Rukh it was letting off was truly one to behold. It was as if the night sky was covering the bridge. He could see all this from the very edge of the bridge. As he looked around he would begin to see people taking their battle stance. But no one was truly getting ready to set up a defense. Looking on had would see a dungeon beast it seemed. As lightning was bouncing off of it. Ghost would be in awe as it truly was something to behold as well. Soon he would look up in the sky and take notice of the being known as Kasrow. "I guess legends truly never die now do they."
"However, new legends tend to rise and set new legacies. Where the old ones would fall from GRACE. This thing is in my way and I have no time to play the victim to his vengeful ways. As Ghost looked on he would yet to move as he set himself up to make a move. As he held up his magical tool arm. He would smile. As he said out loud to himself and anyone that would be listening in on him. " Kasrow, your rule was nothing short of legendary and if you truly love this land then you would leave it be. You would allow its new leaders to continue what you and others have started. I am going to save you from yourself. You have my word from King to King now then make the first move. As the Reiman soldiers mobilised, Zubaidah greeted Angelus with a handshake and some quiet words, ‘As Reim, so Parthevia, eh?' She smiled without any clarification, full red as a rose in bloom, before dismissing the Hashashin from her side. She wanted to tease him further but Zubaidah could not allow dear Gilgamesh cloud her judgement, for Kosrow was indeed a threat to her homes of Reim and Parthevia both.

As such, drawing a Night Talon into one hand, Zubaidah pointed Constantine at mighty Kosrow. With one small click, her Luna Heels flashed into Midnight Flight, and bore the Parthevian woman level with Parthevia’s former king. ‘With the most humble of respects, may I challenge you to a duel, my king?'

As she posed her challenge, Zubaidah alighted upon a wide-boughed tree midway across the Lucanian bridge, and bowed her head towards Kosrow. Drawing two more Night Talons, she drove them into the wizened branches, makeshift scabbards for her blades, ‘It would be my greatest honour if an exalted king of my homeland, whom I have admired since childhood, would accept.' Regardless of his answer, Zubaidah would activate her Parthevian Raiment into Vortex Embrace.

It was quite the rampage that Kasrow brought upon the steps to the stone bridge. How troublesome. Angelus was to witness Zubaidah fly forth for the dead man once she had finished greeting him, and shaking his hand. Hmph, the woman was rather meddlesome, but the man knew the maiden to be a kind soul. Angelus being far from the combat with the undead militia, he was to begin to traverse forward for the bridge. It seemed that the lightning fox, Zion, had started to strike.

It were to be a wise choice Angelus felt to near closer to the combat, so he may be capable of supporting either Zub or Zion. Angelus did hope that the horde could be held back, cause truly, he did want to halt the lord of this undead militia first and foremost, Kasrow. However, that were to surely prove tricky, since the undead ruler was flying within the sky, where Angelus' blade could sadly not reach. Angelus had to keep his eye on both the horde and the Kasrow fellow that he had to ensure was kept at bay.

"I'm not here to play games child, if you wish to revel in the past then visit my camp at night. Otherwise, all of you can be gone!" Kasrow would roar out. His voice was dry, hoarse with the centuries of decay. It was a sign of the condition he was stuck in, of the afterlife his body had been living. All these people were unaware of the game they were truly in. He could not stay from death forever, it was not a matter of if he would die again. It was one of if they would be able to defeat him, to mitigate the damage before that time would come.

An Ebony Hawk Soaring and Empowering arrow would fire from Kasrow, he wasn't sure what the parthevian woman's abilities, and that's why he reinforced his shot to make it harder to destroy. The hunt was on, but he had no desire of slowing down his march. While he and those on the bridge did well, the animal horde did find themselves in a bit of trouble. The undead beasts would feel the shocks interrupt their spell, their lifeblood. Some would have their second death, being swept into the current as a grand tree would grow. A further forest was on their battlefield, it annoyed, and irritate Kasrow.

The Reiman legion was small, but they stood their ground, as the undead moved farther on the bridge, they would meet in the middle. Bodies clashed, some being pushed into those that ran along the edge of the bridge. If they wanted to meet the dead, if they wished to stand in his way then they would need a proper greeting. The unending army would roar an Unearthly Wail to fill the whole battlefield. The living, they would all find it a rather unpleasant symphony. It would interrupt the army's charge and hopefully these other strange meddling kids.

Zion, while he was being met with the sound, would experience only more trumpeting noises as 2 Elephants, four meters tall began to approach him, charging even. They were heavily intent on turning him into a river pancake. These beasts would do their best to stomp the puppet boy out.

COMBAT NOTES: Kasrow has fired an Ebony Hawk Soaring and an empowerment shit to give it clashing defense against Zub as Kasrow is suspicious of her.

Trees have interrupted the animal horde slightly, the dead on the bridge have met some soldiers but have used their wails to disorient everyone within 500m that hears it

In his lightning fox state there was no complex thoughts or plans. Only instinct as it tore through the undead forces. But even so he could tell that his magic was especially effective against them. Excitement urged the storm winds that carried his steps harder even though he was already at the limit of what his powers would allow. Onwards to his target of intercepting the elephants. But just as the fox arrived zapping into position there was an unearthly wail that crashed into his electrical body causing the defined fox shape to become unstable and fuzzy as the intense noise pierced through the magic. But the sound eventually faded and the lightning fox became defined once more. But it was only in time to see his previous objective come stomping down onto him. A sense of fear rose up in the fox for a moment, it's body bending to start a retreat that would have been too late anyways. But the massive feet were shocked violently the moment they touched the electric body.

Zion would have normally scolded himself for how silly it had been to be fearful. He was the bane of all these undead creatures! But in his lightning fox form there was only the passion and excitement that built up from the sense of empowerment that came from seeing two giant beasts topple in front of him. The lightning paws kicked off the ground zapping back towards the center of the great horde shocking as many of the undead as he could by moving directly through their ranks. Once the ground beneath the lightning fox turned from grass to stone it remembered the bridge. He was not along on this battlefield. A sense of duty drove the fox to turn north. A battle cry erupted from the lightning fox in a sort of righteous and holy scream to counter the wails of the undead before and bring courage back to those fighting against the terrors!

"Rwaaaaar!"

Lightning arced across numerous undead soldiers as Zion charged into the forces that assaulted the bridge from behind shocking all that touched his lightning body. Zion would run unfettered by the mass of decaying flesh ahead. His intention to keep plowing through dead bodies until he reached the living ones on the other side. When at last the sight of Reiman soldiers met him, Zion jumped arcing over his allies where upon landing he would transform back into his human form. This was the longest Zion had ever spent in his lightning fox form. Something in him felt reluctant to turn back, but he also felt like staying in it too long would have negative effects. The magician clenched his fist as he stood up from all fours and looked around to check the state of the battle, pushing his introspective concerns about his transformation aside until the conflict was dealt with.

As he looked on Ghost could see that a spell was cast. To the naked eye, they won't be able to tell until the said spell was cast and came about. As he looked on Ghost would have a smile on his face. Seeing as he started to hear what he believed was lightning. Ghost would start to walk towards the fallen king as he would then say out loud, "The story you could tell if only I can get to your body and reap your soul where you lay. But for now, I will allow these allies of mine to work you down." just as he was walking towards the king he would notice. That his own rukh started to come forth. As he looked on he would realize that his

As Ghost pulled out his stave and wand. He would still be running. straight towards the king being now 400m away yet still straight ahead right in front of the king who has yet to move clearly from where he was.  As the wave of sound came towards Ghost he was more than able to handle it because of his Borg.

As she watched Kosrow release his hawk-shaped arrow, Zubaidah clasped her necklace and clad herself in a Salamander Coat. She stood her ground and took the attack head-on, but lost her balance as the full-force sent her falling down a layer of branches. It was an awkward first impression, having hoped that she could withstand his attack, yet Zubaidah was not deterred. She readied her spear for a new assault and…

White noise filled her ears.

She clasped her forehead, reeling from the sound. Not again… Holding onto a nearby branch, she barely managed to stand up straight. Why does this always happen? She could not make out her surroundings, blood rushing everywhere but her head. Why am I still paying for this? Steadying herself, she tried to ignore the voice that screamed inside her mind. Why?! She could feel it growing louder… Why?! She could not stop it coming to the forefront… Why?!

Black rukh leaked outwards from every pore within her body.

Why do dead people keep trying to mess with our lives?!’ Ipos flashed into sight, haunting Zubaidah as she had every night. ‘You died already, so why can’t you stay dead?!’ She remembered Father’s vision, and Gamigin’s, where Il Illah had painted the world black. ‘Why can’t we just live our lives in peace instead of constantly killing each other over the past?!’ Images flooded her pitch-black eyes; her mother, her father, her household, those from her homeland, others from lands she had called home, all dead because past and present could not co-exist. All left without a future…

Just as the black rukh screamed into a fever pitch, one or two white birds fluttered about Zubaidah’s head. ‘So how about you sleep again?’ She could feel Constantine’s warmth cleanse her mind, casting Echo Chamber to put her mind back on track, and that inky black was lifted from her eyes. ‘Cos I’m tired of this shit, and you.’ A white expanse flooded the sky and land, as the First Snow descended.

Zubidiah and Angelus were the only two unlucky enough to find themselves caught in the screams of the dead. While the warrior kept back with some of the soldeirs most struggled onto the bridge. The horde had flooded enough to where they would be around the purple-haired parthevian. Even despite the reaction, she would summon snow onto the battlefield. The blizzard whipped, slowing down the army's procession. The real issue was that of their numbers, but it was enough to put a small dent in their progression. It was a sickening crawl, the frigid corpses looking into Zub's eyes, a dreadful longing pushing their rage. It was looking into a frozen crevasse on winter midnight, nothing but sorrow was00 visible to her. Not even the rukh would speak to Zub, only wails, only the requiem of those who tortured.

The army had sustained decent damage, but the range in which the attacks the lightning fox had provided had only done so much. It had managed to cut down most of its numbers. Their ranks had turned into nothing more than an aggravated mass. As a last hoorah, a corpse boulder began to roll towards those all on the bridge, it was enough to take up the whole bridge, blocking the proper view of Kasrow. Zub was solely focused on him, but it would likely work against her if she didn't react fast to the attack.

The undead Shah smirked, loading his bow one more time, drawing a Falling Shot Flock enhanced by an Empowering Arrow. It would rain down in a 70m diameter. the arrows falling down in a spread as the magic split it into miniature shards. He still needed to protect himself, a Grand Procession would form from his chariot, this would be his guard if any of them chose to try and meet him in the air. His voice began to boom, warning them all. "Make your choice, fight and die, or live to see another day. I don't think any of you would wish to join my army!"

The capable dead were no longer useful for fighting these champions, but that meant nothing for the Legion, or the people just beyond the border of that bridge. If he crossed it, the fight would be entering new territory and that is what he wished for. From the horizon, more undead seemed to come. There were more dead than there were living, and they wanted their homes back. Or so they did under the beck and call of the dark djinn Orpheus that compelled Kasrow.

DM Notes: star marker is Zion, I expect you to be on the bridge by the end of your post so ignore current position and let me know were on the bridge you were heading.

The Undead army has taken enough damage to no longer be a real enemy, but they are still a plot element and must be considered for the things to come. The horde on the bridge has been slowed though by Zub's last snow. I would argue that last snow is partially canceled out on Kasrow as it does say it slows by freezing limbs and Kasrows ride is being tugged by two separate sources of A-tier movement speed, the artifact may be affected but I'd argue household passive is not affected.

Zub and Ghost have the 50m diameter boulder headed towards them, this was the last attack of the army, they cannot defend or use abilities after this post. There is also a 70m in diameter rain of arrows  spreading from L-21 outward

Riled with magic, Zubaidah was unable to control her anger towards Kosrow. Not caring for her well-being, or those around herself, she cast another Salamander Coat and launched herself towards Kosrow. As she leapt from the treetop, however, she was pushed back by Kosrow’s transformed arrows. Black and white rukh bursting from her body, Zubaidah sprang to her feet again and snapped her silver-covered fingers. In an instance, the snows around Kosrow solidified into a blue Fimbulwinter spear that pierced his side, stabbing into his Grand Chariot.

Despite his efforts behind enemy lines the situation the Reiman troops found themselves in remained an unenviable one. Nearly everyone had been disoriented by the wails from earlier, though Zion took note of Ghost appearing to still have his wits about him. Then the snow began to fall and a fierce wind started kicking up. Looking to the bridge the kitsune doll saw that the undead appeared to be charging in a possessed frenzy. What madness compelled these corpses to tumble unto one another until a giant ball was formed, Zion could not fathom. But they had done it. The rolling mass grew as it trampled the undead before it and was quickly swelling to take up the entire bridge!

"Stand firm, soldiers!"

Zion shouted as he gestured for Ghost to advance with him and in a brief gust he rushed up to the front of the Reiman line just a few meters away. The silver haired magician appeared before the soldiers with his nine tails spreading outward. The leftmost tail gathered magoi and then swiped towards the ball of undead unleashing a ring of statically charged wind. At the same time, he held up his left hand. The Magic Smith's Hammer glinted proudly in his hand but the magoi he channeled there was focused on the unassuming ring around his index finger. Deep Blue was activated and the sound of rushing water thundered as a 30m sphere just as the static ring struck one of the undead in the ball triggering aMandorla Maelstrom.

The storm would rage despite being doused in water shocking the soldiers caught inside or those that crashed into its exterior. The violent winds would knock the soldiers 5m away with each collision, but the Deep Blue's water pressure combined with a vortex formed by the storm would pull them back down into the lightning charged maelstrom. The blizzard snow would arrive at the same time causing frost to form on the outer shell of the orb which was sucked into the vortex becoming sharp ice shrapnel to further tear any undead that entered to shreads.

Both spells would persist and hold the mouth of the bridge for a time against the endless tide of bodies. Time enough for the Reiman soldiers to regain their sense, he hoped. The blizzard, however, he could do without. Unfortunately hope was drowned out along with the sun as the light dimmed. Zion looked up to see a fast spreading shower of arrows descending over the area and his heart crumpled with terror. Not for himself, but for the many lives this rain of death would claim. "Please make it!" The magician shouted as he closed his eyes and prayed to the rukh with a strained look on his face. One of his tails swayed as the hair on it grew and braided itself into several tough strands. The braided Flowing Locks weaved together as they grew and spread out to shroud himself and those nearby from the arrows. Alas, he could not cover all of them.

The arrows arrived and Zion's braided weave would strain under the impact. The braids frayed and sunk inward suddenly  when the arrows struck. The sound of hair tearing and ripping could be heard as the weave fell apart but the arrows had already spent all their force and would fall harmlessly along with the scraps of silver hair. Zion and those close enough to be under cover were safe, but the same could not be said for everyone. Cries of pain would ring out but Zion forced himself to ignore them as he turned hi attention upwards to the source of all the misery instead. For now, he had to stay below and maintain his spells on the bridge. But Zion was now glaring through the snow at Kasrow's obscured figure and the great company of flying mounts around him with a furrowed brow.

In the face of the horde, Angelus and the men were to take stance and guard the bridge valiantly, but the sheer overwhelming numbers of undead were to pile up. It ended up forming a wall of undead that blocked the view of Kasrow, but that was fine for now. Angelus was to notice that Zubaidah was to use a magic function of one of her tools to begin brewing a snowstorm. It seemed to be her plan to slow the coming horde, but would this be enough?

Angelus was to remain rather calm though, despite the chaos that had begun to ensue. It was not unlike him to simply keep a close eye, and wait for the opening. Angelus was a calm fighter, one who did not tend to let emotions get the best of his person. It was by keeping an eye on this field of chaos that Angelus was to take notice of bolts being fired.

Tch.. surely can't be good for Reim's troops. In order to protect himself and what troops he could, Angelus was to feed his gourd of black sand magoi, ordering the metals to form a 20m diameter shield overhead. It was more than capable of guarding the men, but what else could this horrific Kasrow have to throw out at them? Angelus had to make a careful decision on how to slay that dead man, but how?

Kasrow was amused by how quickly they had responded. The weather ate away at them all, winds whipping against their bodies turning the battle into a near slow crawl. The dead died again and again as Zion managed to create a great pool that turned into a storm incarnate as the water turned into daggers of hail. Bodies were fried, frozen, and filleted amidst the grand spell, which would keep Ghost and the Doll safe from the boulder. Even the arrows would be held back by reinforced fox hair. Zubidiah simply shrugged off the attempts with her magical defenses, even Angelus had finally rallied to defend his fellow troops with a barrier of iron sand.

Then, came the shard of blue ice that would try to strike his side, he was quick not but quick enough. A Sand-Hawk Hook fired from his bow would grab the spear pulling it towards him. While he had grabbed the attack, it would freeze his left arm and chest, spreading down to his left leg as well, but he had redirected its flow and would toss it towards Zubidiah. A taste of her own medicine to put them on equal playing fields. For a moment his sole attention would be on her, he would use both Bestial Conversion and Ruler's Regalia. The Silver Pegasus combined with the chariot, both mixing with him to force the resplendent armor of Ebony and Argentum.

Now he could take any attack, he could take on most of them. No fear rested upon his laurels, nothing but the rage of a king lost past. His rage flared the rukh, it flared the dead that continued forward. It was a mess amongst a field of attacks, the rukh began to flutter amongst the storm of blackbirds. A single, small golden rukh would fly past Zion, past Ghost and Zubidiah who charged the king. This angered him, this brought rage to his heart, enough to try and fire an arrow towards Ghost, while flying towards the parthevian to strike her with his metallic hands.

Combat Notes:

Used sandhawk hook to indirect clash as it's not exactly an attack, took B-tier effectiveness to freeze three limbs.
Used basic action to throw Fimbulwinter spear back, as it was grabbed but froze up the body.
Use two abilities to reinforce body and limbs the abilities being Bestial Conversion and King's Regalia, limbs should be active as ice has been covered by two layers of armor which should break it. If you have an issue with this B-tier damage will be applied to the armor
used a basic attack arrow on Ghost and is flying towards Zub to try and attack her as well.

Other efforts were made to shelter the soldiers and to Zion's great relief there seemed to be more of them unscathed than he had though possible. That hopeful news did not reduce his animosity towards Kasrow however. As the magician glared upwards through the howling snowy winds he took note that the undead king was too busy dealing with others to pay him any mind. The frown at Zion's lips turned to a mischievous smirk. His swordwand tapped the hammer in his other hand before moving to his chest pointed upwards at Kasrow. Two Incisive Taps thrust out in quick succession. The first one unleashed an Inversing Buzz and the second thrust fired a Ray at full power once it came to a halt.

Two spells, one after the other, hurled towards Kasrow. First to arrive would be the Inversing Buzz. Inconspicuous within the blizzard, it was unlikely the sovereign would even notice the ball of sound magic. The many layers of armor worn by the king would do little to protect him from the perception swap of this spell and likely send his actions into a brief spiral of chaos as he adjusted to the spells effects. In less than a second after the Ray would arrive. The warmth of the light beam would melt through the snow wherever it passed as it cut a line towards Kasrow to start the process of damaging his armor in order to reach the man within.

As Zion finished casting his two spells his many tails went to work emerging from his wanderer's cloak once again. Using his Omni-Dexterity Zion used the tails to bring almost all of his gear forward to bare. The gladiator's sword and bronze shield were each held by his left most and right most tails respectively. His middle tail wrapped around the nightmare rifle and leveled it to aim at the airborne king. The tail left of center clutched a Jar of Oilclay and right of center was a tail sporting a few magic nails protruding from the tail's hair. With the magic rings on either hand, now only the swordsman's cloth remained hidden from sight.

As he looked on he would start to realize that he was not alone in this battle. Besides the lightning fox beast person, he was fighting with. As he looked on he could tell that they all had a reason for being here and that was to stop this guy.
Looking on he would notice Zubaidah was here as well. Was she going to try to stop this guy alone or aid them in battle? Everyone was fighting the same fight yet no one was grouping up. It was as if they were asking to be picked apart one by one. Soon enough his attention would snap back into battle as he looked on to see arrows coming in at him. He would quickly start to dodge them as they seem to be coming at him at a fast pace. However, he was at a safe distance to get out of the way of the lot."

As he was still close to the lightning fox he would start to have a few ideas of his own. But he doubts that he could grow much bigger than that. As Ghost would say out loud in a sort of semi-rage tone. "IF ONLY I COULD GET UP THERE WITH HIM...I'LL KNOCK HIM RIGHT OUT OF THE SKY." Looking around he would start to try and analyze the bridge to see if he could run up or something. As of this distance, Ghost was pretty much useless and so was the others if all they did was fight off the zombies. Still in his speed boost coat. Ghost was getting ready to test his luck. "Well let's just see how immoral I really am. Looks like I will have to make a straight shot right at him." [Ghost would begin to move side to side as a way to not be a sitting duck. Welp, the soldier had defended his men. Yet, the issue still nonetheless stood on how he, a foot soldier leading his men could bring that man down from the heavens, down to the ground. Angelus was to suddenly remember then though the gift of the winds he had received, one that could perhaps grasp that dead man. It was to be then that the soldier was to progress onward with his men valiantly, prepared to bring Kasrow down.

Angelus was to try to support the forces beside Ghost directly, just a tad farther than Zubaidah, on the right side of Ghost. It was to be there that Angelus was to command his men to stand tall, forming a barrier of shields, with spears between the shields, prepared to stab whatever comes forth. In that moment though, once their formation was up, Angelus was to feed magoi to his gauntlet. Once his comrades had got their share of strikes at Kasrow, Angelus was to then proceed.

It would glow with gold, before then a 3x3 cloud of wind would throw him up 20m. Angelus then followed that up by changing the cloud to that of a 26cm menacing hand, with sharp talons, stretching out for Kasrow from directly below his field of view. It was to gut for his left frozen over arm, Angelus' talons, wishing to abruptly grasp and throw the undead man from the skies down unto the bridge with a berserking rage.

Angelus was to certainly fall though once the cloud no longer supported his weight, and so would drag the dusty old man down to hell, where he belonged. Kasrow did not belong within this world of light that Angelus hoped to forge, but rather, the underworld where he was laid to rest. If the soldier was to fall and hit the ground, he was to feed magoi to his armor to prevent bodily harm, coating his body within the gold embrace.

As the first blade of ice would aim for Kasrow his armored fist would meet it just as quick to break the spear. Shards flew forth with the hail adding to the storm's materials. The hail was nothing more than a nuisance, but unknown to him a troublesome song rode on the wind, hitting just as he broke the first spear. His body stopped working or stopped moving properly. It was as if his body did the exact opposite of what he wished. Trying to fire his bow the wrong hand moved, smacking it into his face as the second spear of ice began to freeze his body over. The cold reminded him of death. Of those last days, of the void, of the sleep that lasted too long.

That moment was shattered, as Zion's attack pierced, damaging his armor. It was far from broken but the light brought him back to his senses. Sadly, it wasn't enough as the sheltered soldier now cannoned towards him. His hand thrust down on Kasrow with enough force to throw him to the earth. The soldier had been smart to armor his body, as the force would've been enough to break more than a couple of bones. The Shah himself would take damage from both the smack and the impact upon the ground. Dust, stone, and water from what flew into the river filled the air.

For a moment there was no sign of their opponent. It seemed almost as if he perished but the army still persisted. While the area around them was filled with snow which slowed all it seemed as if Kasrow had retreated to the earth below, for in the space he fell there was now a hole. His household may have fitted his body but its ability to traverse places still applied. Now uninhibited by the storm, he was burrowing around at his peak speed.

The king may not have had the best control of his body, but even with sides inversed it did not matter as long as dug, kicked, and crawled through tunnels he would create. Their only sign would be his entry point. The question was, where was he going? His armor had yet to be destroyed but he would not show his face and the entrance soon was filled by the horde of undead. Their bodies didn't stop moving or stop piling and the animals had been slowed as they made their way through the rivers, now close to the trees the vineyards just outside Reim were in peril.

It was up to them to find him, to see which of the fighters he was aiming for. Zubidiah was a good bet, as she had been who he was aiming for beforehand. But, Angelus and Zion had provided the efforts to bring him to earth. There was also the matter of Ghost, who had moved well in the attack heading for him but he was a sitting duck in his position on the bridge, all he would have to do is dig through the air earth back into the bridge.

DM Notes: Clashes first spear with A-tier damage from the artifact, second hits as Zions inverting buzz does gets broken as A-tier ray strikes. Gets swatted to earth by Angelus, and disappears by burrowing in the earth amongst the debris that would be thrown into the snowstorm more.

3 A-tiers worth of damage were taken, and three more were required to destroy the combined armors.
