There were four known forces within the war, the Nobles of Heliohapt, the Slaves of Al-Shamshura, The Independents, and the mysterious force within the capital. However, to them all there was something odd that had begun to appear, forces that seemed to be against anyone and everyone, was there existence to a fifth force, or was it all a part of a conspiracy? This was unsure, but for a few figures in the war, some of the clues were starting to come together. There was someone or something operating even further behind the scenes than Tartarus.

This was odd, but what was even odder was when the clues started to point towards a place on the map, and soon enough all the pieces were linked when Lagi, Humayra, Gilles, and Angelus were all given a piece of a map, leading to a cave near the coast of the border between the corrupted lands. Was it a trap, or was it salvation?

None of them would know the truth just yet, but as they would all start to arrive on their time they would notice that the cave was obvious in the distance, water crashing upon the rocky barriers that separated them like teeth to an open mouth. What would await them all inside?

Ever since Gilles and her cultists had arrived here they had been plagued not by bandits but other unknown forces. First there was the Blood Camels which had appeared twice to the cultists and other bandit groups. They seemed to hate anyone in this land that was not them. Then there was the Vipers that they knew even less about as they just randomly showed up one day. Now they had gotten a map to a cave that might end up leading them to learn a bit more about these mysterious groups. Or maybe this was just for treasure. they would find out soon.

Gilles and her two top fighters, Husk and Dawn, followed the map to a cave which caused gilles to shiver as she saw the water near the entrance. Well they would begin to head into the cave with all of the gear ready for anything and eager to find treasure or whatever was in here.

With Lagi arriving on the island while using his piece of the map, he wondered if there was anything in particular that he was missing within the war. He would have hoped that he covered everything, but with the desperate actions of some and the ruthless actions of others.  Either way, Lagi was here and fully prepared for anything that happened. In a sense, Lagi figured himself to be a hard opponent to face if the island was plagued with any weird occurrences or problems. The last time that Lagi had something like that occur was on the shrouded isle, the same place he found out about the power source and saw what it was capable of when it kept making legendary beings to protect the island.

"What is it about this island that's so important?"

"This is where the map leads to?" Humayra asked Al-Sadek, the girl's Snake-Fang necklace swaying freely in the salty ocean breeze as she leaned across the cave's ominous entrance for a better look inside. A dark stalagmite ridden mouth greeted the Fanalis girl, shedding little to no light on the mysteries of what might lie deeper within.

"Yes. According to this scrap of the map we have, this is where it's indicated." Al-Sadek thought better of pointing to and showing Humayra the location on the map she'd pushed onto him. "I can't read this, and I've never used a map before." These had been her excuses for putting Al-Sadek in charge of the scrap of parchment he now held.

Either way Humayra was curious. Returning to Al-Sadek's side the Fanalis girl shed the pack of supplies she'd brought with them and rummaged through it. "It's dark inside." Humayra's voice sounded less surprised and more informative when she spoke about the cave. "Here, take this but don't light it." Pulling out a pair of torches, one of which she handed over to her companion, Humayra proceeded to light her own. Sticking the torch between a set of rocks, she replaced the supplies onto her back.

With the singular torch lighting their way, neither Humayra nor her compatriot knew what to expect when they proceeded to delve into the cave's depths but she knew one thing was for certain.

She would find out...

It was from the northern winds he came, with his light colored red cloak wavering ever so slightly when he were to arrive. Nothing special but equipment on him. It was from a map he had received that he had learned of this location that the map seemed to point towards. However, the purpose of the map was unknown. Yet, the white haired man definitely understood that the peculiar events of recent past were likely connected to this map. Gilgamesh had gone persevered long and arduous events within the wartorn and chaotic lands of the south. Adorned upon his ears were colorful earrings. Attached to his legs were bracers made from iron with a particular eagle design, embodying the likes of the Reim state back home. It was with this gear, black lipstick, and somber presence, that he embarked on this odd investigative journey to try to learn of the mysteries that have been plaguing as far as the northern lands of Parthevia where he had mainly been based. It was time to get to the bottom of this. Gilgamesh went forth, to uncover the secrets within this awful war, this pit of death and despair. How cruel fate was, so what will the truth behind these oddities and secrets be once discovered? Gilgamesh entered the sharp rocked mouth of the cave with a torch, lighting the path, being very cautious.

Gilgamesh: "Is anyone here..?"

Said the man with a loud but relaxed voice.

When the opportunity for something to go unnoticed happened most of the time it was something that was noticed, yet unperceived as people often like to only perceive what they want too. This must've been the case for all the inquiring adventurers as they came in at ever so slightly different times, to the same place without running into each other. However, as a torch was lit and calls for others would reach out would the truth reveal itself.

The light from the flames crawled over the rough rocks of the cave from stalagmites and stalactites until it suddenly didn't as it fell upon smooth, carved stone, in bricks meticulously placed as it disappeared into the darkness.

However, this wasn't the only thing they'd noticed after one after another they would be revealed to each other as they looked around. The four with the maps, and any companions they had brought with. It must've been a surprise to them most, they were all here to investigate the war, but they didn't know that, they only knew about why they were here. Yet, they were all brought together in the fact they didn't know why they were here, and what was with the construction deeper into the cave.

Many mysteries began to pop up they came to answer their questions, but would they figure out what's going on in the war, or would they find themselves lost in the rabbit hole. Only time can tell what will happen for our heroes.

They all travelled the cave in silence eager to see what this cavern holds. They would find that they were  quite often being led by strange clues, letters or sounds since they arrived in this land. Once they found themselves at a strange construction deep in the cave, they would hear footsteps. Soon they would see three groups in front of them of people they did not really know.

Gilles would walk up to them brandishing new shiny sword, "Bow you knaves! you stand before mmph...." She was interrupted by Husk covering her mouth and pulling back the now flailing High Priestess. The masked man, Dusk would take a step forward before taking off his hat and bowing, "I apologize my fellow cave dwellers. What are leader meant to say is that it is good to see others here, we decided to travel the desert till we were in need of shelter when we found this cave. We are a travelling troupe of performers trying to scout for new acts. Why dont we explore this strange structure together as friends?" He would gesture to the building behind him, trying to distract from the woman who was muttering the words burn burn burn, over and over.

Somehow, in some way, the cave managed to lead all of the dwellers from different times to run into each other at the same time. Even though they entered from different areas, who was to say that they arrived at the same time? Did time work differently than Lagi thought? Was there some sort of special time distortion that was going on with the cave?

"......"

He slowly examined each of the people that were inside of the cave, the first person was actually a group of individuals. There were three of them, one of them had a haughty attitude as if she was the leader or someone of referencable notice. Maybe, they were performers, or maybe they were crazy. The others didn't peak yet, they all smelled human enough.

"That's fine, but performers during a war over the lands in heliohapt? You've come a long way to be somewhere so dangerous. As long as you aren't with the bandits with a murder rap sheet as long as the great north sea, yes it's probably safer that we travel together. I already started to notice something strange about the cave. Perhaps you should stay close then. " He then looked to the other two who haven't spoken yet. "you don't need to lie about who you are if you don't want to talk, but what's it going to be? Can we cut the bullshit and travel together for a few hours? Or will there be a problem?"

Humayra

The peculiarities of the cave went quite well illuminated and were rather difficult for Humayra to ignore. "This cave... It's not natural..." The Fanalis girl muttered quietly to herself but Al-Sadek nodded understanding himself, having noticed the strangeness of the cave himself.

The boisterous female might have drawn her weapon and approached upon seeing Humayra and the others but she would find the Fanalis girl having preemptively drawn upon a dagger of her own. Gift of Freedom, as it were so rightfully named, glinted in the wavering torchlight. But the loud woman quickly grew stifled as one of her own seemed to silence and apologize for her. Humayra on the other hand passed a glancing look back towards Al-Sadek who himself took initiative by placing a palm over the Fanalis girl's own blade, imploring her to lower it. She promptly and silently agreed to his intents... Though the blade would not be returned to its sheath, Humayra understood. There were too many unknowns, and a strange cave would be a poor place to engage in hostility with another...

"..." Humayra chose to remain silent and hold her tongue at the man's words, her life experiences under the thumb of slavery having taught the girl that a witty remark was best kept to oneself. But the Fanalis girl would be damned if she'd allow any of these strangers the chance to see her back. "Traveling together is fine with us, but she can lead the way." Humayra answered for her party of two. The Fanalis extended a finger from her torch-bearing hand to indicate she wanted to see Gilles take the lead. Humayra wouldn't readily trust someone so eager to brandish steel on the first meet.

It was quite an ominous cave. For what purpose did the map serve, or this cave? It was so rather odd. Angelus was ever so clueless to why the clues had led him here to this very cave at this particular point, but he was hoping to know within the day. Careful with his steps, the man pressed on. Upon having called out to others, he were to be drawn deeper into the depths of the path, only to suddenly come to meet others who had been drawn here. Who are these people? Angelus could not help but be rather nervous for a moment. If only he had brought a scarf to cover his face but alas, perhaps his face may not prove to be an issue. It was not like too many knew who he was, no scarf or scarf. However, now faced with the problem of others being here, he could not help but inquire on why they were here, though the man imagined likely for the very same reasons as himself. It was a man with a quite odd mask that spoke up, asking if everyone may travel together, without issues. It was here that Angelus just could not help but be skeptical of who these people were. However, he were to oblige, but ask them who they were, for his own safety.

Armin: "I am fine with traveling without issues. Who are you all though? I am.. Armin.. I want to just live a peaceful life in my homeland, Parthevia, but this war, it has torn my homeland apart. I am trying to figure out what is happening. I believe at least our names is a good sign of trust, since we will travel together, yes? I believe though you asked us to bow, am I right, white haired woman? Are you nobility of some sort.. ? I have never met nobility. Nice to meet you. I hope to not upset you."

Perhaps the young Angelus had gone too far. It was likely that Angelus may have instigated far too much. However, this was what he had to do to truly understand who these people are, or at least try and get a shred of their identity. It put him at great unease, due to the fact he may be walking side by side with the very enemy. It hopefully was not the case though. If he was, he did not know how this may turn out later. Either way, the man played his role as Armin, a pure of heart man that seeks to just live a rather peaceful life. It was a façade though, a far cry from who he truly was. In fact, Angelus could be said to be quite the opposite, though his intentions were good, his means were not so great. Angelus chose the very opposite of a quiet and peaceful life, he chose one of chaos and mass bloodshed. It felt like a truly hard act to play, but one he was to try.

The cave was silent, there was nothing but themselves as they began to talk and 'introduce' themselves to one another. It would fill the air as they were given the space and the time that they needed. However, if one listened closely in between their words they would hear absolutely nothing. It might've seemed normal at first but on closer inspection, it could be heard that there was truly nothing as their words echoed off into silence. There was no more sound of the wind outside the cave, no more drips of water from the stalagmites on top. There was truly nothing other than silence itself and each group.

There was the time for them to speak and choose their actions, and there were a few choices behind them as they could look around the cavern they were in. Along the ground, the rock was weathered in a pattern that snaked from the entrances they came from towards one path that leads deeper into the darkness around them. In there the silence was so deafening that one could swear they would hear a ringing if they stuck their head beyond the threshold.

It was all out there for them, people and a path to travel it seemed clear where they must go, though it seemed all odd enough after all their experiences within the caverns they found themselves delving into.

"Don't worry about the darkness. My senses are particularly keen so we should be alright as long as I walk in front. I don't have any light, so someone should use their torches or other sources of light in order to support the group. " Lagi immediately took the position in front and started to lead the group through. Not because he thought of himself as a leader, but because he already had a Sogaxod dragon installed on him in case there was any sort of trap that not even he could handle, and there was also another Sogaxod traveling lightly behind the group, Tracking Lagi's microbes but staying out of site of the others until danger appeared.

"Any one of you good fighters? I'd rather not have to do any sort of protection if you all can take care of yourself. Don't even bother faking that you can't, you have to be responsible for your own lives in this dangerous cave. You can't leave something like that in the hands of others for the sake of a farce. " He wasn't playing around, and that was all that needs to be said. Lagi's danger sense and the Sogaxod Microbe communication was a unified group of senses to attempt to get through the cave despite the darkness.

Gripping the torch she held in hand, Humayra nodded subtle agreement with the other’s words. Keen senses in a cave would be a must for the leader of this group and she had doubts about the boisterous one’s capacity to fill such a roll. Al-Sadek and Humayra exchanged knowing glances before the girl held up her torch. Shadows cast by obstructing bodies were shortened with the stick’s newfound height. ”Mine are good too.” Humayra’s words were blunt but she didn’t provide objection to the other’s boast about senses or to his desire in taking up the lead. It only meant the girl would keep at least two people in front of her now.

”We didn’t think anyone else was even here until we bumped into you all…” Humayra’s eyes narrowed in response to Lagi’s statement. Was he judging hers and Al-Sadek’s capacity to look out for themselves? Even if that were so, Humayra wouldn’t allow herself to be shown up by people she’d only just met. Especially not the loud one who seemed to lack self-control… or was it just a blatant lack of humility?

Whatever their marching order ended up becoming, Humayra would keep her ears and eyes sharp. Both to keep tabs on the activities of each group member and to take notice of anything that might come out from the dark and unknown recesses of this dark and mysterious cave which by the stonework she could see, was definitely some form of manmade…

Gilles would just grin staying silent as they walk further into the cave. SHe would not reply to the comment of the first man but Dawn would, "As we said dear sure, we are entertainers not fighters. Our Dear Dusk the Second is skilled with knife throwing and Husk is a strong man but neither are too good at actually defending themselves. And the lady with the sword is just a fire eater, the sword is part of the performance. YOu see we were seperated by the rest of our caravan that has the actual fighters."

As Dawn Talked Gilles would grin unblinking at Humayra licking her blade as if thinking how to slice apart the other person.

Angelus had ventured quite far now. It were to seem that the sound of the wind that had once kissed the ears of the travelers had now dissipated, having been exchanged for nothing but silence. Devoid of any sound, the cavern had truly become a peculiar place. Not even drips of water from stalagmites could be discerned by the unknown travelers' ears. It was a quite the rather foreboding cavern everyone here had come to, a place where echoes tapered off into the silence that reverberated along the cavern path. Angelus had been purposely ignored by two others, while being likely lied to by the last other. It was quite unlikely that the wise option was to persist on trying to extract any valuable information from the other travelers. Therefore, he really had no other choice besides to give up, and not focus so much on the others, but rather only himself.

Armin: "Is that so.. ?"

Murmured the red cloaked traveler, whom delved further into the cavern.

The sound of silence was their melody that decorated the space between their sparse conversation, however despite this near-infinite feeling of emptiness they would soon find themselves brought back to some sort of sanity. The walls started to be more discernable with the carved features having strong engravings of a secret language perhaps. There the cave seemed no longer and they found themselves standing in a chamber, with a hallway of carved stone curved with it extending so far only darkness could be perceived in its depth.

It was ominous, foreboding even as they could only look to see where the light of the torches did nothing to reveal what was in the distance, it was too far of a walk and here they sat ready to go down it if they wished, however, there was also the chamber they found themself in that they had the opportunity to explore and take in around them. Amidst the underground cavern, they would be able to see that there was art on the wall around them. There were images of great creatures, lions with the faces of men, multiheaded dogs, and serpents, and also what looked like creatures of fire. However, around the entire mural was a chain of what looked to be man, holding hands entwined around what could only be considered a dome if they were to look closely at the shape of the cavern roof in the chamber.

As the last one of them would step in and likely see the room around them all the torches and the light it provided seemingly kicked off an effect. In mere moments there was a quick flash of light from what appeared to be mirrors on the roof. This shot down into the darkness of the hallway, and then nothing happened. At least not at first, no it seemed like nothing had changed except for when they would get close to the end of the first edge of darkness. It was at this boundary that a soft melody could be heard, and singing as well somewhere off in the deep distance of the path before them.

It was a soft song, like a siren lulling them deeper into the darkness where they might have to light more torches or keep one tight on them. The volume would gradually raise if they made their way down the path.

With them continuing to walk, the music started to become even more distinct. As a matter of fact, with Orie's danger sense, it was even more prominent to Lagi being able to pick up on it before everyone else, much to his displeasure.

"Do you hear boss music? Or is it just me? Stay alert, I was under the impression that the cave was abandoned, but if this ends up being some sort of dungeon, I'd like to say that perhaps I thought of myself to be a tad unprepared for it."

He was unprepared mentally at least, dungeons became a fruitless endeavor for Lagi. No matter what good he does outside of his ventures, he will always be rejected by Solomons will. There was only one path for him, he figured that out the hard way. However, as they walked, Lagi took a look at the drawing, somewhat intrigued at the fact that some of the people had lion faces and strange bodies.

"Dungeon beasts?"

Lagi said this as he started to trace the drawings with the chained man.

"Who's this? Does anyone know what this is? A slave? "

Gilles would just smile as the music plays which would be the only noticeable face in her group since the other three were wearing masks. She was interested in the music that could be heard but was more interested in the mural and the dark passageway. She would walk up to one of the walls looking for a reasonable spot before using her blade to carve a crude rendering of a woman holding a sword who was surrounded by flames.

Once she was done she would laugh maddenly before running off into the dark hallway. She would activate her implanted magic tool to sprout wings of flames which she would use to further light the hallway as she runs down it followed by her merry band of cultists and a giant waddling duck statue. "Follow me my children!" she would shout raising her blade.

“Dungeon beasts?” Humayra repeated Lagi’s question, questioning the question itself. She felt like asking what a dungeon beast was but thought better of it. If he knew about such a thing then it probably went the same that the group expected everyone else to know what a dungeon beast was. Her torch and the strangeness which play about the chamber felt disturbing, foreboding even. The images and creatures depicted in the art of the chamber baffled the Fanalis girl. It looked like nothing more than an odd man’s fantasy. Creatures, or at least what she could figure were creatures, each filled the works. They really did seem like something that couldn’t be real. From humans with beast heads to multi-headed monsters… Everything seemed fake but the slaves in chains around it… ”What is… this.” Humayra's hushed voice spoke, drawing perhaps a little too much of her interest towards the artwork.

She heard the music too… It’s soft melody only adding to the eeriness of this cave…? If that was what this place could even be called at this point… ”Probably slaves...” Humayra shifted, subtly checking on the visibility of her own irons as she voiced once again to Lagi’s inquiry.

The woman though… Her vulgarities seemed to know no bounds. Humayra looked on in disgust as she eagerly tore up the wall with her blade to carve into it, leaving behind the crude etchings of what the Fanalis girl guessed was some depiction of herself before flitting down the hallway in an oddly flaming, showy way.

Humayra couldn’t help but think that perhaps this woman knew more about this cave than she’d originally let on. There lay an odd comfort in seeing the flame-lady’s eagerness to continue on down into this mysterious place. ”We might find more answers if we go a bit further.” With less reluctance than she probably should have guarded herself with, Humayra picked up her shoulders and promptly followed the crazy lady further down into the unknown.

Angelus

It was to his surprise that intricate carvings had begun to manifest upon the walls that he had never once seen before. A rather nice change of pace from the long trek thus far through this peculiar cavern. Perhaps this was a secret or long lost language that was etched unto the walls of the chamber. Quite perplexing these writings were. Angelus had to bring out his book that was tied to a copy of the same book that none other than Zubaidah kept with her. It was a spectacle to behold truly. Not trying to dawdle, he wrote what he could of the secretive language unto the pages of the book. If the studious maiden could perhaps decipher or learn of the purpose behind these engravings, Angelus himself may be able to benefit. It was more though than just those etchings that lied on the stone of the chamber though. If one just merely looked, one could discern art that painted the walls with color, and a great mural of beasts. Yet, there existed a chain of what seemed to be man, with their hands intertwined around the grand mural.

Angelus: "..."

Brooded in silence the red cloaked man. It was with one last brush of his pen that he concluded his message to the scholarly woman. From the torches of the ominous chamber, light emit, which then had shined unto the mirrors that decorated the roof of said chamber. It led to the illuminating light of the torches being reflected into the eerie dark hallway that drew in those willing to venture farther into the what seemed to be ruins. Angelus braved the dark unknown by rising the light of his torch to the edge of the hallway. It was blanketed by a pitch black that felt somehow inviting but sinister, but regardless to what feelings had come over the hopeful King, he were to grasp tight his torch and delve within the menacing confines of the ruins' hallway. However, suddenly, a song were to play. It made his step halt for a moment, while he listened to the luring music that played within the ruin depths.

Angelus: "A song.. ?"

Said the man being lulled deeper into the ruins. Angelus followed the tune.

They all left the chamber one after another, all except for the lord of beasts himself who stood behind to look at the etchings along the wall. It was ominous as for those who continued along the hallway would hear that the music started to play in their ears more intently and clearer as they progressed. However, even Jynx himself heard the music play louder in his own ears as he looked upon the stone.

With plenty for them to see and explore it felt like more appeared to them as they worked their way through the cave, although Angelus would be able to note that the exact opposite had happened to him as he tried to share his knowledge. It was written, but he might've noticed something odd or more specifically the lack of something happening, something he had done plenty of times before as the words stuck on the page but nothing else happened and he could feel it deep inside himself as his own flow wasn't disturbed.

It seemed to tell an odd story, people united by hand, people who were bound by chains, and those who stood amongst beasts that were titanic, to say the least. It would only make one wonder if these were literal drawings or if they were representations of something greater and unknown. Even though there was much to be learned here the song kept playing in their head like a melody driving them further along with the story. "Come, come, come along."

As for those who found themselves in the hallways lead by the woman of flaming wings they would see their path before they unfold. Her infernal plumage setting fire to the torches that lined the wall even if she hadn't intended to do so. It was then that they would see what else hinted at what laid before them. Deep grooves in the stone, on the wall, the floor, and even the ceiling itself and it might've seemed like some sort of pattern had it not gotten more erratic as they moved along. They could all tell what this was, a struggle the sight of something that did not want to go down this path but was made to anyway.

The drums played more prominently and the voice got louder, where was it coming from had it been the echo, or was the music coming at them from all directions? The mystery deepened itself as they kept going as if their actions themselves were an investigation or perhaps an instigation.

"Master, the music is quite ominous, we should continue forward in order to make sure that we aren't left behind. Regardless of whatever this drawing may mean, I would rather be in an area that will not restrict my movements so I can better defend you." Sogaxod said that rather confidently as Lagi decided to stop looking at the drawings for now and enter the chamber. Upon doing so, he noticed the torches and other things as well.

"What the hell is this place?"

Lagi said this as he continued onward.

Eerie, the way the flame lady's passing down deeper along the path set light to torches hanging within the long decorated hallway. Despite the woman's flashy ways of proceeding, everything else about what happened set a chill down Humayra's spine. Did her flames even touch those torches or were they lighting up because they somehow sensed the tactless woman's presence...

With the light now playing about to brighten up the hallway, the Fanalis girl glanced to the torch she still carried. Useless now given the changes in the lighting situation. "Here." Humayra stuck out the torch to Al-Sadek, intending for him to take it off her hands. Which he took with a nod. He knew enough about his companion these days to understand her intentions. In an unknown place, having both hands free would be better than tying down with a stick with no other purpose than as a lighting utility.

Though the lady flew down the pathway at speeds far outpacing the rest of the group, Humayra opted to keep her own pace in line with the others who followed, but on foot. Noticing the scars across the hallway, the Fanalis slowed her pace slightly in order to closer examine the damages. Something strong and powerful would have had to make these marks in the stone... Something struggling against another entity, a creature perhaps... That might be even stronger. But what could it have been...? Or better yet, was it still around... Humayra swallowed hard at the latter thought. Whatever it was that'd dragged a potentially desperate victim down here... and to have caused these lacerations in the wall...? She didn't really want to find out.

The song became louder, clearer. Was it guiding them toward some spectacular reveal... or perhaps leading them all into a trap? Humayra's hands cautiously gripped the handles of her daggers.

How perilous this journey to the depths of these ruins had become. However, in spite of what danger may await him, Angelus proceeded on climbing down the stairs before him.
