The vault rumbles further, smoke seeping out the inner chamber and down the corridor. Soldiers rally with the Kinan lord. Their boots and armor clanging as they charge. All this commotion. It was all but distant echoes in her ears. A faint buzz that sent static along her arms. Her palms clasp over her ears. Even the silence felt overwhelming.
Pluto could feel her heart throbbing away in her chest, the shallowness of her breath. Whatever she had seen in that mirror— nothing had affected her so. Not even the terrors that visited her night after night. He lowers his nose, pushing it under her chin. Though a greater terror it might have been, it was far more dangerous to remain here. If other parts of the vault had collapsed, this room could be next.
“Diana,” he murmurs, forcibly lifting her up. She tries to catch her footing, grasping onto him. Their eyes meet for a second until she turns from him, ashamed. “Thou need not forget thy emotions, my lady. But we must make haste.”
He was right, they couldn’t stay here. But the incoherent thoughts that clouded her mind was thicker than any smog. Every sound was clearer, louder than before. Her head throbbed as she listened. It would be a better time for a nap. The sound of clashing metal brought back memories she would rather forget.
Yet as much as she wanted to hide away, she could not abandon Menat. Nor could she leave Noir and Tenma to fight on their lonesome.
Using Pluto as leverage, she gets up onto her feet, taking a deep breath. With one last look at the mirror, she stares at the indent of her fingers. She would not touch it again. Not even to destroy it. “Fine. Let’s make haste as you say,” she says, giving a light tug to his mane. Pluto huffs, trailing next to her as they proceed down the corridor.
The first thing she would notice was the thin veil of smoke that hung in the air. Using her nose would prove futile as it would only mask their scents. Through her hearing, she would hear Noir incite a spell. Looking in the direction, she would notice the vague outline of clouds form overhead and a serpentine shape circling around other figures.
(1) She places her hand upon Pluto, allowing her magoi to flow into him. “I will release you. You may borrow my weapons if you need to. But take care not to be reckless.” Wisps of smoke plume from his mouth, surrounding his body. A flash of light for a mere moment as his form rapidly shifts into that of a man. No longer a canid, he rubs his wrist with his clawed hand.
He chuckles, a smirk forming on his face. “Fret not, my lady. I am not one to play a fool.” Clutching his fist, he waits on her signal. (2) She twitches her head and bursts off towards the direction of Noir. The sharp wind generated from her speed would clear the smoke in her path. In a shot of luck, she hoped the storms were not her spell.
(3) She jumps up to the height of the clouds, quickly drawing her sword in order to slash it directly against the clouds hovering over their heads to disperse them. Even if she could not get them all, it would be enough to lessen the damage they may take below.
Pluto would heed her command from before, calculating his move. For now, he would watch from afar, keeping himself wary of any dangers that may harm himself or his lady.

- notes:
- Diana and Pluto had a very... awkward, short pep talk. They both said let us get this over with so we can go home and take a nap.
They make their way down to the chamber (I assume the door is open, if it is not, please forgive me and assume she either punched it down or just pushed it open.)
1. Diana activates the trait, Synthetic Humanity, on Pluto. He is now a handsome man. This costs 40 magoi.
Trait Name: Synthetic Humanity
Trait Tier: Ω-Tier
Trait Requirement: Legend Beast
Trait Description: Due to extensive breeding, and genetic manipulation, and experimentation by Minerva Corvus, Pluto has awoken his innate ability to assume a human form, albeit temporarily. Tapping into a genetic predisposition to the rukh, as well as an Alma Torran bloodline, Pluto changes his physical appearance to match that of a 6'7" human male, slim in stature, with pale skin, white hair, and crimson eyes. The body is clothed in furs and articles reminiscent of his canine appearance, while the crescent moon on his forehead now appears as a tattoo upon his chest.
Trait Effect: Pluto may briefly assume a human form, gaining the following effects:- Pluto's base damage is reduced by one tier, representing a slightly weaker physiology.
- Pluto retains all of his traits.
- Pluto can fluently communicate in human language.
- Pluto can use any ability he has registered so long as his physiology allows it.
- Synthetic Humanity must be activated by an external catalyst. Pluto's master must make contact with the beast and pay 40 magoi to activate the transformation.
- Synthetic Humanity lasts for 3 posts, and has a 5 post cooldown.
2. She utilizes the full speed of her Fanalis Racial to catch up to Noir, Tenma, and the NPCs they are with. This costs 10 stamina.
A-tier: The character can now cover short gaps in an instant with a single step. (Cost: 10 Stamina)
3. She jumps up and uses Asagiri Rendan in an attempt to disperse the storm clouds. This ability is utilized by using her A-Tier sword and directly hitting the clouds instead of utilizing the wind. This should guarantee her to deal A-Tier damage to at least four clouds in a direct clash. Or at least generate strong enough winds to disperse or weaken them. This uses 30 stamina.
Asagiri RendanTier: B
Class: Warrior
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Requirements/Drawbacks: Diana must able to slash her sword in multiple directions in front of her.
Scaling: Hits
Sustain: 0
Cool Down: 3
Cost: 30 stamina | 15 stamina
Description:
Diana uses her full strength to slice her sword four times in front of her with high speed. The force of the slashes create a barrage of 3m tall, thin arcs of cutting wind that deals D tier damage per hit and travels up to 3m away from her before dissipating. The damage may also be dealt by the initial slashes but it will nullify the sharp wind. - Pluto's base damage is reduced by one tier, representing a slightly weaker physiology.
