Personality: Arata at surface value is a lively impish person with a flair for the dramatics. though he presents himself with 'gentlemanly' behavior his smiles often have a mischevious touch, giving him a youthful appeal. With his loud and large presence, it is difficult to miss him in a crowd with his constant expressive and energetic movements. He's someone you spot and have a hard time ignoring afterward. He's the type who can stay in someone's mind thanks to both his dramaticness and taste in extravaggent looking clothes. But he still has a wild touch despite his 'refined' appearance. There's also something just plain honest and fun about him because of how youthful and energetic he acts. In reality however, he's anything but honest. That's just a mask to hide the fact that really, Arata is a conniving theif good at conning people out of their possessions or doing things for him. He can be extremely apathetic to the suffering of others and often goes so far as to casually take advantage of other people without a single bit of remorse or hesitation. But its a different story when it involves his mother and brother. He cares for them greatly and often reacts strongly when they're involved.
Likes:
Money - what can he say? Money makes the world go round. With money he could buy anything and obtain anything. He loves it, nay, obsessed with it.
Fish - He really really likes fish. Overall, he likes all meat but especially fish. Even though the smell is bad, he's always liked the taste.
Fancy clothes - Despite his distaste for the upper class, he is enamored with their clothes. Wearing rich clothing makes him feel like he isn't a con thief, but rather a wealthy heir without a care in the world.
Dislikes:
The upper class - He may love money but he definitely shares no love for those who possess said money. On a more personal level, he despises the callousness they seemingly have even for their own family, wich goes into the second thing he dislikes:
His dad - Arata resents his dad for leaving him, his mother, and his brother. After he had two sons (twins), he abandoned them all for the sake of his reputation.
Responsibility - He mostly hates responsibility because of thats basically his life: looking and caring for his sickly mother and brother. If it weren't for his love of his family, he would leave a long time ago.
Aspirations:
Becoming strong - He'll practice with anything he can get his hands on because he doesn't want to stay weak. For his family, he has to become strong so he can proetect them. Especially in the wartorn and violent place that is kou.
Getting rich - He loves money. So it would stand to reason he would seek to get lots of it. Furthermore, his family really needs money. Medical bills are expensive and the medicine can be even worse. It takes most of the money he gets from stealing. Plus they have to be always on the move to avoid gettig caught.
Being carefree - One day he wants to live a life without any responsibilities. Where he can just sit back and be the kid he never was able to be because his childhood was so harsh.
Phobias/fears:
Losing his family - Even though he hates the responsibility that comes with his family (him being the only healthy one and therefore the only one who can make substantial money to sustain them) he loves his family dearly and fears the day when he looses them. He is in constant fear their sickness will take them away from him.
Getting Caught - He can be described as extremely paranoid. Even though he doesn't look scared, underneath he's constantly afraid of being caught. He doesn't have good memories in the cells and would rather avoid them altogether. He's also extremely afraid one day he won't be able to escape and will be locked up for the rest of his life.

Appearance: Even though physically he might be small he walks big. The way he carries himself gives him a large presence. Furthermore, he dresses in flamboyant clothing that look fit for a rich kid. In reality theyre made of imposter fabric. They're just cheap copies of the real thing. But they're usually good enough to fool the middle class, his usual target.
His hair is pretty unique as well. He has bright blond hair which can easily be spot and is one of the reasons he often catches the eyes of others. Speaking of eyes, his eyes are also a feature that make him easily remembered (which isn't necessarily a good thing since it also increases the chances he'll be recognized while on the run but for making an impression on people during his cons, it works to his favor). Purple eyes aren't common and rather rare in fact.

Role-Play Sample: Arata gritted his teeth, a rusty knife in hand. He stumbled backward, glaring at the soldier closing in on him. He hissed 'leave me alone' before lashing out with the stolen knife.
"OW! fuck, what the hell was that for, you brat!" the soldier said. Arata snorted. What an idiot. He lashed out again with his knife.
"Alright alright! I get it!" The soldier swung up his hands in surrender. "Yeesh, i was just trying to make sure you were okay. It's strange to see a kid just wandering around without a guardian with those clothes."
The blond sneered. "That's cause I've no need for protection! I can proetct myself fine!"
"Riiight"
Arata scowled. "It's true! I can!"
"Sure, kid. But how about you skit back to your parents, alright?"
With a snort, the blond noped out of there. There's no way he's gonna stay for the soldier to go down that line of questioning. "No thanks!" he shouted as he barelled past the soldier.
