Name: Vivian Claudette
Country Affiliation: Heliohapt
Race: Magician - Strength
Tier: D
Class: Magician
Age + Birthdate: 26, August 16
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Personality: The entirety of Vivian’s personality can be described with one word, “bookworm.” Although most bookworm’s would be labeled as “shy,” Vivian’s unique in that she doesn’t really care and prefers silence over confrontation and commotion. Usually, she only speaks when spoken to and keeps it at that when she can, adding information to a conversation only continues it. Usually they’re not important enough to bother herself with. She spends a lot of her time in silence and/or in the dark with a little candle with an open book in hand. It’s pretty obvious based on how pale she is. Surrounding herself with a tough exterior, the bookworm rarely lets anyone into her little safe circle. However when she’s bonded with someone enough, she becomes an open book.
In combat and threatening situations, the librarian always observes her surroundings and thinks ahead of time what could happen. She carefully identifies what can be used in her favor and what can be used against her. Although not a justice bringer, she will ask someone to surrender before she fights them. Whether or not it be pure cockiness is unknown. She really just wants to end the fight as soon as possible.
Likes:
- Books - A book can hold a lot more than common knowledge. It holds a world within it’s pages. Writing and reading have always been hobbies of hers and nothing will change that.
- Owls - Everything about Owls has always made Vivian crow in delight. The eyes make her squee. They manage to be so simple, yet so mysterious looking creatures, she could just eat them up.
- Silence - The quiet has always made her happy. It allows her complete concentration onto her bookwork and such.
- Romance - Vivian will never turn down a good dramatic romance. Whether is be in a book or between people, it doesn’t matter, she’ll give it a good thumbs up.
- Music - Vivian is quite fluent with all different kinds of musical instruments. When she’s not reading, she’s practicing.
Dislikes:
- Ignorance - If you don’t know what you’re talking about, stop talking.
- Horseplay - Horseplay breaks things and hurts people.. And is annoying.
- Slavery - Slavery has taken a toll on Vivian's heart. The suffering of a people always makes her weep herself.
Aspirations: Cleopatra - Vivian's ultimate goal is to become the ruler of Heliohapt. She believes the way the country is managed is wrong and deserves a change in rule. This may be hard due to her commoner status, however fame comes easily by bringing hope to a place that doesn't have any. Although she hasn’t taken great strides to seize the power, she plans to start from the ground up, slowly amassing a Coup and/or rebellion and going from there. She’ll decide what’s next afterwards.
Phobias/fears: Surprises - Vivian is a very aware person. She likes to know where everything and everyone is at all times. Something getting the absolute jump on her sends her in the opposite direction screaming in shock. You’ll certainly get a reaction from her usually dull emotions, and maybe a fireball or two lobbed at you to go with it. It not only scares her, she’ll become your mortal enemy as well. It only shows how much she hates it.
Face-Claim: Hephaestus - Danmachi
Hair Color: Red
Eye Color: Red
Height: 175 cm (5’8”)
Weight: 64 kg (140 lbs)
Appearance:
Vivian is an exceptionally beautiful young woman. In terms of looks, she takes more after her mother, a woman who seduced her way out of slavery. Her father gave her his habits, a seek for power. She takes the time out of the day to properly do her makeup and wash her clothes. An appearance needs to be made, and not one of a rabble-rouser. Her eyes and hair naturally colorize to a ruby and her lips and eyeshadow usually follow as such.
The right eye of the mage is covered with a black leather eyepatch with a tough adjustable strap that trails around her head. She doesn’t dare take it off. Small silver earrings adorn her ears in the pastime whilst longer golden ones take their place on more formal occasions. Long leather gloves trail from the tips of her fingers to her elbows usually, formally replaced with long silk ones. Her usual garb consists of a collared t-shirt that’s sewn to expose a little bit more cleavage than it needs too. Her pants are usually baggy and they’re topped off with a nice pair of elbow-high boots.
Rukh Alignment: White
Special Features: Eye of Thoth - An eye that suffered an odd birth defect. It is covered by an eyepatch.
History: The eye of Horus is a well-known icon and symbol throughout the world despite its Heliohaptian origin. It symbolizes wealth, power, and prosperity. In Heliohapt, it is a symbol of constant hope. Sometimes people would need a little hope within such a hazardous environment. The sandstorms that would rip a person to shreds, the heat that could cook a man to a crisp, and the lurking threat of the monarchy glaring you into dust are only three common everyday dangers. People within the Heliohaptian country have learned to accept these terms and push through it all.
A large proportion of the Heliohaptian population is made up of slaves. Tied with invisible chains that would force them to perform a master's bidding, they work tirelessly. Whatever hope the commoners have, the slaves do not. They do not choose what to believe in or what they do day to day. The amount of despair that has piled within the area is incredible. Master's make sure their wills are concluded to rubble. Most commoners do not wish for change, however, a certain librarian does.
Vivian Claudette was born from the womb of a freed slave. Her mother had married into the household of a noble. Although the relationship between the couple was criticized, they were left alone for the most part. Cursed with the deformity of blindness in one eye, Vivian grew up under the care of a nanny. She was a slave who'd been tasked into the raising of the child. The odd couple wouldn't be bothered with a child that didn't suit their needs. The nanny went on and on about how life was unfair when no one was around and is the primary reason as to why Vivian hates slavery with such a passion.
Treated with the privilege of a noble, a stable life was to ensue. Vivi neglected her first-class roots and decided to branch off. She changed her last name to Claudette to fortify this. A loan was given to her to pursue her life, and instead of making more money from what was given, she decided to return it all to usher for her nanny's freedom. This was granted, and from there, the girl worked at the library with her previous caretaker working alongside her.
This happy ending wasn't enough for the mage although. The ambition within the librarian continued. Not one would expect the silent blank stares that the mage would give were those of a power-seeker. After a year of practicing her talents, she would finally make her first moves towards her goal.
Role-Play Sample:
In Heliohapt, the sun always blazed down upon the common-folk and slaves. Forced into loose cloth and turbans to avoid horrid sunburn, people walk through the scorching sands of the desert barefoot in order to escape Heliohapt. It was unforgiving and the sun was restless, even at night, when it was cold, danger was always afoot. That is precisely why Vivian always decides to remain in the library, where she spends her time reading and practicing her magic within the courtyard. It’s like her sanctuary and safe space where she can plot everything she does within the confines of her various walls of books.
Regardless, today was a certainly unordinary day as she actually had to work more than usual. Some fool waltzed into the place and decided to knock over an entire bookshelf. Being the only person who’d ever want to be a librarian, and her old nanny being out sick for the day, she’d been tasked at reorganizing everything there herself. What a tiresome job and her book that she was reading was just getting good as well. She groaned in effort as she recollected all her books and placed them back where they originally were one-by-one.
