Noah

Waves crashed among a rocky shore. The dark night here in Balbadd was a bit cooler than back home, but the humidity kept it warm, sticky warm, something that Noah did not enjoy too much. He had escaped his home not but a few days ago, escaped was not the right word to use at the time but very well could have been what he would have ended up doing if he chose to stay. Now he found himself in the lush and beautiful costal nation of Balbadd. A town that was once stricken with corruption and poverty but in the last few years had started to become a major contender in the world. Noah had not done much while in the small nation other than relax and sleep, he was doing that often here actually. Maybe it was just because the place felt like a tropical vacation with the white sand, blue sea, and green environment. The people here were friendly enough too, he had found lodging and supplies rather quickly and for a good price. The boy had few coins to spare due o being a man of the temple and being just and 18 year old boy.

He stood on the beach just looking across the water, for what was of no importance or relevance. He felt calm here, he was not jumping between ideas and moods like back home. The lax nature of the people had quickly overwhelmed his own natural emotions, probably for the best. He wore white, baggy shorts that came slightly lower than his knees and a light blue tunic made from silk. His toes were without any binding tonight and he wiggled them in the small bits of sand. He had come here tonight mainly to just think about his plans. He left home in such a hurry he really did not think much through. He needed to get further away though, he did not suspect anybody was on his trail yet but they very well could be here shortly. There was a ship leaving tomorrow for a port off Zou’s empire, he was heavily contemplating to go there, though Reim was also a plausible place to go, he had Reim blood in his veins, a family there that he had never known. They wouldn’t have the clout like his father’s family would in Helio but they might be able to help him get settled and earn a citizenship. Reim and Helio were currently in a stalemate situation though so they might not be too willing to have somebody from one of Helio’s oldest and most powerful families among their own. Noah’s mind was made up he would take the boat to Zou and find something there to occupy him.

He would go back to his room and gathered his things. He left a few coins on the dresser drawer to pay for the room. The sun slowly started to peak out from behind out the clouds marking the new day. The ship was said to leave near the crack of dawn so Noah would need to move quick so that he was not left behind. He ran down the streets with his pack slung over his back and his staff in hand. The docks were not too far from where he was staying, he could see the sea gulls flying overhead. Soon the white sails began to emerge from the horizon. There was a ship already starting to cast off and was about halfway out of the bay, the flag was easily recognizable and made Noah’s heart jump slightly, it was Zou’s ship. He kicked off the ground and began flying right towards the ship at full speed so that he would not get left behind. He landed on the ship’s deck and flashed a wicked smile, the crewmen started getting upset that some strange mage just landed on their vessel, that was until he tossed a coin to pay for the fair. He found himself a sit and propped up his feet enjoying the nice cruise to the new lands.
