Efimia Myrrine VLLzI62
Name: Efimia Myrrine
Country Affiliation: Magnostadt
Race: Human
Tier: D
Specialization: Intelligence [Light]
Age + Birthdate: 15 | June 1st
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual

Personality:
Efimia was raised very well. Her parents both took their time to teach her manners properly. As a result, she's very polite and patient around others. The girl will rarely speak out of turn or say anything offensive. As a result, she sometimes appears very kind when in reality, she's simply trying not to offend anyone. Her parents not only raised her to be polite, but to be reliable as well. Efimia will not undertake a task unless she knows she can do it. She'll do her best to help others and complete her tasks once a promise is made.

For most of her life, Efimia spent her life as a social butterfly. While she studied a lot, her life seemed to revolve around her friends. However, after losing all of her friends, Efimia became more serious and studious. She became focused on her studies and magics. As a result, the girl can give off an overly serious and annoyed vibe at times. Still, at her heart, Efimia does enjoy being around people. However, her trauma of losing her friends to both death and betrayal has made her reluctant to open up to others. Because of this, she'll often keep quiet in the background and keep an emotional distance from others.

Likes:
Efimia enjoys group conversations. She seems to like hearing everyone's opinions and can think better when having someone to bounce ideas off of. However, because of a trauma of getting close to others, she mostly spends her time speaking to herself softly. So, she enjoys group conversations with herself. Efimia also enjoys learning new things and new magics. She's always been a curious person after all.

Dislikes:
Efimia dislikes lies. She hates being lied to. Furthermore, she has a distinct disgust for those with a lot of pride. Efimia has seen pride lead to the death of friends and will often cut down prideful individuals who bother her.

Aspirations:
Efimia's largest aspiration currently is to figure out where her father and sister are. She wants to find out what he did to her sister. If she does manage to find Helen, her next aspiration would be to put her out of her misery. Efimia isn't confident in her ability to undo whatever her father did, and she just wants her sister to be at peace. A secondary goal is to dismantle Magnostadt. Efimia blames the country for not only the death of Megara, but her father's experiments. She hopes to gain enough power to either destroy or reform the country- even if it means culling the current heads of power.

Phobias/fears:
Efimia's biggest fear is becoming like her father. He had been so kind and caring when she was growing up. He always took his time to read books to her sister and her. The fact that he turned into something so awful chills her to her very bones. Efimia also fears losing anyone close to her. To try and counteract this fear, she refuses to become close to most indivuals. So, a third fear would be becoming close to someone. Everyone she's ever cared for has been killed, mutalited or betrayed her.

Spoiler:
Efimia is a fairly short young girl. Her long blond hair is the most striking thing about her. Her hair is thick and wavy. The girl's golden locks reach down to her waist and is fairly thick. Efimia's hair looks more like a mane than anything else. She has the bangs cut so hair stays out of her eyes. Both her eyes are wide and are a calm violet color. Over all, the girl is very thin and lithe with little to no muscle. Her fair colored skin seems to blush easily when flustered which seems to happen often as the girl appears to be physically unfit.

Rukh Alignment: Black
Special Traits:
History:
Efimia was born within the safe walls of Magnostadt. Her childhood knew no true strife as both her parents were happily married and striving. She had two elder brothers and one elder sister. Her father and mother both taught at the Academy. Her older brothers, twins, were nearly five years older than her. Her sister, Helen, however, was only two years older. While many siblings never got along well in childhood, Efimia got along famously with her brothers and sister. Some of her fondest memories are them taking her for rides on their carpet.

As a child, Efimia never noticed that her elder sister was different than her. She never noticed how as the other children her sister's age prepared to go to the academy, her sister didn't. Efimia, being a young girl, was too busy running about the city with her circle of friends. When she was younger, her sister would join her, but as she got older, she rarely saw her sister outside of the house. Efimia didn't notice as her sister became more and more isolated. It wasn't until the year her sister was supposed to attend the academy that Efimia realized something. Her sister wasn't a magician.

After Efimia realized this, she distanced herself from her sister. She didn't know what to do. She had been so insensitive. The girl had always asked her sister about her plans for the academy. When her sister responded with hushed mumblings, she hadn't really listened. Efimia had been too absorbed into her own world of excitement for her soon to be arriving school years to notice. The girl kept her distance from her sister over the next two years until she too was sent off to the Academy, leaving her elder sister alone in their home.

At the Academy, Efimia was quickly welcomed into the fold with no real issues. The girl had always been talented at making friends, and her new school life blossomed. She quickly became one of the more popular students and excelled in most of her classes. She helped those around her study and she formed a close knit group of friends over her first year at the Academy. Her roommate became her best friend. She was a quiet girl who went by the name Megara. Efimia and Megara became inseparable. She formed a tight knit cliché and was one of the more popular girls in the school.

Everything seemed to be going Efimia's way. She had high scores in her class. Her social life was blossoming, and her parents couldn't be prouder. Both of her elder brothers were now studying to become professors as well. Meanwhile, her sister seemed to be somewhat reclusive. Efimia still hadn't spoken to her at length. The girl simply didn't know what to say to her. Efimia only really saw her during her short trips home. Other than those awkward moments of silence, Efimia's life seemed just about perfect. She spent her days studying diligently with her friends and her nights talking and laughing with Megara. It was truly a charmed life. Over a year or two, she studied and enjoyed her school years.

Everything changed when the Kou nation attacked. In the heat of the attack, Efimia's mother and two brothers perished defending the Academy. During the attack, Efimia and her classmates had been charged with leading some of the younger citizens to a safety point within the Academy. However, things didn't go as planned. Half way to the safe house, the group ran into the Kou soldiers. The soldiers seemed hesitant to attack a group composed of children and tried to order them to surrender. Megara, who was normally quiet, refused to surrender to them. This raised conflict among the group and soon the close friends Efimia spent her peaceful days with were all each others' throats. Efimia didn't agree with Megara herself, but she kept quiet. The girl wasn't sure they could survive a battle with trained Kou soldiers at their level. She would rather their lives be spared until they could figure out a way to escape than die in a bloody prideful battle. One of the others tried to attack the soldiers with Megara, but Efimia reached out to try and wrestle the wand away from him as he was firing his attack. As she tried to pry the wand away from her classmate, he accidentally shot it off. In the struggle, the wand's attack was pointed at Megara.

A fireball lodged into her chest, and the girl fell forward. As she bled on the ground, Efimia ran to her, but one of the Kou soldiers grabbed her. It appeared they had decided to take them by force. Efimia did her best to try and reach for the dying Megara, but the stronger soldiers easily held her back. Before anything further could happen, professors intervened and chased off the Kou soldiers. By the time Efimia finally got to Megara, she was dead. Her best friend had died alone- face first in the dirt. Efimia stayed next to Megara for the remainder of the siege. When everything finally settled down, she watched as her friend's body was taken by the professors to be returned to her family outside of the country.

Although the country was rebuilt mere weeks after the attack, everyone had been scarred in their own ways. Efimia's father quit teaching and secluded himself in their home. He couldn't be reached no matter what Efimia tried. When she tried reaching out to her sister for help since she lived with him, her sister didn't respond. So, Efimia was left alone in the rebuilt academy. Her friends had either died during the attack or had been present at Megara's death. They had all betrayed each other. The one bustling halls of the Academy were now nearly empty, and a darkness began to grow within Efimia. She could forgive Kou for attacking their country. While she disliked them- attacking another country to gain power was understandable. The soldiers had even tried giving her friends a chance to surrender. No one close to her had to die. It was the pride the country instilled in it's people that caused all the fatalities. Megara had died because her friend's had been too prideful to surrender.

Efimia quietly let this resentment steam and build within as she kept up with her studies and lived her life. All the meanwhile, her father's mental health seemed to deteriorate. Every time Efimia went home, she'd ask to see her sister, but her father said she was out. He would then retreat to his basement. Efimia would watch him constantly keep it locked as if it held some great treasure. He even looked to her with shifting eyes as he entered and slammed the door behind him. Eventually, Efimia grew worried. She hadn't so much as seen her sister in months. Was Helen avoiding her?

At school, Efimia was sometimes asked by professors how her father was doing. They had heard he had gotten a large grant to study something in his own spare time, and all of them were excited to see what he was working on. However, Efimia didnt know anything about his project. All the while, she kept worrying about her sister. Did she leave every time Efimia came over to avoid her? Finally, she decided to go home unannounced. She'd surprise her sister. After years of avoiding speaking to Helen, Efimia wanted to finally talk. They had lost their other siblings and mother- and their father seemed to be lost within his studies. Helen was all Efimia had left.

When she went home- there was silence. Was no one home..? Efimia gulped as she went through the house. She went to check if her sister was in her room, but when she knocked, there was no answer. In fact, when she knocked, the door slowly swung open. Eying the lock, Efimia noticed that it was broken. Her blood chilled when she saw that everything in her sister's room had a thick layer of dust settled onto it- even the floor. No one had been in this room for months.

Then, the screaming started.

What sounded like a curdling cry of death could be heard coming from below the floorboards. Almost instantly, Efimia realized they were coming from the basement. The girl flew down the stairs to the locked door. She tried to push it open, but nothing budged. Then, her father opened it. He looked down at her with a bright smile. He looked more alive and animated than ever. For a brief moment, Efimia was happy to see her father so happy, but then she noticed the blood smeared across his clothes. She asked what happened, but all he did was talk about how excited he was to show Efimia his research. She was his heir after all. She should work with him in the research lab too! He grabbed her by the shoulder and began steering the girl down the steps further into the basement.

Almost instantly, Efimia was hit with a rotted scent that nearly sent her reeling back. As she went further in, everything became horrifically clear. Everything in the basement had been pushed messily to the wall. Meanwhile, in the center of the basement- held within a circle of magic was a creature. It was garish and hideous to look at. It's long claws dripped with blood. The blood on her father's coat had been his own. The creature had attacked him. Efimia carefully looked up at the creature as long as she could without feeling the urge to wretch as her father rambled on in the background about how marvelous the creature was. It was during one of these moments that she felt the ground beneath her fall out and her world shatter around her.

Helen. The creature had Helen's face. Efimia saw double as her heart raced. A look of horror plastered across her face as she turned to run, but her father blocked the way. He looked down at her, still looking very pleased with himself. ”Isn't Helen beautiful now? She's so much better now- even if isn't a Magician!” he laughed- as if he had just given her a hair cut. His laughter died down as he saw the horrified look on his daughter's face. Efimia pushed past him and ran out of the house as fast as she could. She ran all the way to her dorm where she locked herself in her room.

Finally, after retching and sobbing for three straight days., Efimia decided on one thing. She had to put an end to her sister's misery as that beast. However, when she got to the house- everything was gone. The house was empty. Even the furniture had been moved. All that was left of her childhood home were empty walls and the scratches on the door frame that had told her mother how tall her siblings and her had been getting throughout the years. Efimia found herself on her knees, sobbing at how everything had turned out.

It was as she sat crying in this empty house that the darkness within her fully blossomed. The pride that had easily let her loved ones march to their deaths was to blame. The country that funded the research that turned her sister into a monster- done by her own father. The two were intertwined. Now Efimia understood why her sister had been quiet all those years. Helen wasn't a magician. She had held no place in this country- so her father made her hold one against her will.

Efimia didn't know what to do with this revelation. She had never left the country before, and she was uncertain if she even could. Silently, the girl returned to her life. Over the next year, the hole boring itself into her very soul grew deeper and darker. Everything around her lost it's color as she attended her classes in silence. Eventually, she was asked to leave the Academy to go research the location a Dungeon had been on.

She didn't go to the research site. Instead, she just kept walking after leaving the country. The girl's legs couldn't urge herself back to the country just yet. Efimia was afraid to return. Would she become like her father if she returned?

Role-Play Sample:
Efimia had never seen the ocean before. Her wide eyes stared ahead at the deep blue bay that laid in front of her. There wasn't anything like this in Magnostadt. She could see and hear the bustling city around her as all the people went on their own way. The girl's wide eyes seemed to follow everything around her for short periods of time as she took in every small detail. Almost everyone around her wasn't a magician. They were all normal. They were all just trying to live their lives. As she watched a group of children run past her, Efimia smiled weakly at the memories of her doing the same thing with her siblings. Maybe they weren't that different after all.

However, the sweet memories of her childhood were quickly burned away by the painful future the children in her memories had grown into. Silently, Efimia adjusted her hat and carried on. She didn't have time to dilly dally.
