The journey from Mangostadt to Reim was not an easy one for Seti to make - Not because of anything to do with his own personal feelings (he adored almost everything about Mangostadt, but he could not deny that he was excited about being able to see the famed land that was one of the first to outlaw slavery), but more so because of the fact that it was across a sea and crossing the sea was never an easy job.

Sitting on the side of the ship, his position and his relationship to powerful people in two different kingdoms allowing him to get through this without having to put any work in as normal men would (which was quite nice, actually; He might have been raised as a worker, but he had little to no understanding of how you were supposed to pilot a ship), he watched as the ship began to pull into harbor.

The land that was off the ship looked extraordinarily different to the places that he had grown up, though that was to be expected - this was a different kingdom after all. Magnostadt was far different from Heliohapt, so it should really be no great surprise to him one way or another that this place continued that grand tradition of being fresh and new.

"E-excuse me, Augustus?" he said, calling the attention of one of the workers on the ship. Over the last few days, he had made it his mission to learn the names of every single person on board the mighty vessel that had been kind enough to donate space aboard for him.
"Yeah, mate?"
"Is this Mantua?"

The man smiled warmly, causing a pleasant warmness that often accompanied seeing others happy to shoot through Seti's body.
"No, mate. I can see why you'd think that, but we have a good five harbors to call in before we get to that place. After all, we might be giving you passage, but we are first and foremost a trade vessel."

Oh, well, he supposed that made sense. His hand moved to his coin purse almost instinctively when the man mentioned working. It was ironic, he thought as he looked down at his empty coin purse - he had all these jewels and fineries and he could probably get whatever he wanted as long as he just asked for it, even if he didn't ask for it his head and neck were draped in riches that came from his position, but he didn't even have the slightest bit of coinage.

Back in the homeland, he was able to get whatever he wanted just by asking for it ("anything for a court magician"), and in Magnostadt there really wasn't a lot that he could spend money on. Now that he was out here in Reim, he couldn't just keep throwing his position around or he was going to get all the worst kinds of attention. That meant that he should probably start working to try and get a bit of cash, right?

"Hey, Ally, if you want I could help you guys move the stuff." The man looked at him like he had just said something ludicrous. The idea of a magician doing manual labor was a strange one to most people, considering the urban legends that the 'goi' spread between themselves about the magician's true nature. Still, it was undeniable that his body still showed strength from those years of working as a slave, so it wasn't like he was obviously unfit.

"... You know what, let me talk to the captain." There was a tone in the man's voice that seemed like it was truly considering what he had just suggested, but he also knew just how unlikely it was that he was going to be let around the cargo. Sure he worked for the pharoah, but this was probably very expensive stuff. You don't trust a stranger with stuff like this.

With that in mind, Seti just nodded and quietly smiled as Alexius moved over to the tall, bronze man who dressed even stranger than Seti himself did. The fashion of sea men was something that surprised him, but he wouldn't mention it out loud. You don't be rude to someone who's actively helping you.

After the captain gave his yes to the proposal, Seti began to work alongside his fellow crew members. There was something inexplicably enjoyable about getting back into physical work, especially now that he was doing it by his own choice rather than being forced into it. It also felt good to be able to make it an easier job for the other crew members. Alexius, Ren, Julius, Xeno, Pluta and every other man seemed to be smiling at him a lot more now than they had been earlier - it was like he was a proper member of the crew

Moving down the dock towards one of the actual shops carrying a box full of cargo (Given by the smell he was going to suppose that it was high-grade meat. At least, he seriously hoped that it was meat.), he smiled at the young lady manning the stall.
"This is for you. Courtesy of the Gulf Trading Company."
---

The same delivery happened every single time they got into port. The men would take them off the ship, and he would bring the more delicate packages to people personally. It made everything a lot quicker and easier, all things considered.

As they arrived at the fifth harbor that they had delivered to, Seti began to load the final bit of cargo off the ship. It seemed that even so long after the coronation, people were still attempting to celebrate it. That confused him somewhat - it had happened a good few months ago, why were they still celebrating? Not that it was any of his business, he had just never been a big one for celebrations.

Wiping the sweat off his brow as he delivered that final, all-important box to its owner, he couldn't help but scan the crowd. There was a decent amount of people milling about the Mantua Dockyards at this time in the afternoon, but one man in particular drew his attention. It was the one currently speaking to the captain - A sophisticated man that was looking in his direction after the captain had pointed at him. He had to assume that this was one of the shop keepers.

Were he a more paranoid man, he might assume that the captain was attempting to sell him or something. Despite the fact that slavery was illegal in this country, he couldn't imagine everyone just patiently following that mandate, especially since slavery was such a large industry. Still, as it was, he just wondered what the man wanted, until he finally approached him.

Seti had finally put the box down by the side of a stall, to the muttered gratitude and platitudes of the person who it belonged to. He was ready to get on his way, but first the man seemed to want to say something.

The man smiled apologetically, as if he was a little embarrassed that he was having to ask this question.
"I'm sorry to bother you, master magician, but I heard that you're currently looking for work. Your captain says that you're trying to earn some coin, and I just thought you might be interested in a proposal."
"... Go on?"

How in the name of Horus did he end up doing this, Seti thought to himself as he looked at the surrounding scene. He had somehow ended up in a stranger's house (well, he said stranger; the man had introduced himself as Flavian Acilius, but that was really all he knew about him), preparing dinner for a big meeting between the shop owner and a potential major client. He understood why the meeting would be so important, many of the magicians in Magnostadt came from families that had specialized in trading, but why did he hire a random stranger to do this?

Regardless, the man was polite enough and the kids that he had met, if only momentarily, made him more than happy to do this. After all, if Acilius got the contract that meant he would earn a lot of money, and that meant that his kids would surely benefit. He had a large fondness for people who looked after their families, considering he had never been able to meet his own mother, so he wanted to do everything that he could to help out.

Because of this fact, he was currently cutting what he was going to guess was pork loins to go in some sort of posh dish. It was a pretty conservative choice of meat from what he had heard about Reim on the way over, but it was what his client had asked for and thus it was what he was going to receive. He supposed that safe was better than sorry when meeting someone new for the first time.

The evening apparently went well, from what he understood. Not that he had any time to really focus on it - the moment that dinner was finished and on the table, he had been asked to put the kids to bed. Despite the fact that many goi were afraid of magicians, it was undeniable that Seti was fantastic with kids - many nights in his youth, he had had to make sure that the other kids were quiet and didn't get under the feet of their drunken masters for fear of them taking out their drunken anger on them.

It was nice to be able to do this for a less dangerous situation, he thought with a smile as he blew out the castle. The kids had fallen asleep as he told them tales about his journey around Heliohapt and Magnostadt. It wasn't quite a fairy tale, but it was a good story to let them fall asleep to. Of course, he had censored the more horrific periods - they didn't need to have something like that brought to their attention at their age.

Stepping out of the bedroom, he checked downstairs. They were still talking and seemed to be having a good conversation, but a pile of money had been left on the side counter by the door. Next to it was a note, thankfully his teacher had made it a priority to teach him how to read.

"Hey Sutekh,

Thanks for everything you've done. This is the money we agreed on. The meeting will likely drag into the night, so let yourself out after the kids are asleep. You've done me a massive favor, and I hope one day to repay it in more than just cheap coins.

Yours,
Flavian."

Well, that was nice. He pocketed the coins and stepped out into the early evening wind, making sure to quietly close the door behind him.
