Abilities: Giana runs at 6 m/s and sprints at 12 m/s. She carries a pair of bladed fans that impart D-tier basic damage.
Rising Moon - Flicking her wrists, Giana tosses both fans at the same time at 20 m/s. Each fan deals D-tier damage.
Falling Moon - Raising both fans above her head, Giana brings them down in an X-pattern at 20 m/s to deal C-tier damage.
Resting Moon - Twirling one of her fans around her body at 20 m/s, Giana deflects up to B-tier damage.

Kioshi was grumpy. It did not happen often, but he found himself upset. After his assault outside of Remano, he found his return to the city was filled with sneers and jeers from people he had never even seen before. Normally, he was able to easily brush off the racist looks and continue about his duties, but the assault had stuck in his mind. He was upset with himself for lashing out with excessive force, though the man had been thankfully unharmed. It did not change the fact that Kioshi had raised his weapon to the man. He should have been able to simply avoid the blows and walk away from the fight.

Assuming he needed to work out some of his upset, his mind had strayed to the Coliseum. His first battle had been a victory, but he had been too nervous to let himself sink into his swordplay and enjoy the fight for a simple fight. This time, he came with a clear mind and a desire to face someone without a shield. Rufi’s defenses had been nearly impeccable and Kioshi was hoping for an opponent a bit more direct in their desire to fight.

He also could admit the Coliseum was a good chance to become exposed to more fighting styles. He would never improve if all he ever fought were the other katana wielders he guarded with. He heard his opponent was a first time visitor to the Coliseum and it made him feel more confident, Rufi had been a veteran and highly skilled and deflecting all manner of attack. Having someone new to the Coliseum would put he and his opponent on more even footing.

His fight was called and he stepped into the arena, closing his eyes to block out the noise of the audience, using his grip on Hana to center himself on the blade and the upcoming fight rather than the cheers and jeers from the audience. When he opened his eyes again, he spotted his opponent. She was dressed in rather Eastern attire though her features were clearly of Reim. She had two large fans as weapons and Kioshi was thankful for the opportunity at a new weapon type. When the bell range, he ran towards her, Giana matching him step for step before using Rising Moon. Kioshi responded by moving his blade in front of his, Parry knocking one of the fans to the side, the other one slicing his calf. He gave no indication of the pain, instead coming into a more guarded position as Giana retrieved her weapons. While it would have been easy to attack her while she was gathering the fans, it would not have been honorable and while Kioshi was in an upset state of mind, it would not push him to strike an enemy with no weapon, even in a Coliseum match. Here, more than ever, he found it important to maintain a sense of honor. He would not have the crowd claiming he had only won using dishonorable tactics.

When Giana came close again, Kioshi hopped back, raising his blade and performing a quick slash across her side and making her wince. He moved back into a defensive posture, allowing Giana to size him up and then approach. When she raised her arms to perform Falling Moon, Kioshi used Stunning Speed to move backwards, avoiding the cross attack of the other warrior. She was inexperienced, but she had practiced and the look on her face spoke of determination. Kioshi imagined from the jeers of the crowd that they were not pleased one of their own had chosen to take up Kou attire and weapons and was now trading blow for blow with a man from Kou.

Kioshi did not allow the thoughts to distract him and he swayed his way through an informal version of a kata, Hana kissing against the fans time and again as he tested her weaknesses and she did the same. She seemed to realize he was not making a serious attempt and a look of anger crossed her face. His calm demeanor was unsettling her and Kioshi was reminded why one must always remain calm in battle. Anger pushed you to be less rational and left openings, like Giana just had and Kioshi took advantage as she raised her arms over her head to perform Riposte, the horizontal cut being interrupted by Resting Moon.

Deciding he had tested her strengths enough, Kioshi wasted no time. He used Disarm to knock one of the fans away, following up the strike to her wrist with a diagonal strike, Swift Strike leaving a gash across her torso. The sight of her own blood made her even angrier and she lunged forward to try and slice across his arm. Kioshi had no intention to keep fighting, using Stunning Blow to disorient her as he moved away with a Swift Step. The bell rang to indicate the match was over and Kioshi immediately sheathed Hana and waited for Giana to regain her senses. When she looked at him with an angry look, he only offered her a calm look and a deep bow of respect before turning his back and returning through his entrance.

He avoided the other contenders for the arena, having no desire to listen to their grumblings or snide remarks. He stopped only long enough to claim his winnings before making his way to the market, picking up some fish and cream from a vendor that was friendly towards him, knowing he used the scraps of fish and cream to take care of stray cats. His steps quickly carried him to the house he rented to check on the three cats currently housed there, a meow assaulting his ears the second he swung the door open. Picking up the scraggled ball of fluff from the floor, he skritched its head as he dug out a bowl to fill with the cream, the kittens rushing forward to lap at the thick liquid while he used Hana to dice up the fish into small bites for them and divided it up across three plates.

Even if the Coliseum had not eased his anger any, the affection of the cats had helped to raise his spirits, even if their love only lasted as long as he provided them with food.
