Name: Jason Aius
Country Affiliation: Reim Empire
Race: Fanalis
Tier: D
Specialization: Dexterity
Age + Birthdate: 18, 4/6
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Personality: Jason can be called an unusually calm Fanalis. He likes to work in silence and keep to himself. That does not mean that he is anti-social or anything, he is more than willing to interact with others, it is just that when he is working or training he prefers to do so in a quiet environment and on his own. Outside of that quirk Jason is rather kind and more than ready to help anyone out if he can. That can be something mundane like carrying something heavy for them but even defending others from danger if needed. Though he can appear somewhat shy or reserved when it comes to social interaction, something that would give off the idea that he's clumsy he is in fact very skilled and focused when it comes to work. He has a sense of duty and rarely forgets a task he has been given.
Being a former slave Fanalis Jason does have a special sense of sympathy for those who are in a similar situation regardless of race, in fact he's ready to risk his life in a situation like that. Despite that however Jason is the type of person who'd rather talk this out before resorting to violence, especially since he is aware of his own strength and what he can do. However there is another side to that personality trait of his. If someone treats him like a slave or devalues him or if they try to do so to someone else while Jason is present he will not hold back, he'll enter a blind rage and let all of his anger out on that person without showing any mercy. Fanalis tend to be impulsive and easy to anger as it is, but Jason's anger takes it a step further, and in a case like that his rampage is worse than a normal average Fanalis outburst. Outside of that scenario however Jason is genuinely afraid of that. His Fanalis blood and the animalistic impulse that comes with it when he gets provoked. As such he does his best to avoid reacting impulsively and being provoked. Though nothing serious has happened so far he does fear the day when he might end up smashing up more than a market stall.
All in all, so long you don't get on his bad side by doing something really stupid, Jason is a nice guy and can become both a good friend and ally.
Likes:
- Physical labor: Though it might be somewhat ironic that a former slave enjoys this, but Jason does in fact like to do physically demanding tasks. He seems to find both peace in them and relax at the same time. He also enjoys carrying out repairs and restorations.
- Practicing: Much like working, training and combat practice put Jason at ease and take his mind off things.
- Helping: Jason finds a certain satisfaction in helping out those in need, especially if they share a fate similar to his past. It always makes him glad that he managed to be of use.
Dislikes:
- Arrogance: Arrogant people who look down on others annoy Jason. Though it won't trigger one of his outburst right away, he isn't very fond of them.
- Slavery: It really goes without saying. Jason is not a fan of slavery. He is disgusted with it and those that are involved in it and he makes no attempt to hide it.
- Traitors: Those who betray their allies and friends without a good and sensible reason are scum in Jason's eyes and he does not associate with them.
Aspirations: Jason has quite a few aspirations, becoming stronger, becoming a good person, progressing in his life and others, though they really all lead towards the same goal. His dream is to end slavery completely. Deep down he thinks that it's as silly and childish as it is to wish for all wars to end, but even so, if there is the slightest chance for it to happen he'll try. He is aware that it's not something that's gonna happen overnight and He will need a lot of people and support to make it happen, but he's seen that the Reim Empire did it, so there is no reason to believe that the world couldn't do the same. As such Jason has already decided that he will do everything he can to reach that goal. He is also interested in finding the mage who wiped out the Fanalis corps, however he is rather careful about that as he wouldn't want it to become an obsession.
Phobias/fears: Jason's primary fear is becoming a slave again, the very idea makes him tremble. This rather specific fear expanded over time as well. Jason is also afraid of being physically restrained in any way. Whether someone is holding him down, he is chained up or even locked in a room, all of that gives him an uneasy feeling and he quickly becomes nervous when faced with a situation like that. This makes Jason rather cautious or even paranoid sometimes.
Face-Claim: Emiya Shirou, Fate/Stay Night
Hair Color: Red
Eye Color: Golden
Height: 180 cm
Weight: 75 kg
Appearance: Jason has a tall and well built body. His hair is slightly darker than that of other Fanalis, giving it a somewhat rusty look. Jason's face doesn't really have any sharp lines but is well defined nonetheless. Thanks to the hard work he did in the past and later on his daily workout Jason has a rather well developed body, though he isn't so muscular that it would be noticed under his clothes, he's far away from not being in excellent shape.
He likes to wear comfortable clothes that are good for travelling and doesn't seem to pay too much attention to fashion and the like, whatever's the most practical outfit for the task at hand, he'll wear it.
Rukh Alignment: White Rukh
Special Traits: n/a
History: Jason doesn't quite remember the earliest days of his childhood, the parts he does remember are not particularly nice. He never got to meet his mother and both he and his father were slaves in the Kou Empire. Tough Jason didn't fully grasp the concept at that time, he did understand that it had something to do with his race, the fact that he was a Fanalis. His father used to tell him that it was because they were stronger than others and feared them, but Jason never lingered much on the whole idea. He did the tasks he was given and endured the punishment and cruelties forced upon him. It wasn't a nice life and Jason desperately wanted to escape, however before he even knew it and without ever having a chance to try escaping he and his father found themselves in the Reim Empire. They were free and no longer slaves and could do as they wished. That sense of freedom was a whole new experience for him, one that he quickly learned to enjoy.
Jason's father was a strong man, even for a Fanalis and he enjoyed a good fight, so he visited the coliseum quite often. He quickly gained recognition as he won match after match. By the time Jason was a teen his father had joined the Fanalis corps. At the same time he was also training his son, first with swords. Though it appeared that Jason wasn't too bad when it came to swordsmanship there was one thing he proved to be much more skilled at, in fact so much that it could be considered a waste not to focus on that. Archery seemed to be Jason's call and he quickly grew accustomed to using bow and arrow. Things seemed to be going pretty good, his father was earning well and they had a nice home. Jason felt somewhat lonely at times as his father was often absent, but he became used to it and it made him somewhat independent too. Though Jason wasn't a fan of violence, he did enjoy a good sparring or a friendly fight just like his father did, so even when his father was off to work Jason would train on his own, improving his body and his technique with bow and arrow. He never really touched up on the sword though, he was a Fanalis and he relied on his raw strength and hand to hand combat skills to pull him through if he ever were in a situation where he could not rely on his archery.
One day however his father didn't come back at all, Jason's father and pretty much the whole Fanalis corps were wiped out. Jason was sad at first and mourned the death of his father, but soon found that his life changed little and he soon returned to his usual routine. Deep down however he had already made up his mind to find the man responsible, though in the end that was only a secondary goal to him. When he turned 18 he felt that he had trained enough to actually take on the world and try to make a change for once.
Role-Play Sample: Jason's arm slid across his forehead as he wiped big beads of sweat onto the ground. Not more than twenty minutes ago was he on a break and was sitting in the cool shadow of trees, drinking water and nibbling on some cheese.
However that break was over now and it was back to training for him, right under the scorching heat of the afternoon sun. Jason didn't mind however, his brain wouldn't boil and he was used to the heat by now, this has been his routine for years after all. He took an arrow from and pulled back his bow taking aim at the target. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes. There was no need to look, an archer knew if he was going to hit or not before he fired the shot. Jason released the arrow and it flew, burying itself into the target just as he let out the air he had sucked in previously. A moment later he opened his eyes and smiled.
A perfect hit.
