Ura Temi

Ura Temi
Ura Temi 20zagrs

Name: Ura Temi
Nationality: Heliohapt
Race: Human
Tier: D
Specialization: Domination
Age + Birthdate: 17, Born on July 22
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Homosexual
Ura is a sneaky fellow, to be sure. Somewhere in-between shady and mildly suspicious, to be exact. That said, he is extremely trustworthy. If he likes you, which is hard to tell in the first place.

It's a vicious cycle.

Ura is like a Pandora's Box filled with virtues: full of contradictions. And possibly a little bit nutty. Luckily for him, he has a tendency to bring out the worst in people, making him look like a saint in comparison. Unlucky for him, he has a tendency to bring out the worst in people, making his life just that much more complicated.

Ura is a polite bastard, in that when he is agitated he will drown you in a sea of compliments, stroke your ego until it's ripe for popping, and then savor its slow but steady deflation as he treats you like royal dung until he feels the offender has served his time. He never curses aloud, hates raising his voice, and loves to talk but doesn't for lack of things to say. And on that note: Ura doesn't do small talk. Anyone trying to strike up a conversation with a comment about today's weather is more likely to spot a flying Opai then wrangle a response out of Angry Ura.

Curiosity is, to Ura's disappointment, not his middle name. Ura is driven by a deeply-ingrained need to explore everything and anything he terms "suspicious", which includes everything with a pulse and most things without one. He likes collecting shiny goodies and pretty trinkets, labeling those who present him with such gifts his "Collectors". Whether or not the word is used as a compliment depends on Ura's mood at the moment.

Ura prefers companionship when alone, and personal space when not. He lives his life 100% sure that he is cursed to live a life filled with doom, and loves every minute of it.

Ura has a habit of constantly contradicting himself, following a moral compass that veers so off-course, it might just be headed in the right direction.

-Animals that very much don't like him (at least to begin with), because he finds that the challenge of convincing them to like him proves a valuable bonding experience.
-Animals that like him, because bonding can be a very loud, smelly, painful experience.
-People with Depth, because they never cease to surprise him.
-Shallow fools, because they never cease to entertain him.
-Winning, because "its a helluva lot more fun than losing!"

-Ugly people, because he doesn't like looking at them. This applies to both inner and outer ugliness.
-Biased people, because he is one and wishes he wasn't.
-People who don't like animals, because they're jerks.

Ura aspires to aspire to something. He has a distinct lack of motivational energy, and is jealous of those annoying people who wake up in the morning brimming with vitality and optimism. He swears that the only thing keeping him going is that nagging feeling in the pit of his stomach that tells him something is missing- but what? He is constantly exploring new things to fill the lingering void, completely oblivious to the fact that what he really needs is companionship and a bit of love, whether it comes in the form of romance or an adopted family of close friends.

Ura fears, above all else........mosquitoes. That, and making meaningful relationships with others because he was  constantly ignored by his parents as a child. Impossible to please, Ura's family finally convinced him that close relationships with others only served to hurt the one who did the pleasing: he does not understand the concept of "relationship equals". Instead, he looks upon "comrade" with a detached mindset and firm belief that such emotional bonds are formed only so that the bonded could get a "leg-up" on the other through emotional manipulation.

Face-Claim: Dunno if he has a name...
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Grey
Height: 5"10
Weight: 150 lbs
Appearance: Tall, lean, and not as tan as most those who live in Heliohapt are. A few freckles are scattered below his steel grey eyes, eyes that pierce deep even in the most casual of glances. Ura likes to keep gauze wrapped around his mouth, because it helps to keep him from making small-talk, which never fails to blacken his mood. Because of this, his voice is a tad bit muffled when he speaks, and he is incapable of being understood over long distances unless the listener has particularly keen ears. His straight black hair is kept mid-length and tidy, along with everything else Ura wears. His favorite color is black for appearance's sake, and his second favorite color is white because who in their right mind wears black in the middle of a desert?! "Shoes" is not in Ura's vocabulary.

Rukh Alignment: White
Special Traits: None

History: Ura doesn't recall having a history. Most definitely not a history filled with hardship, starvation, neglect, and ruin, no sirr-ee! Ura is not one to dwell on the past, but the one shining light in his life is would have to be his companion Sheba, who gave purpose to his otherwise empty existence. Ever since they were united, both Ura and Sheba have traveled the continent in search of a purpose with which to dedicate their lives. Or, at least, Ura has. Sheba just kinda follows Ura around because she finds him entertaining and pays for the chow. Together they have stood through thick and thin, establishing a reputation as a force to be reckoned with. They have also made quite a few enemies in their travels, many of whom would very much like to squish the odd duos' heads together like a grapefruit to this day. And they are odd. They single-handedly disbanded a nest of prominent thieves, were captured by said thieves the next day, and danced their way to freedom by masquerading as a local Troupe, earning the Ringmaster an entire bucket of gold with their masterful performance.

Ura's motto: Life is a game in which every loss is just a stepping stone necessary to lead you to greater heights. Despite this, he's always seen the pessimistic side of things; it is probably the greatest contradiction in his otherwise savvy personage, and he blames his deceased father for this particular flaw. His parents were wealthy when alive, and close enough to Heliohapt's royal line that they were practically considered blood relatives. Their death haunts Ura to this day, and is one of the many mysteries that Ura is determined to unravel.

Officially, Ura is jobless. Unofficially, he considers himself a rogue with an attitude, and no one as of yet has had the stones to disprove it. He takes odd jobs offered by high-ranking officials, works with the local authorities in exchange for food and lodgings, and whatever it takes to satisfy his current obsession. He had to steal food and pick pockets to get by as a child, whenever his parents forgot to stock the pantries in order to feed their hungry child, and he puts those skills to good use. Because of his harsh upbringing, Ura never expected anything from anyone, which served him well growing up after his parents died. They left him quite the inheritance, but dammed Ura by writing in their will that they would not bequeath any of their riches to their son until his eighteenth birthday. Ura has risen from utter poverty to a somewhat modest life over a period about a decade long, and has never forgotten the lessons he learned along the way.

Role-Play Sample:

Ura lie still in the desert sand. It was silent as death itself; indeed, buzzards and other foul creatures gathered 'round his prone body to feast, outstretched claws posed to rip him to shreds-

"Ghammphaa!" Ura awakened with a start, sweat sliding down his slick shoulder blades. He glanced about his spacious tent, feeling the chill desert wind caress his prone body. He shivered, then slowly sat up against the rough canvas.

"Just a dream," he muttered. "And an ominous one at that." Something howled in the distance, a testament to the black mood that hung about Ura's head that night. He sighed, wondering if he should wake Sheba. She would know just how to cheer him up.

Special Traits: This is really more for appearance. If he has no odd appearance quirks, just put none.

Aside from that, you are looking pretty good. Sounds like an interesting character!
