JOB SYSTEM
RULES
- You do not need permission to do a job or chain. If you meet the requirements, you may do the job and post it up on the job topic for approval. However, there are certain types of jobs that do need permission which are listed below.
- You must be in the same region as the job you want to complete. (ex. you can't complete a job in Balbadd if your character is in Kou.)
- You may write and complete a chain in one thread but standalone jobs must be in separate threads. However, the jobs in the chain must be clearly separated as you transition from one job to the next and the word counts must be separated as well. There should be a clear distinction for the beginning and end of jobs within the thread and all other rules apply.
- You must be of an equal or higher character tier to the job tier in order to do it. However, you may team up with others to do a job only if your character tiers collectively meet or exceed the tier of the job. (ex. if you are D Tier and want to do a C Tier job, you may bring along another D Tier member to raise your group rank to C Tier. As D Tier + D Tier will equal C Tier collectively.)
- A job will count towards your total thread limit until it has been approved and rewarded.
- If you start another chain while in a chain, you will not get the chain bonus for the previous chain.
- You must wait until the current job you're on in a chain is approved and rewarded until moving onto the next job. This is to ensure there are no issues with the previous jobs and avoid making you have to retcon content.
- While you may take the jobs that are already made, you may create your own here. Custom created jobs are encouraged, as they allow a character to show what type of things their character wants to do in order to make money.
- All posts must include the following:
- The job details must be placed within a spoiler tag at the top of the first post.
- If applicable, all attacks made must be bolded.
- If applicable, magoi and stamina must be written at the bottom of each post and deducted in value as you use it.
- If applicable, all items and weapons brought into the thread must be placed within a spoiler at the bottom of the first post as well as any post in which they are used.
- If applicable, all abilities used in the thread must be placed within a spoiler at the bottom of the post in which they were used.
- If applicable, the word count of each post should be provided at the bottom of the post. It should be gradually added or a total must be provided at the end of the thread.
TYPES
- [ SPECIAL ] - This type of job is not able to be created by normal members and is released by staff periodically. These will yield unique rewards in exchange for completing a specific challenge or plot prompt. They may have altered word counts and rule sets that may vary from job to job. These may only be taken by a limited amount of members and they are not repeatable. However, they can open up important plot opportunities in the area they are located in. (ex. A special job may lead you to a meeting with a country leader or allow you to acquire a special trait or item.)
- [ REGULAR ] - This type of job is able to be created by normal members. They are normal jobs that are not repeatable. Only one person or a group may take this type before it is archived. The person or group must apply for this type of job before they complete it to prevent any complications.
- [ REPEATABLE ] - This type of job is able to be created by normal members. These may be taken by multiple groups or individuals at any time but they may only be completed once by those groups or individuals. However, these jobs are not typically archived so they may be completed by a large amount of people.
- [ PRIVATE ] - This type of job is able to be created by normal members. These are typically custom tailored jobs that a member may create for a specific group or person and may only be taken by those individuals before it is archived.
- [ CHAIN ] - This type of job is able to be created by normal members. These are groups of jobs that yield a chain bonus upon completion. They will be categorized into one of the types above as well. Here is a guideline for chain bonuses:
- Chain Bonus: D Tier - At least a 1,000 total word count. (ex. 2 D Tier jobs would equate to 1,000 words.)
- Chain Bonus: C Tier - At least a 2,000 total word count. (ex. 4 D Tier jobs would equate to 2,000 words.)
- Chain Bonus: B Tier - At least 4,000 total word count. (ex. 8 D Tier jobs would equate to 4,000 words.)
- Chain Bonus: A Tier - At least 10,000 word count total in job requirements. (ex. 20 D Tier jobs would equate to 10,000 words.) This bonus may be exchanged for a unique reward such as a minor plot opportunity / advancement or a low tier magic tool. This will only be given as a chain bonus for REGULAR and PRIVATE chains only.
TIERS
Just like many other aspects of our site, jobs run off of the general concept of the ranking system. They require word counts and grant money, experience, and possibly even more.
- D TIER - This tier of job usually consist of simple,
easy tasks such as gathering herbs, hunting small animals, delivering a package, etc. While these jobs may contain combat, the risk is low. - These have a requirement of 250 words.
- These will reward 3,000 Huang and 50 EXP.
- C TIER - This tier of job usually consists of tasks that are slightly more difficult and complex. For example it could task you with hunting a large beast, retrieving a rare flower on top of a volcano, spying on a small tribe to get information, etc. These jobs may contain combat and the risk is moderate.
- These have a requirement of 500 words.
- These will reward 7,000 Huang and 100 EXP.
- B TIER - This tier of job usually consists of difficult, dangerous tasks. For example it could task you with defeating a group of well armed thieves, infiltrating a small fort to assassinate soldiers, exploring a cave of ferocious beasts. These jobs contain some form of combat and the risk is high.
- These have a requirement of 750 words.
- These will reward 15,000 Huang and 200 EXP.
- A TIER - This tier of job is typically created by staff and must be narrated by a DM. These are usually issued by high ranking NPCs in the country they are listed within. They are extremely difficult and may take a group of people to complete.
- These have a requirement of 1000 words.
- These will reward 30,000 Huang and 500 EXP.
- These may yield additional unique rewards.
- These must be applied for similar to REGULAR jobs.
- These may only be accepted by characters affiliated with the country they are listed in. Characters not affiliated with the country may accept these jobs if they have permission from the NPC. However, they may assist affiliated characters who have accepted the job.
- Ω TIER - This tier of job is typically created by staff and must be narrated by a DM. These are usually issued by high ranking NPCs in the country they are listed within. They are extremely difficult and may take a group of people to complete.
- These have a requirement of 1,250 words.
- These will reward 70,000 Huang and 1000 EXP.
- These may yield additional unique rewards.
- These must be applied for similar to REGULAR jobs.
- These may only be accepted by characters affiliated with the country they are listed in. Characters not affiliated with the country may not accept or join these jobs under any circumstances.
COUPONS
Coupons may be obtained through events, special jobs, and may be obtained through trades. No matter what the coupon, they have a few rules regarding their use:
- They have a one time use unless stated otherwise.
- They may not be used on a chain bonus.
- They may be used for events if they grant a job reward.
