Mentality
Personality: Mei, a woman who’s not so knowledgeable on the world or wanting to seek wisdom on those things she deems as petty. Her main concern relies with her family and currently as her sick twin brother being the last member of family that she has, she feels as if she has an obligation to protect him. She known as a person who has a kind soul, often described as a motherly instinct at times. She can’t help but protect those whom she deems as helpless- even at the expense of her own health. However she does have a priority list, as she isn’t naïve enough to believe that everyone could be saved in certain situations. Even so, she can often be seen around with a smile lurking on her face along with a skip in her step. She attempts to act more masculine at times, perhaps leading her to stay in a manlier pose at times or perhaps crack crude jokes. Though it’s part of an act, it has become a habit of hers to even spill this behaviour out even when she’s not acting. Nor would she care about it however, she was often mistook as a male in the past as a kid as people usually thought of her as her brother as identical twins rather than those of different genders. But this wasn’t only based upon looks; she’s more of a rash and outgoing type of person, never reserved to herself and could be deemed as tom-boyish at times. She had never been the one for being formal, nor does she ever participate in cultural festivities, unless she was forced or provoked to in a way.
A bit of a muscle head at times, she doesn’t really ‘think’ when it comes to problems, usually taking them either head-on or simply ignoring them to let it pile up and later cause her even more problems. She’s never the one to strategize things, nor does she easily trust people that she may have been paired up with if she only just met them. It’s probably the reason why she’s never been seen as the leader type- though she does seem to think that she’ll eventually be higher ranked and lead forces into battle. However, it’s only a small naïve dream of hers.
Likes:
Her Brother - The boy whom always took care of her when she was little, even when both of her parents eventually passed away. She feels indebted to him and loves him with all her heart and perhaps even more. Only because it's him that she thought of her plan of deceiving other that she was him to join into the military in his place as well as earn money for the two of them to live.
Zou Empire - Though she's not too keen at those who lead the top of the empire, she does have liking for where she lives along with having a dream of perhaps one day securing a place in the empire where she could live with her brother in peace. However, she sadly knows that may never come to be with the current situation.
Dislikes:
Other Nations - After her father's death being told to her family at the hands of Reim, which eventually led to her mother dying of depression and sickness, she grew a huge hate to the outsiders of Zou and believes them to all be enemies. Though she may come to like a outsider in the future, she would never fully be able to trust them as there will always linger a doubt in her heart.
Greed - She doesn't seem to like people with a sense of greed, perhaps that's due to the fact that she didn't have much in her life. It's absolutely despicable in her mind when someone has money and power yet doesn't seem to feel like it's enough. Though, she does have this side to herself- though it's more like a longing of something for not only herself. But she completely thinks this is far from greed and is more noble.
Phobias: Monophobia, the fear of loneliness. As she's been relying on other her whole life, just till now she couldn't stand the concept of being alone. It's a fear that still haunts her to this day. It was likely a sense of this fear that made her take up arms and take her brother place in the army rather than him going himself. She rather not lose him and with his sickness she knew that he wouldn't even last a week. Perhaps this fear may even stem to friends, but she's currently only has her brother and wishes to never lose him.
Aspirations: She dreams for peace for not only herself but her brother. She doesn't seem to care for anything else nor desire anything else. But for that to happen she plans to climb up the ranks and eventually get enough money for the two of them to just disappear and get settled somewhere else whilst also curing his disease. This dream however is somewhat selfish as she never took her brother feeling and input on this. But she’s a rash girl that acts before she thinks.
Physicality
Face-Claim: Kikuchi Makoto of THE iDOLM@STER
Weight: Forty-three kilograms.
Hair Color: Dark Brown.
Eye Color: Brown.
Height: One hundred and sixty-three centimetres.
Rukh Alignment: White Rukh.
Special Traits: N/A.
Appearance: Without a chance of looks, she looks somewhat feminine, yet can also be judged as androgynous if wearing the right clothing. It's due to her mother bearing similar characteristics. The look also seems to be passed down to her brother as well, though there seems to be a slight difference in hair colour. Still, they both get judged as identical twins a lot but that's due to people not quite looking closely. At home, she decides to wear a traditional Chinese style dress, not worrying for other appearing up as she lives with her brother. But if she's known to have a visit, she'd ask him to hide as she'd get dress-up in a more masculine outfit.
When disguising herself as her brother, she uses bandages to try and make her breasts seem more smaller along with using a more baggier outfit or simply some kind of armour that would hide any suspicions of femininity. Other than that, her natural facial features don't need to be changed one bit. The only thing that would separate herself from her brother would be the slight hair colour difference but unless someone was checking the two next to each other it'd be hard to tell the difference.
History
- Spoiler:
- Mei and her brother were born around the same time, however he was born first before her –which he sometime teases her about-, making him technically the older sibling. Her mother didn’t expect to have twins, as Mei was completely a surprise to her but there was no doubt that she was delighted the moment a newly born girl popped out. Though, it seemed at their birth was poorly timed as her father had been working in the army abroad due to the fact that they had a dire need for soldiers in that area. Unfortunately there was little doubt that he’d be coming back anytime soon.
The duo only had their mother for the current time, with their father popping in and out every once in a while before being whisked away by army work to support the family –though the work was compulsory due to the laws-. The children barely knew their father but appreciated each time that their family finally got a chance to be fully together. Though they were kids it didn’t take a genius to realize that their mother was truly happy the moment she got time to spend with their father.
When their mother was busy, Wei, her brother took more of a leadership role and took care of his sister despite the couple of minute age gap between them two. She didn’t mind however, actually Mei adored her brother more than anything else and felt a deep bond connecting them. She wanted to be just like him and attempted to act more boy-like in the younger years but took a bit of a wrong turn and became more of a action first type of girl despite that it was far from her brother. Due to this she began to be known as a little rascal from time to time.
But as it always is with life, things sometime take the wrong turn. When on the job, her father was killed. Though it was unknown how it exactly occurred a message was delivered to them that was due to a member of Reim. Her mother was absolutely devastated and her will slowly began to wilt bit by bit. They were also starting to lack an income of money. Eventually her mother died, due to losing her will to live from a simple sickness. They had the money to cure her but her mother didn’t seem to want to live anymore. Her death seemed to take a toll on her brother more than anything else as she was his main encouragement.
He began to do petty jobs to allow the two to live on but it was hard and not only that but his body was seemingly getting weaker. Though it wasn’t apparent as first he was clearly more exhausted and it was quite clear that he was sick. She knew how bad it was, it wasn’t something that could simply be cured as no one seemed to have any details on it. Eventually, he’d pass away if this continued and not even that but the empire was badgering him to join up in the force. That’s when she took a stand and decided to join disguised as him. Not only for his sake but to eventually work her way up and find a cure along with a way that the two could live a peaceful life. But she needed the position and power to do so.

- Spoiler:
- 'Shamu...? Seems a bit of a simple yet odd name.' She was pretty much listening to Shamu while at the same time digging at the ground with her hands. It felt rather simple doing these actions like this as there she easily was able to pick up things which looked of interest rather than having a bag full of dirt. After a girl got to work hard to get what she wants in this life.
Due to these thoughts, she kindly declined the offer for a shovel. "It's much easier using my hands. After all, we get more profit when the work is harder~" She chuckled, trying to lighten up the mood. Yet at the corner of her eye, she was still keeping a lookout at the fire Pokémon, feeling particularly unsafe from it. She didn't know what that devil was thinking, although she thought it was most likely faking its sleep, awaiting for the perfect time to strike.
She took a rather analysing look at Shamu, checking for any suspicious features. You never know when you could be confronted by trouble even from the nicest looking of people. "So, I guess you from this area then? You seem to know what you doing." She said with a rather curious voice, as their conversation continued...
