Reim was burning.

She watched flames lick the sky; her screams were swallowed by the smoke. She stood there in the ruins, and wept. What was left there for her now? All she could do was weep. So she wept and wept until her tears stung more than the smoke.

        Reim was burning.

She rode across the sky as a falling star, trailing red-hot metal in her wake. It was somewhat beautiful, silver threading the horizon like lacework, but she had no time to look behind herself. She could barely even see what was there on either side, eyes directed forwards and mind focused upon her objective. All she could hear were the whispers of the rukh in her ears, quiet and frightened. They had ceased their usual birdsong, cowering around her like geese hiding within the paper-reeds, hence she had not been able to discern the meaning in their hushed whispers at first. But soon enough she began to understand:

                  Reim was burning.

She saw the smoke before the crimson flames, the heavens choked with shades of red. Marble monuments which had once shone star-bright were now coloured black, flecks of scarlet decorating their bases. It took everything she had to remain calm, even as her cheeks paled a choleric green, and tightened her hand around her spears instead. Following the sound of the rukh’s whispers past the smoke and flames, it was evident that a sharp blade was needed.

That was when she saw him.

Amidst the blackened ruins was a monstrosity somehow darker than soot, covered with a black metal whose dull hue refused even the flames below. She heard the rukh whisper what he had done, and something hotter than fire spread through her veins, filling her heart with fear and courage and pure determination. A determination to punish this thing for burning Reim…

…but she tempered her mettle with the First Snow instead. Of course, she wanted this foe dead, but her victory or defeat mattered little if Reim was just ash and soot. And so, as snow fell like white starlight upon the burning streets, two Night Talons glimmered blue-black in her hands. For now that she had created a more beneficial battlefield, it was time that she joined the fray.

Leaping from her place atop Sirrush, Zubaidah would activate her Luna Heels with Midnight Fly while casting some Dusk’s Tears onto her left Night Talon. Donning her custom-made bracelet, Nafs Akhr, she would then cast a Point of Control in front of herself, and touch the tip of the Night Talon into the magnetic field. Pouring magoi from her body into the spear via the Yambhala’s techniques, Zubaidah would close her eyes and focus on the unique sound of her foe’s rukh. Once she had attuned to them, she would then hurl the Night Talon with the Guidance of ‘Ammi and Abu through the Point of Control, her magoi rocketing it forwards like a turbocharged engine, aimed directly at Julius.

Sly only had so much that he could do, his body was getting weaker and sick. Their foe was fleeting and his arsenal was broad. If this was their fight to win, it was time to put the barking dog down before it got far too rabid. Octavius while rushing would swing his other fist, a Lance Breaker. Shattering what was left of the bone by putting even more energy into his punch. Still, there wasn't much time to act, a wave of lightning would begin to ride on the ground. Sly, using his massive build would scoop up Octavius, throwing him 60m into the air. He would need to use his Waterfall Armor Twice which would absorb the lightning. Still, the sickness in his body delayed his reaction would now find himself hindered by a snowstorm. He wouldn't have the time to attack now.

Octavius, uncertain how to feel about the storm would use it to his advantage. With such a heavy snow it would be hard for him to be seen, or to see his target. He didn't need to see him though, he just needed to crash down upon him with all his force. Octavius would throw his body downward, his magoi charging until he himself was golden. He came down from heaven with the force of a falling angel, he would utilize the Last Dawn. His ultimate Equalizer against magicians, and the last thing to level this playing field.

Then came the boom, the sun crashed onto earth, Octavius was coming in to end this. With only so much magoi left, he was going to turn this into a battle of the fists. Could this skeleton match his might in a straight-up brawl?

Dm Notes: Octavius Used Lance Breaker Scaled to shatter empowered strike. Sly threw Octavius 60m into the air, he falls down on Julius to use to Last Dawn while Sly protects himself with Two uses of Waterfall armor which should protect from 6 A-tiers. Remember each blocked attack or damage taken sly shoots a stream of water back at you. And that the weakened clashing is only for damage so the defensive and supplementary moves are still A-tier in effectiveness.

Lava still poured out taking its toll on the land of Remi’s capital.  He had become accustomed to the heat around them as they traded attacks. A cooling force could be felt from behind him as a new player joined the fray. She had cast snow that calmed the flames produced by his attack, but she had not stopped the attack itself.  As for the battle between Octavius and Sly, Julius was holding his own and could not help but wonder how things would be going if Jynx had still been here.  He did know that his efforts had been useful and that was all he could have asked of the Overlord.  At this current time, Julius was safely out of the risk of an attack from Sly or Octavius as he had used his Ride the Lightning spell along with A tier flight from his form to move away from the range of Octavius’ fist for now. However, he did watch Sly toss his Fanalis leader into the air as water stream from his armor found their way towards Julius, at the same time from behind him a spear had been launched in his direction from the woman who had cast the snow spell. Was another magician here? No, he would have noticed like ruhk gathering to another favored by it.

While he had noticed the change in temperature from behind him, he had not yet looked to see the cause of it, he could not take his eyes off his target, however.   Using his bones and natural ability to manipulate them into weapons to aid him in this problem.  He would command them to snap together and form a shield in a similar fashion to the buckler shield he had seen before.  This would allow for his bones to become unbreakable. He would allow for the Spear to clash with the natural durability of his bones as he felt the 3 A-tiers worth of damage meet the metal bone.  The force made him take two steps forward. However, he found that the attack had been weakened and had each dropped one tier to deal 3 B tier damage to his Omega Tier bones.
From above the Fanalis came crashing down with another major-infused attack.  He had to think fast, well it was a good thing for Julius that he was also Zoran, and the air-born assault always looked cool but left one wide open.   Julius used his A-tier flight assisted by Ride the Lightning, as he dashed to his right for 4 meters, and then took into the air with flight moving himself out of the range of the Elbow strike. Julius transformed the hand Shield he had made with his right arm into a katana-type blade holding his arm where his blade was near his cheek as he entered the Dragonfly stance before using the same methods of movement to bring his spear to meet Octavius’ right side with the A tier ability damage of his bones backed by the enhancement of his spell Energized for another B tier.  Julius would then retract the spear-tipped arm as he swung a sword arm down using his Jigen-ryu Strike. This strike also would Deal 1 A and B-tier worth of damage.  If connected they would slash through the Fanalis. This spear attack was timed to strike before the elbow of Octavius could meet the ground, preventing any effects from his magoi from touching anything.

Once again, it did not matter if anything would land a killing blow, if Julius was not hindered to do so he would once again fly backward with his A-tier flight and Ride the Lightning carrying him backward for 15 meters almost instantly.

As if things have been planned out from the start, three figures would enter the ring placing their own lives on the line. Not many even knew that Julius had such close followers or even knew of more than Hana.  The Dark Djinn Zoran who was also Julius had gathered two people with a promise from Kina and had found himself with a rare magical item.  There had become his three closest tools for his revenge and had added to this attack on Reim along the way.    They approached from the only area they could thanks to Zuzu.

They had been waiting for their leader's attacks to ease down so they may approach and aid him in the battle, however, they had been unable to approach. Now, as they stood within the snow-covered ground where speed would mean nothing they approach Zuzu from her left right and left sides.  Hana had the staff she always carried, Yurmeshia had his blades drawn, and Jack seemed to rifle of some kind, though it looked as if he had no interest in the woman in the white armor.

"You two got this meat sack, right? I am going to aid master." He was of course referring to  Zuzu as the meat sack and walked off to get in better range to fire off some rounds downrange.   As Jack walked off the other two nodded heads and started circling around Zuzu from 20 meters away.  Hana did not delay, feeding magoi into her hands as she prepped one of her spells. However as she did this the other figure dressed in Kina Ninjia attire with his clan logo on the bag, Yurameshi waved Hana off.   "You go help Lord Julius as well. I shall take this one-on-one.  Do not argue with me just go." He had thrown in that last part due to the signs of her about to protest.  He knew he was the only one who was even open to stand a chance against this warrior.  Hana had not yet learned the proper ways of fighting with her all. He was a seasoned Kina warrior and the one who was teaching Julius the art of the sword.

To make sure the white armored warrior would focus on him Yurameshi would use his Iron Rain] attack as he leaped 5m into the air throwing kunai at a target up to 40m away throwing a spray of kunai into their pack dealing A-tier damage in the forms of stabs across the back or front.

That was not all though to prevent Zuzu from being able to even see where his friends and young master were he reached into his nag as he produced his Ash Field, A bomb of smoke and ash is thrown down by the npc creating a smoke cloud 10m in diameter obscuring vision for four posts for those inside. throwing it as he started to fall back down to the ground.  Once his feet would meet the snow he would start to run towards Zuzu though his speed was reduced.

Now that she had announced herself, Zubaidah knew that she would face an immediate response. Dispersing the First Snow around herself, she would create a half-metre radius sphere where the cold winds did not affect her, before activating Salamander Coat in case of any surprise attacks. She had finally learnt her lesson on that front. In order to ensure that she could stay out of any other attacks, however, Zubaidah would fly further upwards with Midnight Flight until she was fifty metres in the air above the smouldering rooftops, zigzagging with Graceful Airs. From there, she would survey the burning landscape, making out a few discernible figures. She was uncertain whether they were friend or foe, but she could not be too cautious on the battlefield. Casting a Sol Tigre around herself, Zubaidah would then don the pauldrons of her Parthevian Raiment with Nimble Fingers.

While Hana and Jacks made their way to Lord Julius, Julius' attacks found purchase in Octavius as the Fanalis leader would be sliced in half.  With the most significant obstacle handled, Julius could take a moment and scan the battlefield and see who and what was causing the snow. From 100 meters away he could see a new area of snow coming down putting out the flames from his spell.   Using Zoran's step and sustaining Ride the Lightning and Energize Julius instantly started to dash towards the newcomer, however, his intent was not to get too close moving only 50 meters in a few steps. He was now Close enough to see Hana and Jacks making their way towards him.  With a step, Julius met two of his followers and got an understanding of the situation. Understanding what was going on Julius commanded them to retreat for now as the objective and threat had been dealt with for now.  Meanwhile, Julius would use his A-tier flights and Energized to move him closer until he was within 50 meters of the First Snow ability.  He felt a chilling touch reach his bones,  the magic of the snow seemed to slow his natural speed, however, this magic would not be enough to fully slow Julius. As it stood Julius was running with the assistance of a B-tier spell on his body but also A-tier flight which was granted from his form thus the Chilling effect that froze limbs did not entirely matter to him. His spells combined overpowering the effects of the one spell.   Julius saw Yuramershi approx 20 meters away from him, as Yurameshi was 20 meters away from Zuzu when he arrived and Julius was still able to use his Zorn's step as his A-tier flight battled against the debuff and his B-tier spell allowed his step to become a dash and run.  With the source of the spell above them in the air approximately 50 meters from the ground. (Since you did not state where you were in your first post I am presuming you were on the ground and thus went 50 meters up in this post.)

Julius looked up at the woman as his sockets glared with a magical glow. If looks could kill Zuzu would probably be seriously injured. Instead of running into a battle with a healthy and fresh foe, Julius knew it was time to head out.  Keeping an eye on her Julius motioned to Yurameshi to move closer and he too moved to his swordmaster. If Zuzu would not attack neither would Julius. "Time to go, Master, if you would please be so kind as to provide us with cover. "   Yurameshi would nodd his head as he reached into his pouch and tossed down Ash Field A bomb of smoke and ash is thrown down by the npc creating a smoke cloud 10m in diameter obscuring vision for four posts for those inside. With With Yurameshi able to see he motioned to his left as Julius would grab his Swordmaster as his left arm that was a spear morphed into a claw allowing him to lift the man and used Zoran's step with Ride the Lighting and A tier flight to move 20, then 40, then 60 and eventually 100 meters in the same direction he had been instructed to move. With Zoran's step able to become a dash and run along with the flight he should have had no issues removing himself from the fight. Meanwhile, Jack and Hana were not known to be helpers of Julius outside of the woman they had seen earlier. It was hoped that they too would get away but if not they would have to deal with it.

She was too far away from him. She could not stop him. All she could do was watch.

Keeping the First Snow away from herself, Zubaidah used her pre-existing Point of Control combined with the boost of Midnight Flight to plummet down fifty metres down towards the blackened earth, hands tight around a Night Talon as she descended with Graceful Airs, thinking that she could reach Octavius. Realising that she was too late, and seeing Yurameshi twenty metres away instead, she would use the momentum of her drop to immediately perform a scaled Furcas Stance at him boosted past Flash Step speeds with her Salamander Coat, skewering him through the shoulder of his dominant arm into the ground, before kicking his diaphragm and side of the head in a Criminal Ballet. As Zubaidah drew another Night Talon with Nimble Fingers, Yurameshi would feel her Sugar and Spice musk disorientate him whilst his body would crumple to the ground, unable to breathe nor even think. As such, when Julius came to retrieve Yurameshi after , he would instead grasp onto nothing, repelled by Sol Tigre due to his metallic physiology. If he got any closer, she would even fire a Stabbing Talon from the spear lodged in Yurameshi in Julius’ direction, warding him off.

That’s enough.

As Octavius fell to the ground the magician was swift with his strike. Despite his mastery of magic, it appeared he seemed versed in fighting people. There was no magi with eyes on him, only his brother-in-arms doing his best to keep back this undead beast. He fell with such force that the earth was sure to turn asunder, but in a blink once again the dark king was under him. With a fist fast as lightning and just as strong Octavius tried to bring himself down, but he was against a force of nature as well. He would not strike the ground. His blow would've surely broken his arm off he was unsure of the damage he had taken. It was certain though, he could not fight back, he could not breath as a he felt the cold cut of a blade in his flesh.

Sly could not react, he was unsure, his enemy retreating and his king bleeding. The lava had hurt those who were unmoving, who allowed it's presence to grow. Ghost, the foreign magician lost his borg, and now his body would've burned as well. He had had staff, he had his magic but the body which he needed to control was withering away. His lower body would've melted if he had touched the ground, if not the raining fire was still enough to burn holes through his flesh. This was an unfortunate fight for most. But, still, he would see in his retreat, and in his battle with another king that the rukh of both sides flourished in a storm. This battle was still growing.

Octavius has taken fatal damage, Sly is stuck in shock checking on his king. Ghost has taken atleast 3 turns of damage, 1 was enough to break his borg. His stack can logical only take one more instance of A-tier damage before breaking and his body has taken severe damage.

As he was breathing hard it was not physically painful. But still if one had to guess it was not looking pretty for Ghost. Nearly burned and nearly beaten. He has all but given up. He was alone and no one was in sight. As far as he can tell.
With a smile on his face, he would look on.
He could feel his borg getting ready to break under the weight it was under. The hot lava was not Ghost's friend and if he was to touch it yet again. He would be sure to be dead. As he stood tall he would take out his wand.
With a serious look on his face.

Using Terra Fist to his aid he would punch the ground. Making sure to aim for what little was left. As the lava was covering nearly everything. But he was lucky enough to have that going for him.
Next, he would cause a 5-meter boulder to appear. Just in time as it raised him sky high. With his metal steed next to him but no more for the moment. Ghost would start to swing his wand and cause a spell to come.
Shield Of Ghost:Athena was cast. With a nice holy light magic touching his flesh. It would start to heal him. No doctor could ever heal him up this good. He would cast it yet again and again. To try and heal himself too.nearly perfect health. With this plan going as planned.

Ghost would be engulfed into the light until it was no more. A smile on his face. *As he snapped his fingers* Ghost knew what was up. As he looked up the ashes of fire were starting to rain down.
As he looked over to his magical artifact and its broken-down stage. It had rukh and electricity.
Ghost would look on and give a smile as he started to swing his wand and cast a new spell. As the lightning started to form around his body. A smile would come across his face. Speed Of Mercury was now cast. Soon he would zoom away as if he teleported jumping from small land to land as the lava started to cover more and more of it. Ghost was heading to the battlefield and he meant it. It was time to end this battle. It was was show time as he picked up speed.
He would grab his shard and crush it. as the power flew around him all he asked for was the power he needed to end this battle and the invader.

OOC : to start prox post does not say Julius' magoi is cut off. That was stated during a discussion on how Julius evaded the oncoming strike and hit Octavius. Thus Julius has access to his magoi and still has Both speed buffs on.

Hana and Jack were not prevented from leaving the thread and neither has Julius.  the conditions around picking up Yurameshi had changed but had not changed to the outcome of the last post.

Zub did not feed any magoi in her post to her items, I'll let the DM Judge whether that post as valid or not, on the assumption that it is Zub never stated since the activation of Sol which form the item takes only that she wraps it around her. Zub does have a note saying the form is gas but nothing is written in the post about the form. Due to the effect of Sol's function, Zub would be repelling Yurameshi backward as she would attempt to attack him, her attacks that are melee can not reach him because she is pushing him back with the gas.  Her attack to prevent Julius from reaching them was also not bolded so does not happen as per system rules.

Ghost did not meet the requirements for casting his spells. Most important of all his healing spell as he needs to clench his staff to his chest and he does not. Also as per proxy post Ghost is in lava, while the lava is no longer spreading it is around.  Ghost punched the ground that ontop of which again as per proxy post is covered in lava thus Ghost has just plunged his hand into lava. Also  If he is on the mount I am unsure how he punched the ground, make it make sense.

As Yurameshi would be repelled back as per the effects of the gas he reached into his pouch gripping the familiar feel of two things.   Both items were the same thing a smoke bomb known as Ash Field. Yurameshi threw the first one down at his feet putting a 10-meter smoke cloud around him and Zub, thanks to his Enhanced Senses, he could still see fine.  Using his smoke screen Yurameshi used this opening to battle roll to his left   Using both the repelling effect and his smoke to get away from Zuzu.

As per the last post, Juliuus arrived on the scene and his speed spells overtook the effects of the last snow allowing him to still use his Ride the lightning and Zoran's step.  His magoi was still flowing through him and still powering both Ride the Lightning and his A-tier flight from his Dark Djinn form.  When he approached the area of where Zuzu and Yurameshi had been clashing his actions had not changed, he still scooped up Yurameshi, as he did Yurameshi tossed his second Ash Field as Julius used all his speed buffs along with Zoran's step and removed himself and his swordmaster from the battle.

As the shard shattered, its crystalline fragments spun and shimmered, forming a radiant vortex that pulsed with the essence of ancient knowledge. Threads of light intertwined with the user's being, a luminous dance that surged through their veins, mingling with the very essence of their soul. The air seemed to shimmer, carrying with it a charge of palpable energy that danced along the edges of perception. The heavens above bore witness to a cosmic ballet, stars glinting with otherworldly anticipation as if aware that destiny itself was in motion. Something was happening to Ghost, something from deep inside of him.

A surge of power coursed through them, not merely a force to wield, but a connection to a sacred tapestry woven by those who came before. Holy magic, pure and untamed, began to awaken within their core. They glowed very briefly as information poured through their mind, as well as a voice.

"I have heard your prayer, and here I have come. Cleanse this world with your might, so that the force of the holy ones will rise again to protect the innocent. After today, you must begin your pilgrimage to truly master my power. But for right now, behold my power and use it as you see fit!"

She rushed forwards like white-hot lightning, but her aim was diverted by something faster, metal meeting metal with a thunderous crack. An arm burst out of its socket with a spray of red-hot blood, colouring her hair crimson. She stared at her spear, blood coating the ice-cold metal, and flames haunted her mind. Not the fires which still raged around her, but those flames which had once burnt her entire world to the ground.

She wouldn't let it happen again.

Watching her target Julius disappear, and realising that she could not pursue him, Zubaidah would first rush towards the confused Magi with a sustained Midnight Flight, helping him move Octavius towards the pool created by Tanzif Armutar, ‘Jiryu, refocus your efforts towards Octavius. If there is even a fraction of a chance to keep him alive, then do what you must, no matter the cost. If he falls, then Reim falls with him.' As she said those words, flashes of memory came into her mind; not her memories, but someone else’s. ‘Follow my lead.' If these images could be believed, then someone had once used this technique to preserve their loved one’s life, even if only keeping them moments from death, ‘First Snow!' All she needed was to make it possible for him to live again, ‘Fimbulwinter!' But now it was time for everyone else to play their role, ‘Keep him safe, Jiryu.'

DIspelling the Last Snow, and whistling for Sirrush, Zubaidah would then fly towards Sly, keeping at eye-level, ‘I know all about you, as I’m sure you do about me. You are householded with Octavius, are you not? Well, look at Remano now. He loved this city as his own child, didn’t he? But his beloved Remano is in danger. So snap out of that daze and go save it!' Directing him towards the flames covering Remano, Zubaidah would then attempt to seek out any survivors, using her Foolish Wisdom to listen for voices or even breathing.

Up in the sky above the magi Jiryu had been preoccupied, the surge of Rukh that the others had noticed was not from Julius' attempts alone. While the magician was busy fighting the great Fanalis of Reim someone had come to his aid, his benefactor. The contractor was proud of his efforts, and there above in the sky he discussed with the Dragon of Kina. "Kyekyekye you've already meddled enough my dear boy, though it seems the deed is done, I can now make my departure." The contractor said his body was seemingly pristine, not a scratch on him.

Across from him, Jiryu was huffing, puffing what little energy he had left. The extra drain from casting with his hands had caught up, he had launched spell after spell in the sky above the clouds. They couldn't see a thing, they couldn't be seen but he could feel it. His king had fallen, his rukh was fading, Sly was holding onto him with what energy he had left. Scipio had been kept at bay keeping the people in line. This battle was one of great mourning. "I think thou is a fool, this fight is only sparking the fire within those who serve Solomon's might. With all they gave, they only took one man, he was great and he will be mourned but greater beasts, more valiant heroes shall rise. Today, the fanalis will mourn their father, a man who fought for their peace and safety. Tomorrow, they start hunting for bones."

"Oh the fun has only just started, I hope they start biting, I have a gift for my fair friend. He upheld his deal, well not really but I like the way he did it so. I hope your little pets can deal with what he'll be offering next time around kyekyeyekeyeye"" Connie would laugh, flittering away in the wind before Jiryu could give chase.

In the burning ruins, the fanalis corps wept for their leader as the beast that was his Lieutenant carried his corpse through fire and smoke. As the ash sizzled his watered skin the magic of Sabnock began to wash away in the rain. With the bond of his king cemented in its end the power faded but the vessel remained. He had to find a new king, a new spear for the fanalis that could surpass even Octavius. He loved his children, he would desire nothing more than for them to prosper.

Weeks later.....

Some time would pass, the city would begin to rebuild under the orders of the council. It's faces had lived, but they lost the head of the fanalis, the face of the city in times of oppression. It was a dark few weeks for Reim, even with most of the administration intact their base was destroyed and most of those who ran their day-to-day operations had perished in what was now known as the The Black Morning. But, in the dark, now matter how long it took even in places where the night lasted months eventually the sun would come to rise.

Scipio, stood before his people, before the Ruins of the palace as construction magic tools, mages, and engineers would rebuild what took lifetimes in mere weeks. In less than 3 months it would restored, and so would most of the city. "Good people of Reim, as we all know by now our great city has suffered a tragedy. One that echoes throughout the nation, rivers form from tears and thunders roar from our wails. We mourn, and we shall mourn for as long as we need. But, we are not weak, we did not earn our freedom and glory back just to allow people to spit in our faces. We know our perpetrators, we know where they rest where they fight, and who worships them. Reim has not been conquerors for some time, we have rested on our laurels for peace, for prosperity. Yet they poke a sleeping lion, one content and belittled. Well I say no more, I say Reim goes to war!"
