It had been a few days since the construction of the base for the castle was completed and the majority of the Hidden Flames had left. It was now just Gilles, her inner circle, her children and a small handful of her precious hidden flame members. They were all relaxing after a few weeks of hard, back breaking work. It would most likely take them a couple of months at least to complete the rest of the work on the construction of their castle city, their fort town.

Gilles and her inner circle had gathered together and devised up this plan for making a castle solely for the purpose to support the Helio branch of the Sacred Order of the Flames Reach. The Helio branch was the one group that was not already supplied with their own base of operations as well as a place to live and thrive. The magno branch had a whole city that they were spread out in and the Kou branch was spread out through three villages that have since drawn together into a small and cohesive town. The helio branch were more loose and scattered, used to living in small groups rather then as a singular entity. So now that they all flew under the banner of the lord of the sacred flames they now were in need of a place that they could truly call their own. The helio branches is to be a small city or town that resides inside of a large fortress like castle that will in theory serve as enough space for a good majority if not all of them at one time.

So far all that they have been able to do is survey that land for a suitable construction site which took a couple of weeks in itself. Next was getting the base done so that the fortress would hopefully have a sturdy foundation that would support the massive structure. This took a few weeks as well, closer to a month to complete. The next step for gilles and her followers would be to construct the castle itself which would most likely take several months to a year to complete. They would have to worry about getting supplies to their location but they would be more than capable to afford said supplies with the wealth of the merchant companies as well as the wealth that the Sacred Order has gained themselves. However, dark clouds were looming above our trepid cult leader.

Unbeknownst to gilles or the cultists who surveyed this oasis, it was technically the birthright of some former Heliohapt Nobles that were now down in their luck due to the fallout from the collapse of their capital. They were now trying to gather up whatever land and residences that they have left before they are claimed by the rabble that are now taking advantage of this situation. This oasis just so happened to be one of these pieces of land that the nobles owned so to the surprise of none they were quite perturbed by this scene that was now accosting their noble eyes.

Before them stood a massive chunk of flatten stone and cement that was made by the trespassers of their land. While they wanted to make a similar sort of construction in order to secure the oasis for themselves and their cash revenue but it seems they were beaten to it. Yet they were not just about to sit back and let these rabble get away with such heresy against the true lords and ladies of these lands.

They would not rush in blindly however, they were not your run of the mill bandits that would just attack at the first site of glinting gold that they see. No, they were leaders of men and generals of armies, they were going to be meticulous and cunning about such an assault.

They were numbered close to 50 or so but about half of that was guards, with the rest being family members or part of their servants and staff. Even though it did not look like there were too many of the rabble here they could not afford to lose too many of their fighters nor could they trust that other rabble would not show up during or immediately after their combat.

A couple of the guards would go ahead and scout out the group that was now their enemy of the week. They were better adapted to this terrain and how to hide in it despite being guards to fancy nobles. They were also lucky that currently none of the members of the SOFR were from the helio branch as they currently did not have any in the inner circle as of this moment since the inner circle was being rebuilt once again. When they would return after a couple of hours doing recon they would report to the nobles what they had seen with their guard eyes. They had spotted probably close to a dozen or less foreigners wearing garbs of Helio but clearly not of this land, specifically the pale woman with white hair who had to bundle up almost completely or she would be burnt to a crisp in what would probably turn out to be in a literal manner. Also to note were what appear to be two statues of what resemble creatures made of fire made out of a strange blue and red material, probably lapis or sapphire with ruby but that much to make statues would mean that they were both worth a good fortune each. This last bit of new would make the nobles squirm in delight as they could not believe their luck, this could be enough to start their own city state if they are lucky.

They would decide that it was best to wait until it was during the middle of the night to strike when the usual bystander would be huddled up in a tent to stay warm during the freezing nights of the desert. Ten of the guards would end up being who goes to scare off these rabble. While the nobles could care less the guards would prefer not to put their health at risk by starting a fight if they can just run of the violators of this oasis. They thought that ten members would be enough to intimidate them but just enough to handle all of these people who were most likely to be nothing more than bandits or citizens of helio trying to start a new town on their noblemen’s lands. Either way, this should be more than enough brute force.

The would begin to close in on the campsite when they see two bright fires blazing in the night and surprised when they saw that there were no one tending to the fires. They were flabbergasted even more so when the campfires starts to descend on the would be attackers. What the had sorely mistaken to be burning would turned out to be what they originally believed to be the statues the saw the day prior, some how come to life. These turned out to be the first and second child of Gilles, Loew Bezalel and Hemet, creations of the dark djinn Bertilak who was a gift from the lord of flames and not some puppet master known as the Contractor. The guards would surround the two performing their signature formation known as the Sun’s enclosure. This would be halted from the two siblings who would use varying abilities to defend themselves. Loew using his Breath of life on one half while Hemet used his variation as well. The short and rotund Hemet would throw a rising sun, crushing one of the guards with a massive fist of ice while the tall and spindly Loew used his crescent slice to cut down 5 of them in a single blow. Hemet would make a crackling of flames that would sound almost like annoyance in being one upped and would suddenly split creating a twin of flame that was smaller than him. They both would attack separate guards who blocked their attacks with great ease which would cause a loud cackling of flames that sounded almost like laughter from the tall brother who was now doubled over convulsing from pure merriment of his brother’s ultimate failure. Looking at the other child Hemet in  a fit of anger would use his breath of life again burning the rest of the guards to a crisp but also his twin. Loew was caught in the attack as well but would use his own breath to counter it and save himself from being hurt by the tantrum of the younger sibling.

They would begin to fight until they heard a noise coming from mother’s tent as she stored a bit. They would come to a cease fire as they were afraid to wake mother up and would instead go and pile the fresh corpses up to make a fire hoping that mother would take pride in what they have done for her and the sheep that followed suit.
