the ship groans as the sails turn. sailors shout amidst each other. she sits upon a crate, leaning against the rail. the smoldering sun beating down on her back. her head tilted upon her crossed arms. a wistful sigh. it had been too long she was on this ship. her feet longed to touch the sands on the distant shores. even a quick glance at pluto told her he was aching to run.
heliohapt. a country foreign to her yet so similar to her own. there were rumors of a certain darkness looming in the undergrounds of the city. she was intrigued at the very least. so long as it meant good coin. morality had lost much of it's meaning after the war. good and bad. both were concepts she no longer knew.
when they hit the ports was when she could truly take in the landscape. dunes as far as the eye can see. strange markets lined along the boardwalk. as she makes her way off the ship, a familiar face brings the smallest of smiles to her lips. it was hard to miss such a man. a royal visage with amaranthine gems that contrast against sun kissed skin.
her essence was storming with anticipation yet her movements remained tranquil. she approaches him. her hand reaches to push her hair behind her ear. when she gets close enough, she stops. "jahan." her voice like the soft hum made from crystal glass. "it's been too long." she cups his face in her hand. a different warmth radiates rosy hues over her skin.

He stood before the sun as fate casted it light down on him. The vast structure of Heliohapt faded into the sun died sands behind him and oddly enough there was a sense of peace in a land that had fallen to a madman's curse. He was Jahan, the self proclaimed king. The undefeated one, and he had pondered over the road he had taken to this point, the people he had lost and if the journey was worth it.
He couldn't find home in Reim when he returned, and so he wandered here. Something about here was different, there was a sense of belonging he didn't understand. None the less, he was lonely. The wind cascaded and Jahan caught the mast of an approaching ship finally docking at the port. He watched in silence, something in his spirit told him to. His heart skipped a beat when a familiar women stepped off the ship. She was as pristine as diamonds, ivory as porcelain as perfect as his eye could behold.
"Diana-", Jahan barely uttered her name as she came rushing to him. He could only accept her arms as she embraced him. He looked her in the eyes and she swayed his heart, he kissed her forehead and he understood he would not be alone anymore. He grinned in the way only Jahan could and he asked her simply, "Where have you been beautiful".

her time and memories in kou felt so scattered. from being separated from rima to the war she never had any place in- it felt like a blur. it made her nights restless, her days much too long. to drown it with drink was only temporary. yet his presence gave her a form of peace. as if she knew such horrors would never return in the world he would build.
her thumb runs across his cheek, eyes reflecting a sullen look. "too far from you," she murmurs, pulling her hand away. diana slips her fingers through his and starts to walk. side by side, their shoulders touch as she speaks. "i managed to finally get out of kou with phobos. in all the aftermath, it was rather easy. i suspect it will be that way for a while." yet yoshiro was a formidable warrior. to defeat his father not once but twice in combat. it would prove a challenge.
she takes a short breath, kicking a bit of dirt up with her heel. "how have you been? i can't imagine you've been too idle. there was a dungeon that appeared. i heard it was claimed. did you participate?" she had her regrets for not going. it would have been helpful for them if she conquered it. though, it wasn't in her particular interest to do so.

Jahan just loved how naturally she could slip into his life as his woman. Just her words seduced him and that was rare but not with her ;as a matter of fact he would let her lead their stride. He couldn't help it he just loved how she moved . He couldn't hide a smile and he was happy until Diana would bring up the dungeon then his face wrinkled in disgust.
"Yes I entered one to help a friend. Would you believe I was quicked out? I could never claim the djinn and honestly I'm glad." His frustrations with the place were obvious.
"Oh I did get a new fighting cape" Jahan flexed the fabric on his arm. "Honestly Diana. I'm not sure why I came here, I just have a feeling.. That I haven't in a long time, like I must be here. So I know something amazing, might just happen soon."
Jahan spoke as bold and confident as he always did. He was sure of his words in a way that was impressive on its own. As they walked Jahan thought of the city and it's market and all of the wonderful foreign things he might buy for Diana. He really did love the girl and to her he would give the world. He gave her hand a small squeeze subconsciously, "That's my girl" he thought. The city and a view of people started to be visible across the horizon. Jahan paid the people little mind while they were in the distance more focused on Diana anyway.

her brows raise slightly. "i see," she chimed. it was surprising to hear. she didn't know much about the djinn but there must have been a reason. they could only hope to conquer the next one.
rose colored orbs flit to the cape donned on his shoulders. she could almost commend him for wearing such a thing in this heat. half way on the trip here she had to rid herself of her furs. though it didn't seem to bother him.
"well, we'll have to find out what that is, won't we?" a light chuckle graced her smile. "in fact, i heard rumors on my way here. they were talking about how the capital is worse for wear. i'm not sure what it means but it might be what drew you here." however, she did not come all this way to just discuss business. a terrible habit she had from her line of work.
as the city came into view, she would come to a stop. her eyes narrowed as the wind carried a thick stench of something unfamiliar. once a smile turned to a small frown. it wasn't natural. "though i fear we have our answer." even the crowds seemed to avoid the path. "it's just a feeling but we should keep from the city for now." but where would they go?

Jahan shook his head, his smell wasn't as great as hers but he was very familiar with the smell of death. Even more so with a feeling that is sinister. "We shouldn't be there... Not quite yet."
Jahan stopped. This would prove a challenge. He was travelling alone at first he didn't expect to see Diana, Pluto or Phobos. Without being able to use the market to secure supplies his family could easily perish. They wouldn't last a day without water.
"Alright Diana." Jahan took off his shirt exposing his strong bare chest under golden chains. He kept his Billie Jean Glove and Cape. " I'm going to investigate. Stay near the South End of the city."
He actually did believe im Diana holding her own but he refused to test his luck with her safety. Especially if he would go against her wishes. He did have the Aurangzeb though and so he knew he would be successful. There was just a matter of time. Plus he desperately wanted to understand what's going on now.

there were so many questions running through her mind. though she knew all would be answered in due time. whatever was affecting the city was unnatural. she could feel it in her bones. a subtle aura of despair and uncertain darkness. it was familiar to what she felt around rima yet much more intense.
"you're going to investigate?" she crooked a brow. to venture into uncharted territory was foolish at best. neither of them had any idea of what lurked in those corners. none the less, she held her tongue. "fine. i'll stay nearby as you asked and try to get some information." at least if one of them failed, they would not come up empty handed.
she brings his hand up to plant a soft kiss upon his knuckles. her eyelashes flit against her cheeks as she looked down. "please, be careful." with one last gaze up into his eyes, diana releases his hand. "do return by nightfall. i didn't travel all this way to just work."

Jahan cocked his head at the change of her expression. He could tell Diana was holding her tongue. He understood how dangerous it had bound to be but none the less he had the advantage of Aurangzeb, strength that few others could brag of and of course his Metal Vessel. He smiled and kissed Diana's temple.
"Just wait, I'll be back. I need to know what's going on." Jahan reassured his lady of his safety and he started moving off towards the city. He turned back only to grin and joke at Diana one last time. "I wouldn't dare to be late. "
Jahan made it past the blistering orange sands into the destitute town. It was a bit far off from any other major cities but it was a port nonetheless and the usual business of the place had almost dissapeared. Jahan kept quiet, the nerves of the World King were on edge. He could smell the rot of death even from here.
"Go!Go Go Go!", Jahan turned his whole body in the direction of screams coming from around a corner. He paced over to the place where the sounds came from. It was definitely a corner of the market, as Jahan grew closer a small girl ran past the corner straight into him. She fell backwards as she slammed against the World King. He looked at her, tears still fresh in her eyes with fear painted across her face.
"Oooowa-" she made a noise that almost made Jahan chuckle. He picked the girl up and as he placed her back on his feet the first of his enemies finally came before him. It was disgusting enough to make Jahangir scowl.
"You know what lil girl? I completely understand why your so afraid." The child took a hold of Jahangir's right leg, and he placed a hand on her head. She was a tiny tanned girl with a bob of indigo hair and golden eyes. Her attacker, a man who was no longer a man. Instead standing just a few meters away from the two was a 7 foot humanoid, the head of an elk rotted and misshapen instead of anything vaguely human.
"Hey ugly, what are you picking on my little sister for?" Jahan joked. Jahan grinned and looked back at the girl, "you want me to beat him up?"
Jahan would return to the place he left Diana, this time with the young girl atop his shoulders. Blood speckled some of his garments but otherwise he was fine. As for the enemy.. He had been left decimated within the market square. Fist sized holes gaping throughout his body.
"Diana!" Jahangir called. "I have some incredible news"

she gave him a short wave as she watched him go. a part of her still worried for him. it seemed despite her wishes, work was inevitable.
diana makes her way down the docks and into the small village that resided there. even with life within its streets, the atmosphere seemed so glum. the civilians all looked so dreadful. she hadn’t expected to see this outside of kou. there hadn’t been a war here.
the unfamiliar roads lead her to a small, old tavern. she enters, met with the stench of watered down mead. dust floats through the beams of sunlight peering through the windows. looking around, the patrons were spread thin. the only oddity was a woman with two children huddled up at a corner table. curiously, she approaches them.
“may i?” she asks, gesturing to the seat beside her.
the woman looks at her with weary eyes. she closes them and gives a slight nod. silent and fearful, the children hide behind her.
“is it alright if i ask you a few questions?” ~~~
diana raised her brow, still running the cloth down her blade.
“oh? did you steal a child?” she teases. wherever he found her, she had to have a home somewhere. lest she was an orphan. then they had to find her one. she lets out a breath, nearly sighing. how troublesome.

Jahan flashed a smile at his woman, "No I bought this baby cash."Just as soon his grin fell from his mouth. "She says her father turned into a monster and tried to eat her." Jahan gripped the girls shoulder. She had to have been about 11, she was dressed in a simple white dress with red clay checkered details on the bottom. Her black hair is cut in a bob and her eyes were a suspicious pitch of purple.
"Can we keep her? I want to escort her to family. From what I've just seen, there are enemies everywhere. Something has happened. The people of this land have been transformed into Dungeon Beasts."
Jahan was not in a rush he figured he could clear most of Heliohapt in a day flying. He could make a pit stop but he also had opportunity on his mind. This little girl could be his guide even if just for a bit. Maybe they would find someone with even more of an understanding.
"What do you think?"

diana gives the child a look-over. poor thing. she sheathes her sword and tosses the cloth to the side. "i suppose the rumors are true," she mutters under her breath. the so-called dungeon beasts that plagued this outskirts of this land were just as great of a threat as she thought. they would have to prepare for the worst. so much for a break.
she sighs then moves over to the girl, kneeling down to her height. diana brushes the hair out of her face. her eyes relfecting a kindness in them. "she's not a pet, jahan," she chuckles. "we can't just keep her against her will. but it is smart for her to accompany us until she is safe." she runs her thumb over the child's face before getting back up on her feet.
her gaze shifts back to jahan and she tilts her head slightly. "do you know where her family is?"

Jahan shook his head "No clue yet", he shrugged and put a hand on the little girls shoulder. "Little lady."
"Ashira" the girl interrupted Jahan. "Ashira" he repeated with a kind tone. "Can you help us find your people?" She looked back at Jahan with eyes blazing. They were like orbs of ornate purple fire. "Of course!"
Jahan picked the girl up tossing and catching her like a toddler, "That's what I like to hear Ashira!", She screamed as Jaja tossed her quite high and as he catches her she wraps herself around him like a cat trying to rescue itself.
Jahan placed her back as soon as he finished his little game still grinning, Ashira on the other hand was flustered. Jahan's attention was back on his lady, he had been so excited with the mess that was Heliohapt he hasn't thought of her feelings.
"We can set up a camp and head out later tomorrow. I want spend the night with you Diana."

her eyes softened as she watched them. for a girl who had lost her father, ashira seemed to be rather lively. it wasn't easy to lose someone so close. she felt for ashira, having been in a similar position so many years ago.
jahan seemed to be good with children. she smiles. at least he could bring the child some joy in her grief.
"we should," she says, pushing her hair behind her ears. "pluto could keep her company. i wouldn't want to leave her alone." besides, it wasn't like they would be out for long. even so, pluto was capable enough.
