Settling affairs with the Koval estate had taken Zion quite a bit of time. The young magician had almost forgotten his status as a student in the academy, but when he remembered what Noir had mentioned about a special library Zion just had to make time to check it out. Flying to the city by carpet, Zion would fly right through the gate past a familiar trio of burly guards. They all looked more friendly then before, especially upon seeing the 2nd Kodor medal hanging proudly from Zion's neck. Once inside the city the snow haired doll flew straight towards the academy eagerly anticipating the so called, Merlin's Library.

Entering through the grand doors, Zion's jaw dropped and his eyes sparkled in amazement. The magician's gaze feasted on the vast multi-level library that had countless rows of neatly organized books. Unbeknownst to Zion a pair of rukh fluttered around together playfully in one corner of the library minding their own business. As the doll began to approach a section designated for books on strength magic. Zion was about to reach out and grab a book that had caught his interest when suddenly the pair of rukh danced across his vision circling his hand once before leading off towards another section deeper inside the library.

Curiosity filled every step as a bright smile gleamed on the dolls face as he followed the golden rukh. The anticipation slowly built as Zion realized they were taking him quite a distance. Eventually they fluttered into a bookshelf located in a section for magic types outside the basic eight. Looking at the display label Zion read the words aloud to himself in subtle interest, "Clairvoyance Magich, eh?..." Rubbing his chin lightly Zion approached the book shelf and looked at the book he small birds of light had disappeared into. "Clairvoyance & Light - Beginner's Introduction" There was no doubt that this was the book in question as the library had several copies lined up next to each other. As for the specific copy, only one looked worn and used.

There was no real though to Zion's actions as he reached out, his hand was just naturally drawn to the older book. After finding a place to sit and read, Zion made himself comfortable and opened up the book to its introductory pages. The author of the book was a name Zion recognized from some of the books in Noir's room, Karnel Klien. Some of the fundamental light magic spells Zion used were inspired by his work. Knowing that this was Karnel's work made Zion smile faintly in amusement.

In order to perform clairvoyance magic there are several requirements one must meet. One is to have a strong connection with one of the eight magic types. It's best to practice it using ones primary or secondary type when starting out. Secondly is to have some sort of material or medium for the rukh to interact with. This could be created magically or use things from the environment.

Here is a list of a few things suitable for each magic type:

Fire - Set of candles or a large open flame
Water - Water in the air
Wind - Dust or powder that can be carried on the wind
Lightning - The nervous system of the caster or target
Light - Any light source will do, but sunlight is best
Sound - An object that has been present to receive the sound waves of the desired conversation
Life and Strength - I never mastered those magic types so figure it out yourself.

The third and final requirement is to have a question that is within the rukh's capability to answer with the resources at hand. It can show you what is happening at a distance in real time as long as you can send your magoi there. Through objects you can very past events in a limited manner but the best material is flesh. Blood, hair, even snot will do. With a sample from a life form you can use the rukh to veiw directly into their past experiences, or to locate them from anywhere in the world. As an information gathering tool it is unparalleled, but more convenient uses are determining the weather or or which cards to bet on. Just be sure not to get caught casting a spell and don't win too much.

Zion could read no more when the shill for another book capstoned one of Konnel's strange writing habits. The old man was clearly prone to tangents which varied from insightful to time wasting. Before going any further, Zion read over the beginning once more and found himself surprised at how haphazardly the author wrote the book. The penstrokes were rushed and sloppy while there was an uncomfortable bluntness about using clairvoyance magic for unsavory deed. The hints were subtle, but there appeared to be some of Konnel Klien's vices showing through his work.  Shaking thoughts of vengeance and mischief aside, the young magician focused on the requirement for light magic since strength was unknown.

From where Zion was seated, he couldn't find any windows that let the sun in so the doll stood and brought the book with him as he headed back towards the entrance area where several large windows allowed light to pour down into a large reading area. There were a handful of other magicians scattered about at different tables. Zion found an empty table of his own that was half lit be the ambient lighting and half lit up by the edge of the large sun ray the glass cast off. Zion comfortably enjoyed the coolness of the side that wasn't baking in the sun more and took his seat where he could casually reach out to touch the light beam. Satisfied with his new arrangement Zion turned his attention back to the book and skimmed through the old man's tangents. He found that the rukh would tell him the spell words to use based on the intentions communicated to them. There was no special method to train clairvoyance magic, you simply needed the trust and co-operation of the rukh and the right conditions. "If you are good at clairvoyance magic you are good, if you aren't? Too bad." As Mr. Klien put it.

[This thread is on hold until Zion reaches B-tier and is capable of learning Clairvoyance]
