Personality: Rarda is an adventurous young woman, and almost always looking on the bright side of things, even the most dire of times. She is outgoing and friendly, and perhaps a bit hyper at best, and at worst, she can be annoyingly chipper and curious. When she is stressed, she tries to remain calm with deep breaths, but if she is pushed too far, she may either break down and cry, or become angry and lash out in ways she normally wouldn't, both verbally and physically.
When speaking with nobles, she is surprisingly well mannered and proper, much more so than one would ever expect from a commoner. Everything from proper eye contact, body language, titles and tone, if it were not for the cheap, often strange clothing she frequents, she would be mistaken for a noble herself. This changes as soon as the person is gone, and she bounces back into a bubbly mood of quick curious questions, odd statements, or bad puns.
When in conversation, she will often have very bad puns in them, and she always laughs at them while others often cringe or find it distasteful. She doesn't mind, and continues anyway, unless it is truly disturbing to someone, then she will stop, though will wish to continue at some point, possibly away from the person.
Likes:Puns - She finds puns to be very entertaining, and loves the double meanings and similar sounding words. Rather than being a mistake to be held against one, it is a form of humor, and she enjoys this difference.
Freedom - Waking up when she wants, going where she wants, doing what she wants, working for and with who she wants, spending her well earned coin the way she wants... These are just a few examples of what she enjoys about freedom.
sewing - A simple, yet important art, especially if one wishes to make pretty clothing, and she does love to wear her creations, though she will often make and repair items for others for a few coins to get by. Its one of the few things that calms her down and that she can focus on.
Dislikes:Serious/Angry people - They are simply no fun, and often cause a lot of damage to others, whether its property or their physical well being, and she dislikes this very much.
Being controlled - It simply takes away her freedom, and she hates being forced to do things, especially if she had no intention of doing it, or it made her do things to friends she did not with to do.
Onions - The very texture makes her skin crawl, and the taste makes her want to throw up. Its just not one of the things she can stomach, literally.
Aspirations:Rarda wishes for few things in life, save for to have coin enough to live and eat, and to remain free from responsibility that she does not decide to take on herself. She does have some secret wild dreams, like being able to fly. She knows she cant fly like birds can, but she often thinks about buying enough material and wood, and building large wings, or balloons, and using those to catch the wind and fly.
Outside of this, she does have some wild dreams of living in a palace, lounging on pillows, eating sweet fruit and pastries all day, and wearing elegant silks and linens. She does not always believe she will achieve this, but when she has made a good amount of money, her dreams of luxury take flight!
Phobias/fears:What she fears, oddly enough, is other people, usually more so at night than in day time. Having grown up in a noble household, she is not used to, even after several years away, of speaking with others, or even meeting people in the dark of night. It makes her really nervous, and she begins talking a lot, mostly babbling about anything that can spill out of her mouth. Why is she so afraid? Kidnapping, ransom, and slavery. She was taught from a young age that people come in the night to steal nobles and hold them ransom at night time, and it has paranoid her ever since. If she ever were to be kidnapped, she would flail about screaming and crying, usually forgetting how to fight, until someone comes to save her, then conveniently remembering how to help her rescuer to save her, if it is needed.

Appearance: Perhaps a bit shorter than most, she is still just as noticeable, and often mistaken for a Fanalis due to her bright red hair. She does not mind, though it quickly becomes apparent she is not, due to her lack of temper and physical strength. Thin, flexible, and fast, even in her mid twenties she has little bust to boast about, which tends to be a tender topic that she avoids, and obviously changes the subject if it comes up. Her skin is fairly tanned, from her time in the sun, and tan lines are fairly obvious on her skin when one gets to see more of it.
Her eyes shine with a great happiness and curiosity that one would find in children. Her hands are smooth, save for her thumbs and for and middle fingers. The ends of them are rougher, and covered in scars from needles poking into them.
Her clothes are often of varying materials and colors, sewing them herself, and often looking strange and mismatched. Her nails are rarely painted, and make up almost never worn, though when it is, it is either perfectly beautiful, or perfectly outrageous.

History:Magnostadt, the City of Magic, was always a busy, amazing place, full of busy, amazing people. It is here that was born into a respected noble family, a youth who had no potential for magic, though it would be many years before anyone knew this fact. The Yana Family, some 20 years ago, bore a child they named Rarda, the 7th of her name.
Many of her ancestors held this name before her, the first being a Fanalis, though the Family kept that secret. The Fanalis had taken that name when they married into the family, changing it from whatever name they used to hold, to preserve the families reputation, even so far as to dye their hair. It had been hidden for many generations, though Rarda Yana the 7th was the first in a very long line to have the Fanalis red hair. This alone was cause for rumors among the other families and servants alike.
Already a disappointment, her parents sought to change this, and began her lessons as soon as she could walk and talk. She was taught history, many different dances from noble life around the world, lessons of magic, table manners, how to walk properly, how to talk properly, how to instruct servants to dress and undress you, the list goes on and on.
She had very little time to do what she preferred, and when she had a moment to spare, she was at a lose as what to do. She would often find herself fingering at the frills and embroidery of her dresses and gowns, sometimes damaging it. This would cause such a fuss with her mother, she would have someone usher her away and fix it. Sometimes she did this on purpose, just to watch the servant work. It was intriguing to see how just a few well placed threads could make something hideous or exquisite.
She was also briefly taught some very basic swordplay, but that never stuck, and her parents did not expect it to. They were convinced she would be a magnificent mage, and help raise their family ever higher among the noble families of the city.
When it came time for her entrance test into the academy, she did her best, and failed horribly. She could not preform the simplest of spells. There was not so much as a spark, a sound, a flutter, nothing. She did everything in her ability to cast a spell, and most others had proven capable of even lighting paper on fire, or the equivalent, but she could not even do this.
She returned home in shame, dismissed from the academy before she was even a part of it. It devastated her parents, and her magic lessons ceased. She continued her other lessons, each extending to take up the time lost from the magic lesson.
Several weeks later, her parents announced they had another child on the way, and instead of being excited, Rarda was hurt. They were replacing her because she could not do what they wanted. It wasn't that she didn't try, it was that she was unable to do it at all. They knew this, and instead of being ok with it, they decided to replace her.
She lived with these ideas for many months, but could not bare the shame ridden looks upon their faces, or the quiet whisperings of the servants. So, during one of her parents dinner parties with other families, she announced to her parents, and many others all at once, that she was leaving. Few believed her, laughed even, and her parents told her to take a seat, and tried to ignore her, but she remained standing, and stated it again, causing the hall to go from mild amused laughter, to cold dead silence.
She did not explain herself, simply stating she was taking her leave of the table, and would not see any of them ever again. She then proceeded to call them all pompous bloated hagfishes, before her father ordered servants to drag her to her room.
She was locked inside to wait for her father to have a stern talking to after dinner, but she didn't wait that long. She had begun packing a bag with clothes and other things, and decided to start an adventure the proper way : climbing out of a window.
She left it open when she did leave, though she had second thoughts about it once upon the ledge. She pressed on anyway, humming to herself, and forcing herself not to look down. She miraculously made it safely to the gate of the family manors yard, and climbed it down.
It was an odd sight to see for the citizens watching her, and she greeted them politely before rushing off with her valuables. She entered many shops, asking to trade some of her things for a few coins, and a few turned her away, while others ripped her off. By the end of the night, she was traveling with a caravan, paying way too much for passage, and a bag of coins, needles and thread, and not a thing from her noble life left. No jewelry, no clothing, not even the bag she left with.
She had traded it all away, for a new life, and an adventure. Her family would be happy to have her gone, she believed, so it was best for them both. She would spend the next few years learning the trade of sewing, pricking and stabbing her fingers many times over, and learning how to handle money better, but most of all, learning what it means to be free.
She had little idea what to do with her time in the beginning, speaking with the caravaneers about the world, and learning different things, such as how to relax, what puns are, how to swap stories, and even how to drink! Such a lightweight she is, but she always enjoys it anyways.
It wasn't until she had visited Balbadd her second time, did she truly learn to fight, and with her professions tools no less. She had a client as her to repair a garment for a decent amount of pay, and she agreed, hoping to have a few nights of good eating and drinking. Her work was well enough that it pleased her client, and they offered more than gold in payment.
The person was a slave trader, and tried to capture her in the middle of following night, but was stopped by a woman who also used needles, threatening the individuals life, and his balls, if he did not release her. He agreed, of course, and ran off into the night. Rarda thanked the person, and they tried to leave, but Rarda stopped them, begging to be taught how to fight like them, babbling about how she didn't want to rely on luck keeping her safe, and how she only knew how to stitch and sew things, as well as many other things.
Why they agreed, Rarda doesn't know, but those who know think it was to shut her up at first, but Rarda proved to be a reliable and great student, and left one of many caravans she had been a part of to learn the skills she wanted so badly. She learned the forms, the techniques and skills required for both close and longer ranged fighting with her needles, as well as a few poisons, and even the basics of moving in the shadows, though she still talked too much to make this usable.
Her teacher left after some time, leaving her to continue her training on her own, and to develop her own techniques and poisons. She would secretly practice these when alone, usually at night before bed, if she wasn't drinking.
Role-Play Sample:The sun was up high in the sky, and Rarda snoozed away in one of the community fountains, her head floating above the water, an empty jug of wine sunk to the bottom of the shallow fountain, her clothes a mess, and partially stained, though a night in the fountain had made the stains very light.
the streets of Balbadd were busy, as usual, but unlike usual, many avoided the fountain, except a couple of guards, who were trying to fish her out of the fountain. Her sleep was eventually interrupted when a citizen threw a coin at her, and it pegged her in the face. She snapped awake, and flailed a bit, thinking she was drowning, splashing all the more, causing some people to panic, and others to bust out laughing at the girl. The guards grabbed her eventually, and dragged her up, and once she caught her breath she grabbed on tight to the arm of the guard, lifting herself off the ground, clinging to his arm.
"Thank you! Thank you!" She cried, not realizing everyone was laughing at her. "I was sure I was going to drown! You really are heroes! Now please get me away from the- Fountain...." It was at the end, she realized where she was, and how ridiculous she looked. She let herself down, and dusted off her soaking wet clothes, and smiled, before running away, leaving a very wet trail for all to see.
Stopping in a side street, still wet but not soaking anymore, she began to wring out her clothes bit by bit, and eventually started on her hair as well. She had a long night, forgotten by drink, but she remembered she had fun, and ate well. She just hoped she had money at home left for materials and more food.
When she was done, she was still wet, but she was not dripping nearly as much. She was also forced to leave by an angry woman who yelled at her for dripping water on her doorstep.
Rarda eventually made it back to her little rented space where all of her supplies were, and locked the door behind her, stripping, drying, and searching for a new set of clothes to wear. Before she was dressed, she had a pounding at the door, so she rushed to pull something on, and after checking she wasn't showing anything she didn't want to, she opened the door, and her day of work and bartering prices began again.
