The sun was already halfway through setting when Cyrus found himself bored. he had been in Reim for almost two weeks and he realized that he had done literally nothing to prepared for the journey ahead in only a few months time. to accompany his brother to Magnostadt and find his mother and sister on the plains near there. He could hear Mithras practice his sound magic at the back of their estate. He figured he should get into training wielding his scythe a bit more. He was out of practice for the most part. He got up and walked outside in the fall air he practiced swinging his scythe, rehearsing his hooks, jabs and parries. when the air was cooler and the moon was on the rise, he began practicing dodging by going through the trees, passing around them with speed and agility. The Moon was already up in the air when he decided to call it quits for the night. he resolved to get up at dawn to practice again.

It wasn't exactly dawn when Cyrus woke up the next morning, it was somewhere between 5 and 7 hours after when Cyrus made his way outside in order to continue his training. He was getting better at attacking with his scythe learning how to hook and piece at the expense of the olive and lemon trees on the estate. his dodging was more graceful and fluid and he began to be able to join these motions into more fluid actions. he figured he was getting better at this so perhaps after another week he would challenge his brother, although he was a magician and his constitution was not as strong as his own he had great skill with his twin daggers. It was a perfect test to see if he was up to snuff, if he couldn't beat his brother he knew he would have to train more. He decided to go eat before falling asleep for the night, he could hear Mithras trying a new type of sound magic with less than pleasurable results. Despite this, Cyrus managed to go sleep.

A whole week went by Cyrus was sure that he could at least try to beat his brother, Mithras in a sparring match, before he left to go to Magnostadt. Even through he was a little nervous, he summoned up the courage to challenge his older brother. his resolve was heightened by his desire to capture a dungeon. Finally he was ready. Mithras got his daggers, hardly touched since he discovered magic, they both took their stances and the battle began. Mithras struck his brother with a two stabbing motions that Cyrus was able to block with ease. He dodged the magician racing towards him like a dancer doing a pirouette he came around and tried to hook him but he was two slow Mithras ducked below the swing and managed to kick the scythe away despite his mage's constitution, he way fairly lithe and dexterous. Cyrus wasn't done all that training was not going to go to waste. he flipped the scythe round so the point was facing him, and he managed to knock his brother back before pouncing onto him ending the match. Breathing heavily he helped his brother up. "You know for a mage who hasn't trained in martial arts in years you're pretty good still" Cyrus panted

"You've gotten better since we last duelled I've been practicing too you know."

"It shows, good job."

Cyrus didn't know if he was ready to take on a dungeon if he found one, but a least he knew that he could take care of his brother and that he would be able to take care of himself when he left to travel to places unknown.
