“Oii!! Quick, you guys have to patch the wounds!” sound of numerous people steps could be head in the early morning when it was supposed to be a calm and refreshing morning. Another people’s voice yelling could be heard as well as another cries sound came, “It’s all because of that bear!”

Bear…? The black haired girl slowly opened her eyes, slightly annoyed by the shining ray that pierced to her eyes while she grunted softly an rubbed her eyes with one hand. She could feel Nero was still in her grip, she didn’t let go of her wand at all yesterday night. Last night was another usual night for Noir, she couldn’t let her guard down and didn’t fully asleep as she needed to get ready for any danger that might show up. For how long she had been sleeping like that, she wondered. Maybe it had been 5 years after she realized that she would never escaped her fate and almost cursed her own fate, but in the end she managed to keep her sanity even though it cost her, her own expression as she just shut it down.

She stripped herself after stood up from the bed; she walked to the bathroom and took a cold shower to refresh herself up while wondering what was up with the civilians before, making a loud ruckus and even mentioned a bear. Sigh escaped her lips as the cold sensation dripping to her skin, bringing her body’s senses back again. She wondered again about her forgotten past, what it could be like before she was not a slave and how her family acted around her. But no, that was the past that couldn’t be obtained anymore since there was no point in remembering it, they still felt like a stranger. Noir walked out from the bathroom and sat on the bed, helping herself to wear her cloth and also rumbling through her belongings that were placed into a small leather bag. She took out a small picture of her family portrait, feeling the resemblance with the woman and the little girl but still feel nothing. There’s no point to try again… The yellow magician mumbled as she shoved in the picture back to her bag and stood up to see the condition outside the inn. For what purpose did she had to try hard to remember again, even though she already lost everything from her past and it would never come back again, she will still be alone…forever…

This was what exactly why Noir was summoned to The Plains, to investigate the matter about the raging bear. She knew that recently the bear was coming down from the furthest hill to the farmer’s area and had been hurting a lot of people there. The farmers had been trying to get rid of the bear by themselves but the beast could easily break the trap and was smart enough to not getting caught.

The black haired girl stared at the attacked woman, observed how the blood flow down from the wounds and stained the woman’s white skin with its crimson colored liquid. Yet another one being attacked by the beast, it made Noir curious as why the she couldn’t sense the bear after spending several days there to observe and stop the bear. She decided to wait until midnight and patrolled around the area, might as well helped the farmers to do their job while waiting the moon came up and surrounded the world with darkness.

The bright lady had showed up at the sky, brightening the sky from the darkness while Noir walked around by herself as she instructed the farmers to guard themselves inside their home. She lifted the oil lamp to help her getting a better view of the dark path and as she walked, she couldn’t find any presence from the bear coming to the area. It had been several hours since Noir started to wait for the bear and it didn’t showing up at all today. She wondered to herself if the creature was not feeling to do it today while keep patrolling until morning. Today there was no attack at all.

At the next day, Noir tried to do the patrol again until she reached her 3rd night in The Plains and still no attack. She could feel something was not right at all and decided to walk around once again since there was a place that made her curious. Upon arriving at the place, she saw a big empty barn beside the owner’s house and remembered the owner said that it was just an unused empty barn. It was odd, as Noir felt something inside the barn. Before tried to entering in, she decided to observe the area first and she knew she was right. There was an unnoticed big mark there that was covered with grass, and when the yellow magician shoves the grass away, she looked at a foot mark that most likely belonged to the bear. “What are you doing?!” A man’s voice startled Noir and she made a hasty move to stand up and turned to the man. She noticed he was the owner of the barn and was curious why he brought a handful of food on his right hand. Without even have to ask, Noir took a crowbar and used it to break the barn’s lock. The man yelled to her to stop but Noir ignored him.

As the door was opened, a large figure appeared and ready to send a claw attack to Noir, it broke her borg instantly and sending the half damage to her body as she was pushed by the force of the previous attack. With a sharp gaze, Noir took her wand and tried to whisper to the rukh, just when she wanted to command the rukh, the man grabbed her hand and push her away. “Stay away! He’s not at fault!” While the man considered the bear will not attack him, he was wrong as the bear was ready to pounce him. Noir gritted her teeth as she quickly ran to the man and pushed him away, making herself being pounced by the bear and dealing her damage. She let out a small groan as the bear stood up again and ready to send another attack. Parafulmine

A sudden crimson lightning strike descended towards the bear and instantly knocked it out, after making sure that the bear was not moving at all, she approached the man and said, “Take care of your bear… if you cannot take care of it… kill it…”

Noir took her leave and went back to the academy that night, wondering inside her heart if she could get a pet. But the thought that there was a chance that she would make her pet become like the bear made her min clouded in doubt. So she tried to think about that for another day, while enjoying the cold breeze of the night.
