The wyvern had been felled, it was a creature a graceful being that only hunted to survive, Vodarara set about retrieving what he could from the arrows he had lodged in the body of the creature. At least he could reuse some of it, however it would be impossible for him to be able to deal with this wyvern, it pained him much but it was going to be necessary to set up a number of perimeter fires, the light should attract some attention in the night and he was sure the Imuchakk would love to snack on the wyvern.
Vodarara gave the wyvern a search over looking across the creature’s body, helping himself to a mixture of scales and fangs from its body, it would be nice to take the meat but he didn’t have time to cure it all.
To aid in it maintaining itself and not starting to rot, Vodarara set about quickly gutting the creature to stop any organs from seeping into the body cavity and ruining the creatures flesh, it would also allow the cool air to at least aid in maintaining the meat and increasing the time it would need before it would start to be eaten away and decay.
Across the body, Vodarara noticed scratches and scar that some of which ran deep, around the size of yeti claws, it could be well that his final target a yeti was at fault for these, maybe it had started the expanse of creatures outwards because it had been disturbed if it had begun flushing wyvern’s from the roosts and taken a liking to their eggs it could well start causing critical damage to other species, Wyvern’s took a long time to raise their hatchlings and the more that were lost the more damage would befall the population.
With the fires set it should aid with warding off the animals at least for a while, he hoped someone would at least come and pick up the meat, it would be a waste to see it just be left to rot, the wolves had likely fled off and would wait to return but would they wish to feed off a wyvern, the pack was likely having a dominance struggle at this time.
Vodarara had felt odd recently, he felt as if he was being followed a capable tracker had been able to keep on him even if he disrupted his trail, could it be someone tracking him with a pet following his scent, that could be entirely possible, if they had used the letter he gave to asisiak they should be able to get a scent tracer and be able to send their animals to follow it, even if he disrupted his scent once they were in the area, if they had anything in the air they could observe and follow from there.
Though that wasn’t something to be worried about for now, he would need to head towards the Wyvern nests deep in the mountains, it would be a long walk and then a tough climb, it was likely the yeti would be at the main roosts of the Wyverns.
Vodarara set off into the night through the wilderness, he preferred not to travel at night but this was something of necessary urgency, his first target was a cache of his at the mountains.
He had once indulged in a single wyvern egg as a delicacy it was something one could only take once a decade if you wanted to avoid causing serious anger and possibly damage to the wyverns, it also took time to identify which egg wasn’t harbouring a hatchling.
