The wyvern had been felled, it was a creature a graceful being that only hunted to survive, Vodarara set about retrieving what he could from the arrows he had lodged in the body of the creature. At least he could reuse some of it, however it would be impossible for him to be able to deal with this wyvern, it pained him much but it was going to be necessary to set up a number of perimeter fires, the light should attract some attention in the night and he was sure the Imuchakk would love to snack on the wyvern.

Vodarara gave the wyvern a search over looking across the creature’s body, helping himself to a mixture of scales and fangs from its body, it would be nice to take the meat but he didn’t have time to cure it all.

To aid in it maintaining itself and not starting to rot, Vodarara set about quickly gutting the creature to stop any organs from seeping into the body cavity and ruining the creatures flesh, it would also allow the cool air to at least aid in maintaining the meat and increasing the time it would need before it would start to be eaten away and decay.

Across the body, Vodarara noticed scratches and scar that some of which ran deep, around the size of yeti claws, it could be well that his final target a yeti was at fault for these, maybe it had started the expanse of creatures outwards because it had been disturbed if it had begun flushing wyvern’s from the roosts and taken a liking to their eggs it could well start causing critical damage to other species, Wyvern’s took a long time to raise their hatchlings and the more that were lost the more damage would befall the population.

With the fires set it should aid with warding off the animals at least for a while, he hoped someone would at least come and pick up the meat, it would be a waste to see it just be left to rot, the wolves had likely fled off and would wait to return but would they wish to feed off a wyvern, the pack was likely having a dominance struggle at this time.

Vodarara had felt odd recently, he felt as if he was being followed a capable tracker had been able to keep on him even if he disrupted his trail, could it be someone tracking him with a pet following his scent, that could be entirely possible, if they had used the letter he gave to asisiak they should be able to get a scent tracer and be able to send their animals to follow it, even if he disrupted his scent once they were in the area, if they had anything in the air they could observe and follow from there.

Though that wasn’t something to be worried about for now, he would need to head towards the Wyvern nests deep in the mountains, it would be a long walk and then a tough climb, it was likely the yeti would be at the main roosts of the Wyverns.

Vodarara set off into the night through the wilderness, he preferred not to travel at night but this was something of necessary urgency, his first target was a cache of his at the mountains.

He had once indulged in a single wyvern egg as a delicacy it was something one could only take once a decade if you wanted to avoid causing serious anger and possibly damage to the wyverns, it also took time to identify which egg wasn’t harbouring a hatchling.

It took him in till dawn break to reach the mountains, he had covered as much distance as quickly and safely as he could through the night, he was in a rush to deal with this issue and wanted to have it sorted.

The mountains were cragged sharp jagged rock, snow and ice ran through the gaps down the mountain surface, making it look like seams of metal that could run through the rock, it towered up above it would be a lengthy, dangerous and difficult climb.

From his cache, he retrieve some supplies as well as a set of bone crampons and bone ice picks, there would be some area’s which climbing directly up ice would require these.

Vodarara quickly downed some dried smoked meat and some purified water, during the climb he would only have set spots if they still remained where he could stop and take a break, he would need a long rest after this.

He set about his ascension of the mountain, it started with climbing up a gradually increasing gradient of snow, its steepness slowly inclining, slowly working your way forward, punching a spike into the snow to check for crevasses, that one miss step could lead to a life ending plummet.

It took him a number of hours before he reached the next section of his climb, as he pulled himself over the ledge of the snow field up onto the rocks, he took this point to regain some energy snacking on some food again, it was of prime importance to keep your energy up, you didn’t want it to fade when you most needed it.

He next section of the climb would be a sheer ice wall, this is what he needed the crampons and ice picks for they aided with grasping into the ice, it somewhat make the trip quicker and safer, working your way up the rock could be dangerous, nothing could safely pursue up or down the ice face.

He began his slow climb, thunk after thunk as he worked his way up the ice face as carefully as he could, he guessed if he did fall it would be a rather quick end by severe body trauma and impalement, where after he would wither into the ground and re-join nature.

It was an exhausting climb before he finally managed to haul himself over the top of the ice wall, after which he used his remaining energy to haul himself to suitable cover before he began to fulfil his hunger and quenched his thirst.

After he regained his energy, it was time to head towards the peak, he was thankful to all the times he had experienced mountain climbs, it aided with at least being able to manage with the lack of air up here as well as when he was younger experiencing the headaches it could give you, he hoped he wasn’t pushing himself too far with the speed he had to ascend at.

He removed his crampons and packed them away with his picks and set about the final stretch by hand climbing up the rocks, he had prepared his bow expecting that he would most likely be jumped by the creature, it most likely knew he was here already and lying in wait somewhere up above.

He continued ascending up the rock, a wave of pain passed over his head a common trait of mountain sickness was starting to arrive, though he would have to be careful he kept moving, if he stopped he would be even more vulnerable.

He would have rather not been hunting alone against yeti’s but he had no partner to hunt with, he had always hunted alone and that was the only way he had, you had to make do with what you had if you wanted to survive.

It hadn’t been long since his headache, he had only take a number of steps as he quickly jumped spun around to face where he had been standing when he had the quiver through his brain and leaped backwards a large chunk of ice smashed into the rocks.

With a crack and crunch the rocks gave way, even the rocks under his feet even with the distance between him and the ice shifted and collapsed as Vodarara went for a handhold, soon after the rocks fell, he himself fell down unto them as well, his head rang like bells and his muscles ached, he would have defiantly been killed if he had been where he was standing a while earlier.

Sound returned to his ears as he hauled himself back to his feet, a large crash after crash closed in, well this had not gone to plan he was now rather trapped by a yeti.

Vodarara scanned and saw a raised spike of ice above between the gap between the rocks around the higher part of the mountain, he was on, this was to be about the most insane idea he had in the history of his life, he wasn’t a hero and if this went wrong it would be a quick drop down.

Vodarara grabbed two bomblets, a Venom Bomb and a Smoke Bombfrom his pockets and threw them in the direction the yeti before Tumbling (Tumble) backwards.

He heard some hissing and a bang behind him but didn’t care to look as he unwound his harpoon arrow as he ran as fast as he could.

He thought he could hear something like anger coming behind him and he had broken a rule of not turning your back on the prey but in this situation he was the prey.

Vodarara launched the Harpoon and hoped for dear life he could hold on, as he swung clear he cut the rope as he flew over landing onto the other rocks, soon after he quickly kissed the lovely soft… hard rock floor.

Vodarara quickly scampered up the rock face to get better vantage, he could reasonably out run the Yeti but up here he had to avoid as best he could and get the high ground.

Vodarara drew a Thermos launching it in the yeti’s direction, followed by a Maw.

The Maw overtook the Thermos as thermos took a high arc, the maw landing in the neck of the yeti.

Soon later a coating of hot paste landed on the yeti’s fur, the yeti locked its bloodshot eyes on Vodarara as he began to reposition, the yeti grabbed a chunk of rock and ice and launched it through the air.

Vodarara had little where to go and put his hope in one of his new arrows Covering it sailed to meet the incoming projectile and if by some luck managed to break it, he was sure he got lucky.

It seemed the Poison had at least affected the creature, this was likely the only chance Vodarara had.

Vodarara launched an Arrow through the air towards the yeti’s knee, it landed hard in its knee, it stumbled slightly as it swung its arm to break the imbedded arrow’s shaft.

Vodarara launched another for the other knee Arrow that landed to, he was lucky the creature had been quite effectively slowed.

He continued filling the yeti like a pin cushion as it got back to its feet, an Arrow lodging into its shoulder, with another Arrow and another Arrow following it up.

Though it had now started to regain its balance, Vodarara drew a Flash Flare launching that towards the yeti’s face, a flash of light filled its eyes.

Another arrow came behind Net Spray a net exploded hooking onto the yeti’s leg.

He had to kill it now, Vodarara launched another Arrow into the creatures neck and then another Arrow alongside it.

Finally the beast fell, it stumbled back over the ledge and just plummeted down the mountain face, well at least it went down, something would scavenge its corpse and much of his arrows had been complete lost because of this battle.

Exhausted Vodarara climbed towards the peek, once he reached the top he kneeled down, said a few quite words, he said a prayer to the wilderness, hoping for its rebalance, dragging himself into an alcove, he lay back to rest a job done finally.
