It was a cold day Vodarara was yet again working on some specialised arrows through the time that he had seen the expanse of some areas of this world, he had come to see new and different techniques quite rapidly in recent times, people whom could conjure elements into reality, towers that appeared from nowhere with no explanation and then weird aura’s that where emitted around some beings after that.

He sat in a wind-swept blizzard filled day, a small fire glowed producing a small amount of heat, the fire slowly being stoked on occasion to keep it burning, while it would slowly melt down snow to the boil to make certain to purify it.

In his hands Vodarara worked with a Small Knife whittling and working away at Dried Bone Shaft that he was using to make a test arrow, carefully he slowly work layers of bone down slowly grinding the blade over layer after layer of bone slowly whittling one point down into a cross sectioned point at the end.

After which he began work at the other end slowly grinding into the bone at three different points, slowly working bar grooves into the Bone Shaft of the Arrow, he was painstakingly crafting, the first model or plans took the longest of all arrows once you memories it and had worked out how you wanted them it wasn’t so hard but of course he didn’t mass produce arrows, the smaller more standardised arrows weren’t as specialised as these and those didn’t take as much time.

But many of his specialised arrows took hours if not more to painstakingly make, thus why he would prefer to only use them on enemies he had deemed of reasonable threat to require delivery of such a weapon, if they weren’t they would be a waste of his time in making these arrows, the had to be perfect and any inconsistency could lead to failure on the field and failure could mean death.

He aimed to make sure his arrow would balance out around what could be said to be three inches from the arrows centre point. Though this process would come after affixing snowy owl feathers to the arrows shaft, these feathers were white with sometimes the occasional grey or black speckle in the feather.

The hardened section of the feather would inlay into the grove on the arrow shaft, the thing with feathers of arrows was if the feathers weren’t of top quality, it could cause catastrophic effects to the arrows flight thus possibly even rendering it useless.

The water had finished picking up temperature over the fire as Vodarara added in a mix of pastes and powdered plants and fungi, slowing turning and mixing them as the slowly clumped together absorbing in the warmed water.

Once it had absorbed together all the melted snow water, Vodarara shifted it deeper into the hot stones that where set in the fire to keep the pot from being sat on the fire shifting it so the fire lapped towards the rim and sides on the bone pan.

Vodarara removed a bone flat ended handled knife from one of his many pouches, carefully working it into the sticky but also runny paste, it would require cautious and careful placement but within a time limit before the paste set from not being heated.

He worked his hands shifting the paste down it the grove on the arrow shaft filling it with the paste, before placing the knife teetered into the pan, as he took some ash from one of his pouches adding it onto the top of the paste as he slowly compressed the feather delicately and carefully into the grove, excess paste would slowly be expanded out and pushed out.

Vodarara took the knife again pulling a side over the edge of the pan before revolving it and clearing the other side as he brought it to the shaft and worked his way around the feather removing the excess paste away from the feather slowly and carefully not to get any onto the feather itself.

He would have to continue this process two more times.

Once the feathers had all been placed into the formation, they created a triangular alignment from this, Vodarara slowly made a small guide groove on the end of the arrow, this helped with the sitting of the arrow on the string allowing for the force to be directed to its centre as well as guiding the string into that spot, however it was only a fine grove, Vodarara had no use for how other bowmen did of having his arrows be able to sit there without effort from the wielder.

Once that was done it was time to add the head of the arrow this was cross like x section that would sit as its head, made of dried bone, Vodarara had to slowly work it down with his knife, grinding away layer after layer of bone to funnel out an X sitting on a cross that had an oval at its centre, the arrows design wasn’t to be sharp.

He removed another tool from his collection a pointed object that was spiralled however there wasn’t any groves to the spiral, Vodarara took the item to the oval cross on the base of the head and slowly started working it backwards and forth slowly grinding an indentation into the base of the arrow head, he would continue this slowly checking and working it down to match the depth of the spike on the end of the arrow shaft.

Once they had reached the same size Vodarara used a sharp blade to slow grind out the sides slightly more as it would need some space for the paste to fill and act as a securing method for the arrow head.

Though pasting would come later, he took another blade to the X which lead up to the point of the arrow, and along each two section he slowly made fine grooves into the bone and an angle, this was what he would guide in a section of wood into, slowly working his way round guiding a plate of guided wood into each place.

Vodarara than began to work a knife into the paste in the pan lifting it back up shifting it on top of the rocks as he stoked the fire once more and worked the paste slowly increasing the temperature as he added some water and more powders to addition to it of the same types as before to counteract the additional water slowly bringing it back to workable consistency.

Vodarara would this time remove it from the fire and by his left hand’s finger tips slowly worked the paste into the indentation, his left hands finger’s showed scar tissue from burns and cuts that had aged his hands, his thick skin that got harder over time from cold and work.

He slowly worked it into and held it in till it would set.

The final phase would be working the arrows balancing point it had to sit perfectly, Vodarara had given it some thought, the arrow he didn’t necessarily want to fly in a curve due to weight, but his idea was to design something to counteract the powerful abilities he had seen on the battlefield, this one would be designed to fly true, impact head on which was a rather odd feeling as a hunter you had to focus on ambush rather than being ambushed, your arrows would curve and fly through the sky coming down on your prey wasn’t normally looking, most would watch their feet and there plane of sight but not above them.

He placed the arrow upon a wooden triangle at its centre point from head to end of shaft, though it was just age of knowledge and workmanship which allowed him to guess the wear about of the exact centre, from this he would watch in which direction the arrow would drop after he carefully balanced it in stillness on the triangle.

After that he would then take the arrow in hand and carefully work out from the centre and grind away a layer in the direction in which it fell, after each layer he would place it again and then return following the same ritual time and time again in till the balance had been perfected when it would freely balance without aid on the triangle.

This was the finish prototype of his project, he had spent what must have been at least a day if not more he didn’t really keep track of how many times the sun would rise and fall and he had no issue with working for days none stop as that was necessary for staking out animals.

Though thankfully the blizzard had passed now, it would allow him the ability to test his creation.

Vodarara slowly worked his muscles out, warming the up before he began the process of stringing his bow.

Vodarara would practice with its survivability, continuing with it in till it became unusable or was destroyed.

He would continue this process in till he was completely happy with a creation that he would then start as one of his personal specialist arrows, he kept details in scribbles on pieces of bark which he cloned and had scattered in numerous hide aways across imuchakk, it sometimes helped to leave memory jogs or at least something that could well be a memory if anyone ever found it.

Vodarara continued his practice.

After sometime he finally completed it Covering the arrow launched through the air flying clean and true, he would at least believe if you shot it right you would pick a snowflake off someones head and deflect its direction, though who knows that may be exaggeration, history was an odd thing something that changes in time.
