The Task:

Last time Merrze did a task she only took down three soldiers by herself and that alone was sort of a struggle. She had gotten stronger since though. This time she would be going on her own for this task. She would have to face more people on her own this time but she was prepared for that. Now she knew she could handle those Kou Soldiers. After all she had two moves up her sleeves that would definitely help her take out these guys. She hadn't got to try it out in battle since she developed but she couldn't wait to try the ace that was up her sleeve, She had grabbed her sword and looked around to see if she was forgetting anything in her small inn room but seemed to have everything so she was going to go on her way now. Her task was going to be thinning numbers again. She didn't know how much importance it had but she thought even if it wasn't the biggest task she was going to do her best. She walked out of her room with some sense of pride, glad to be helping and playing some role that would help in the long run. She would be heading to Remano where the amount of Kou soldiers had been increasing at a rapid rate. If she didn't help thin he numbers here they might build up their forces up to largely. She would have to think of a strategy where she didn't just rush in and kill a bunch of soldiers, if she did that then things probably wouldn't work out so well for her. She would probably try and lure a few soldiers out or maybe follow some that strayed off from the group. She would worry about that when she saw the place for herself, it would be kind of hard to come up with a plan in an area you've never seen before. She would definitely show the guys she takes out what she's made of. This time she is going to take out as many of the guys as she can with taking little damage. She heard a large group making a ruckus not too far from where she was so she assumed this was probably the soldiers. It was night time and so there was a good chance that they were having some sort of partying so she could probably use this as a good opportunity. She walked around the area until she got to the location where the noise was coming from. There was a large collection of troops eating, drinking and talking to pretty woman. She wasn't very good at tricking people but she thought this would be a good chance for her. She was going to pretend to be one of the ladies there to entertain the men then drag a few of them away from the rest. After she would get them alone she was going to ambush them, she would surprise however many she took with her then take them all out.

She snuck her way in past a couple of soldiers until she found a group of men who seemed to be alone. She walked over to them and joined them, there was six of them and they seemed quit lonely. She said "Hey young men would you like to have some fun?" she said provocatively but on the inside she wanted to puke. They nodded at what she said, they weren't the brightest soldiers, they didn't even seem to notice that she was a fanalis, well it was dark where they were hanging out. She then said "Alright then follow me to have one of the most fun nights of your life." Sure it was dark were they were but the noise would get them caught if she tried to take then out right there. She lead to men a couple of feet away from the place were they where partying and lead them into a large alleyway. She turned around and looked at the men. They truly were dumb if they were going to follow a woman they had just met in a dark alleyway away from their camp. She said. "Alright your nice surprise is, death." She drew her sword and the soldiers quickly followed that example and drew their weapons and shields, Atleast they were smart enough to keep their weapons on them at all times. She egged for the soldiers to charge at her. She was at the disadvantage since there were more of them but she could take out these fools. They charged at her and as they did so Merrze leaped over all of them. She grabbed one by the back of his head before he could react. She slammed his head into the ground twice sure that he was dead but just incase she threw him into a nearby wall. One down now only 5 more of them to go. One charged at her and she attempted to punch him but he used Block and stopped her attack. He took advantage of this moment then used Jab to stab her arm. The attack hurt but it only made her more angry. She used her sword to stab him in the chest four times until he collapsed. These guys were falling like fruit flies but the other four guys realized how strong she was and they were now more weary and cautious of when trying to attack her. She rushed at one of the guys and tried to slash him but he used Parry then tried to use Shield Bash but she she moved out of the way then slashed his throat. What would the best way to take out this guy she thought, she then decided to use Rising Uppercut on him. After that she stabbed her sword in his throat and left it there so he could die. She had taken down half of them, now she had to take down the rest of these fools and report her results.

One of the soldiers rushed at her, she guessed this was out of fear based on how he looked and his sloppy form. She looked at him with pity as he rushed at her. She had fought some sad looking foes but the fear made him seem like he was more pathetic than he really was. He attempted to slash her and he slashed her arm and that didn't make her so happy. She was already in pain from the Jab earlier so she didn't really feel like taking anymore damage. She got behind him and punched him in the head as hard as she could. She then used Whirlwind Kick, after the total amount of blows landed she had thought she heard the sound of a skull cracking. Now she just needed to take out the other two. She had a good idea on how she was going to kill these two. She was going to use her ace and finish them off quick and painless. The both rushed at her and tried to stab her but she moved out of the way. They were fast for a pair of scared looking soldiers. Most people would think what she was doing is cruel, but these men, she could tell how sick and twisted they were, they didn't have the eyes of innocent hard working men. They had both kept attempting to attack her, they had slightly scratched her but they didn't land any serious hits. She thought now was definitely the time to finish them off. She was saving best for last, it was also a good test run on how it worked in combat against more than one foe. She used Savage Soul, when the magoi claws appeared around her hands they had surprised and scared the soldiers. She ran at them and slashed one of the soldiers heads off in a single slash of her claws. The last remaining soldier started to run away in fear but she chased after him. She pounced on him and plunged her claws into his chest stopping his breathing in a matter of seconds. She had finished that without much trouble but she of course was still slightly hurt. Over all she had thought she did pretty good though and was happy with the results of the task. She did have to get out of here quickly before the other soldiers come looking for their comrades and see this bloody scene. She grabbed her sword from the corpse she had killed with it and started to head out. She didn't want to know what would happen if she decided to stay around here. She just walked to where Octavius was so she could report her task. As she was walking away she had stared hearing the screams of people and the yell of soldiers saying things like search the area. She gave a slight smirk as she heard this and just hurried to where she needed to get to. Morale probably wasn't going to be the best among them knowing that they're slowly getting picked off one by one.

Octavius smiled at Merrze as she reported back in. The girl was proving herself to be efficient and enthusiastic and her recent mission had been thoroughly completed. His expression was warm when he clasped her arm in a warrior’s shake.

“Sister, you are ruthless and efficient. I can admire that. But, I will caution you, as I do all of my family... do not let your rage control you. It is a dangerous aspect of our race, we tend to let our tempers rule reason. But, if you can control it, it will help you in battle. Just do not lose yourself to the haze of battle, you may end up hurting innocent people on accident.”

His expression was friendly, but filled with concern. She seemed like a good kid, eager to help and use her skills in the appropriate places and he did not want to see her fall into a rage one day and accidentally kill someone she did not intend to. It could ruin a person.

“But, the next thing we have for you is a bit more complex. I need to get a message over to the other branch of the rebellion. The streets are not safe these days, even with the talented messengers I have. So, I would appreciate it if you would escort this messenger for me. Protect them, in case there is an ambush. Would you be willing to do that? Or do you have other ideas of what you would like to do?”

He would listen to her answer intently, eager to have her feedback and opinions. He had found through his experience that soldiers performed best when they had input on their tasks and often might bring up something he may not have thought of.

She would head his words when she warned him about controlling her temper. She was generally still a little reasonable when she got mad. She had never go to the point where she was controlled by full blown anger. There might be a time where that might happen, she didn't want to get out of hand and do something too crazy. She hated her temper and wish she could control it but she had no say in that matter. "Sir I've been slightly educated but all I seem to be good at is fighting, so I'll gladly accept this mission to protect a messenger. but " She was a bit hesitant at first but she knew she had to tell him. "When I was walking through the enemy camp I heard a important officer in their military would be traveling to the city. I heard he would be coming in through the western front, I think it would be a good idea to try and take him out, I'd do it but i don't know if I'm the right person for the job. I just thought it would be important to inform you." she said this with slight concern.

Octavius brightened at the woman’s words, giving her an encouraging slap on the back.

“I thank you for that information, sister. I will most certainly keep this in mind and perhaps, once you are done with the messenger, I will know who I can send to take care of this Commander fellow. You did well, Merrze, and never be afraid to come to me about any concerns or questions. Or even to chat, I have been told I have two perfectly good ears, though at my age, I am beginning to doubt that.”

He would loosen a booming laugh at his own joke, shaking his head. He truly appreciated her bringing the information to his attention, but a Commander required more planning that a few grunts. His interaction with her reminded him of many of the orphans he had brought in to the Fanalis Corp and how much he had enjoyed providing a constructive outlet for their anger while lending them a comforting, understanding ear. Many an orphaned Fanalis had found comfort and purpose in the Corp and Octavius sincerely hoped to rebuild that haven for his people once this rebellion business was over.

She felt happy to hear his offer. He was a very kind man and she was glad that she was able to help the cause. She wondered what would happen after the rebellion was all over and such. She was wonderin if she would see some of her other comrades as much but she tried her best not to worry. "Thank you for the offer and I will be on my way to protect the messenger with all of my might." She wondered what would happen during this rebellion. She of course did hope that they would succeed. Merrze gave a friendly smile then saw her way out to get some rest before she would do her task.
