Job Overview: Octavius has asked that you escort 20 rowdy, hyper orphans to a village about a day’s ride to the west of Remano. Keep the children on task and keep them from worrying about the current rebellion as they are relocated. They will be staying in a large manor run but an elderly woman that is a friend of Octavius, so be respectful on arrival.
It was early morning and Merrze had just woke up. Today she was going to spend the entire day guiding 20 kids to a manor in Remano. It was going to be a hard task because the children would probably be hard to keep in check. She had decided she would go buy some food so that children would have something to snack on while they were travelling. She got dressed, equipped her sword incase she would need it later. She doubted she would need it but it was always a good thing to keep on hand she thought. She left her room, she saw the lady who ran the inn. She gave her a wave before she headed out. She walked towards the direction of the market, she had been told that she was good with children but she had no idea if she really was. When she got to the market she new what she was going to buy, she was going to buy preserved meats, some fruit, and of course some freshly baked bread, she was sure the kids would like those things, well then again she could only assume what they would like in the end. After she bought all of the materials she decided to head on her way to orphanage. She wondered how old most of the kids would be but she assumed most of them would be really young. As she arrived at the orphanage she met a nice woman who seemed to be the one who looked after the children. "Are you the one who runs this orphanage by any chance? I'm Merrze, the one who's come to take the children to the manor in Remano." she said kindly as she approached the woman. The woman gave her a kind smile then said. "Yes I am the one who takes care of the children, my name is Meliana, nice to meet you Merrze. Please follow me inside, I'll show you to the children then you can be on your way." Meliana said as she started to lead Merrze inside of the orphanage. When she got inside she saw a few young children playing around, she about 17 of them playing and they ranged anywhere between the ages of 5-13. She had been told that there were 20 kids she was wondering where the other 3 kids where. Meliana was about to introduce Merrze to the children when three older kids walked in. There was one girl and the other two were boys. Meliana then gave a soft smile and said. "Merrze these are the three oldest, the two boys are Lucian and Lucius they are twins and are 15. This young lady here is Adriana and she is 17. Feel free to have them do anything you need them to do while taking them to the manor in Remano. And everyone this here is Merrze, sh will be the one taking you all to the manor, make sure that all of you behave and listen to whatever she has to say." The children gave a resounding yes as the older kids wrangled them up. She thought things were going to go well.
She was waiting outside and she saw the older kids walk out with all of the little kids. They all had their stuff ready and they were all ready to go. Merrze then whistled to gain their attention. When she gave their attention she then said. "Alright kids, a you all now we're going to a place where you kids will be staying for awhile, the walk will take most of the day and I know you kids may not like it but I have some food for our journey. Now why don't we start going now." She was hoping that the children would actually listen to her while they were travelling but they were rowdy before they left and would probably only get worse as they progressed in their travels. The kids all gave a nod of approval and then continued to chatter amongst themselves. She started walking and had them follow her. The older kids stayed upfront near her and she chatted with for a bit. They just talked about their interests in the like and she also asked them what they wanted to be in the future. Adriana said she wanted to try and become a magician one day since she seemed to have the aptitude and Lucian and Lucius said they both planned on joining the military at some point in their lives. They seemed like good kids and she was glad to be guiding them to their destination. She did think this was a good break from her normal routine, normally she would fight, go back to the inn than have something involving fighting the next day. She was either fighting, training, or walking around the market. She thought this was a great breather. Sure some of the kids would run off now and then and she had to chase after them but besides that things were going well, and she had fun guiding the kids. It was fun to her what they had to say and see them play around like the innocent children they were. She was glad to be getting them away from the orphanage so they didn't have to be there when the fighting would start. They had been walking for awhile and she could tell some of the kids were getting exhausted. She wanted to cover a little ground before they would stop and she would give them food so she encouraged them by saying they'll take a break soon if they can continue a little bit longer and she implied that they would get food which of course kept the kids going. Since they were orphans they probably didn't have a lot to eat but they did have each other, and she envied them for that. She never really had anyone and when she did they were taken away from her before she knew them long. That was the past though and she was happy to have the people that she had now, even if there were little she was happy just to have them.
Now that they had been travelling for awhile Merrze thought it was a good time for them to take a break. She had to find a place were her and he kids could rest then had them all sit down. It took awhile for her to calm all of them down and try to get them to relax but it took awhile. After she had somehow managed to get them all to sit down she passed out the food to all of the kids. She sliced up the fruit and passed it out the children, she then gave them each some bread with a tiny piece of meat. They all looked so happy eating their snack and talking amongst themselves. She didn't leave any for herself, she wanted to make sure all of the kids had enough to eat, she hadn't ate anything that day but she wasn't going to let any of them know that. Very soon they had all finished their snacks, she was going to let them talk and play a bit more before she would force them to continue to walk, they deserved it for being mostly obedient for the journey. After about a half-hour of resting she signalled to the kids that they were going to be travelling again. They still had along way to walk but she knew that the kids would be able to handle it. They embarked to continue their long walk, she at least hoped that they could bare the heat for the second part of their journey. After a few more hours of working they could see Remano very close to where they were, it was starting to get dark out and some of the older kids were carrying the younger kids. She smiled when she saw this, she thought it was very cute of them and had informed them that they were going to be in the city soon and the kids that were awake cheered a little hearing that soon they wouldn't have to walk much longer, though Merrze still had to make a round trip back so she could inform Octavius of everything as soon as she could. They had arrived at the manor and there was a lady there to guide them inside. She seemed to be Octavius' friend and she took them inside were the kids were given a place to rest. After the kids were all gone to their sleeping quarters she was going to leave when the lady stopped her and said. "Thank you for bringing the children here, please stay and sleep for the night. You must be very tired from this long journey aren't you?" Merrze then replied kindly to the woman. "No it's okay, I have to hurry and get back any way. There are plenty of things that I can't wait to do but thanks for the offer. I hope the children are safe and happy here, they are all very good kids and deserve much better lives." She then walked out on her way to report her results and see if the task for taking out the important office was underway or had been planned. She was going to miss the children a little and decided she would visit them whenever she had the chance, she would of course make sure to play with them next time she saw them that is.
