It was a long trek through the desert to get to this treasure. The wander had no more treasures to share, no more lessons to teach, no more wounds to heal. With a promising lie to settle down, he sent Klara off to create stories of her own. Unlike him, she would have real stories and treasures to share. "It was probably another lie... I wish he would be more honest..." The girl let out a sigh before moving forward.

The girl Wore her Insectoid Dungeon Beast Skull with a white headdress underneath to protect her from the sun. A white cloak covered her black tattered leotard with a red bandage wrapped around her right shoulder and leotard creating the appearance of a low cut dress. A black choker with a silver emblem locked the top of the bandage with a belt like strap with a match larger emblem formed the "skirt" of the "dress." A black belt like band covered much of the girl's left thigh with a couple skinner black straps circling the girls right thigh. She wore a pair of long thin black gloves which extended up to her triceps. Around her neck was a necklace with a smooth river stone. Around the belt skirt hung large animal teeth. In her hands was a staff with a large blanket bag with all of her travel gear, food, and treasures.

Upon entering the city the girl was quickly noticed by other Fanalis despite her keeping her head down. It was probably the large bag. The girl was quiet at first unsure what to do. They were clearly excited, like siblings reuniting with family. She did not know them but it seemed being Fanalis was all that was needed. It was nice that being Fanalis was valuable to others. Still, the attention from strangers was a bit overbearing. Before she could say something, they mentioned a party to celebrate the creation of a home for their people. "Party?" The girl repeated, feeling more open to interact all of a sudden.

With the information at hand, she decided to partake. Renting a small room in an inn, the girl looked over the posters she collected. The first time she visited this city, or any city without the wanderer, people were so accepting of her. It kind of made her want to stay. However, her goals, her reason for traveling would never be achieved if she settled down so quickly. Losing her skull and headdress the girl headed out. It was time to have fun, meet new people, and maybe find some treasures.

It was cooler in the desert at night than it was during high noon. Her dress, sheer and light, had begun to make her wish she chose something heavier for the coming chill. Diana sipped from the thin crystal bowl cupped in her hand, sampling the clear liquid within — a rich ouzo, lining her lips with tones of anise.

Atop the pyramid, looking onto the settlement and how much it grew… she couldn’t help but feel as though it was all shaping into a place to call home.

“And our new clansmen will have a proper temple of worship for their gods again,” she added, “Those people have been through too much.”

She takes a step down the faceted edges. Her trained deftness made it seem more trivial than it was. Yet she took her time, careful not to make a mistake. Diana looked back at Jahan, lifting her glass.

“Come. No sense in stressing over work to be done. You wanted us to relax and celebrate tonight, did you not?”

The party was lively. There was food, drinks, and laughter everywhere. Dozens if not hundreds of people having the time of their lives. She should be one of those people. She should be weaseling into conversations to hear people's stories. She should be exploring the place, making new memories and treasures. However, the girl found herself sitting down at a table with a cup of red liquid surrounded by drunk Fanalis. Half of her was getting flustered if not irritated with the peer pressure but the other half of her was feeling embarrassed about the attention. It was really her first time having so much without the wanderer being around to distract everyone with his wild stories. Looking around, she doubted the people wanted to hear one. No, they wanted her to drink.

Her face went blush pink and she let out a stressed roar, "FINE!" She lifted the cup, took a pause to second guess herself, then down the liquid in one gulp. With a deep breath, she slammed the empty cup down and stood up admis the cheering crowd. With that done, the people gave her more freedom to move around. With a drink in her, she suddenly realized she was hungry. So she found a vendor that was selling a sweet smelling meat. With one hand full, the girl eyes glazed over the surrounding areas. There were so many people.

One crowd made a ring around two people wrestling. With all the excitement, she found herself being sucked up into bystanders. Several punches later, she found herself shouting for the loser. Someone had to cheer for them, plus it would make for a better story, a better treasure to share, a real story unlike what that wanderer would say. Unfortunately they still lost. Disappointing but it was a good way to move away.

Eventually, the girl found a good glimpse of this shining pyramid that brought to mind one thing... "Treasure." If she could get to it, maybe get to it, climb to the top or find a piece of it. It would be a grand story. Her body moved toward the only stopping once due to feeling a weird texture under her foot. It was here that she realized that the floor was gold and gems laced the edges. She tried to move it with her foot but it wouldn't move... at least, not before someone said something. She quickly backed away and feint getting distracted and ran off.

Eventually, the girl found her way to the pyramid. It was here that she saw a woman walking down. She did not know who they were but she had something on her that drew her eye. Klara had to get a closer look and maybe... touch it. At first she tried to move up the pyramid but the surface was just too slippery. So she started to walked around and saw the stairs. But that drink from earlier started to kick in again and the girl realize something. Why should she not be able to clime the side of the oversized triangle. She was Klara Dorylus and she was not about to let some oversize treasure tell her what she could or could not do. So the girl took couple steps back and then charged forward and half heartedly sprinted up the pyramid while shouting!

Diana stalled in her tracks to watch the young fanalis charge up the smooth slope. The girl was a stranger. None she had seen before amongst them. Where she might have given the pup some discipline, she grew more amused than much else. Much to the effects of the ouzo.

The dagger that was tucked inside her waistband gleaned in the falling sunlight as she turned toward her. A subtle curve graced her once straight-lined lips.

“You’re not quite fast enough, child,” she said to the girl, taking another sip out from her chalice. “A few more years and you might be able to make it to the top.”

Stepping closer upon the steps toward her, Diana extended her hand. Either for the young fanalis to grab hold herself to for Diana to catch her from falling on her face.

(got permission to skip)

Her poor sprint got her up but she could feel her feet slipping. At any moment she was going to miss step and faceplant into the oversize treasure and start sliding down. If she missed one crevice in the block with any of her steps... the girl would lose her thoughts upon getting a look of a woman descending down the stairs. However, it was not the woman that was important. It was what was tucked in her waistband that redirected the girl.

It looked more beautiful than it had any right to be. Was this because of the drink? No, the girl had a good eye for this stuff. The wanderer said so... though the man offended lied. The girl shook her head only to forget the focus she needed to scale this pyramid. This led the girl to meet the unfortunate fate that she was destined too. What was unexpected was the woman's voice.

A light criticism followed by a stretched out hand saved the girl from two of the three embarrassing things she could have done. Though at the time, the girl would not care about a thing, in the future she would withdraw into her hood for eternity. Taking the woman's hand, Klara allowed herself to be pulled to the stairs. With her safety taken care of, the girl could cycle to the next stage of her personality.

"I could of made it... but... I just... got... distracted. yeah. I choose not to succeed. Yep. That's it... But thank you. Though I didn't need it. Thank you and..." The girl's eyes wandered everywhere but towards the woman who saved her before remembering the dagger, "That on your waist! I feel like. It is so pretty." The girl took a step to the woman's side to get a better look. "Is that your treasure? Can I see it? Please!"

This was going to be the experience she was seeking. This was going to be the story to beat out the wanderer. Imagine, a girl climbing a pyramid and discovering a woman with a magnificent treasure. From this close, it was probably a weapon... a knife perhaps? The girl was growing ever more excited and assured that this story would come to an end. Then her value would be so much higher than ever.

The girl seemed lost in her wits. Alcohol was laced light on her breath, curious glances darting to all that caught their short-lived interest. Timid excuses floundered out of her mouth and then, she focused.

Diana’s household vessel was captured within youthful eyes like stars glittering in pools of crimson. She seemed keen on getting a closer look. The older fanalis hesitated for a moment; her hand hovering over the janbia, almost to shield the child’s gaze.

Treasure, the girl referred to it as. "You could call it that," Diana responded. Yes. It was such an objectof immeasurable value — to her, at the least.

With a single graceful movement, she pulled the gilded janbia from where it was tucked at her waist. Then, held it to where the girl could see it from a measured distance.

"I think of it more as a promise,” she mused. Her eyes flicked toward Jahangir, a subtle smirk curling her lip. “And security in case that ridiculous man decides to cross me.”

After moving closer to the woman, she moved her hand over the dagger. Klara would stop though her current mental state couldn't explain why. She wanted to see the dagger. She wanted to increase her value with the experience of knowing it, feeling it, seeing it. Did her best to shuffle to the side to get around the woman's hand and get a better view. That was until the woman spoke.

Her eyes jumped to her mouth. She couldn't believe it. It had to be a lie. Treasure was right before her eyes. If only... if only she could experience that feeling. If only she had it before. Clenched teeth hid behind a lowered head. The second round of words from the woman became the spark. "A promise..." The girl raised her head to pout. "Promises are stupid. I never make them ever! Nobody keeps them. They just lie. Though..." The girl's face softened...

*Not all lies... have to be bad*

A sudden hiccup broke tension inside of the girl and she reverted to something more neutral and curious. Her eyes fell back onto the woman's dagger, the woman's treasure, the thing that makes her valuable. If only... "Ms for personal reasons... I... selfishly request... to see your treasure..." She then bowed her head to the woman. "To experience its story... its brilliance... its worth. Please let me indulge in this request."

That's how you are supposed to do it right, wander? That's what you taught me from your stories. That's what I will use to make better, truthful stories!

(exiting this thread do to players going on break will continue if they come back)
