job:

Now that he had put in a lot of the footwork to gather supplies and workers it was time for the aspiring architect to start the construction of his first child of many. He had workers here now that were mixing cement as well as breaking the large chunks of granite down for more usable sizes. Ustad would layout the blueprints that he had designed a week prior.

They would start by laying out the groundwork for the base of the structure. However, ustad would begin this stage himself since he was more suited to doing it. He would pull out a small trowel that he had received while he was taking his apprenticeship in the country of Balbadd. It was named Diggy Diggy Hole which he was not the biggest fan of the name he found it to be quite helpful. He would feed some of his sweet sweet magoi into the trowel before pointing it in front of himself. It would dig a 2x2x1m hole, he would find this to be quite draining but he would be capable of doing it 5 more times before feeling himself to become a bit weary energy wise.  The ground crew would come in and finish digging where it was needed. By the end of it he would have a 50x50x1m hole that would quickly become filled with the slabs of granite that would comprise the flooring, with gaps for the walls.

As for the walls the would make their own bricks using a special mix he learned from Balbadd. The work for the walls would be quite simple compared to the previous step. Creating a layer of bricks with cement in between them. Then once the walls were set up cement would be placed on the exterior before being smoothed over to look like one solid structure. This would not be done yet though. He would put a series of blue purple and green tiles into the wall forming a zig zag line all across the walls with a circular patter consisting of those colors around the 4 doors that faced each direction.

With that done they would make a skeleton of wood for the ceiling that would support the bricks that they use to form the top. This was something that he left to the hands of the workers that he had hired. This was so that he could rest.

While the groundwork was the easiest the rest of the work would take close to a week each, the floor, walls and 2 for the ceiling. Now would come the hardest part. The onion dome that would serve as his office. There would be a series of wooden planks and trusses that served for the framework, crosses serving and junctures to support all of it. The work of the bricks would be done rather smoothly with the cement being added in order to give it the smooth, rounded appearance of an onion that gave the dome it's name. Once dried a turquoise blue paint would be added in several coats before being done with a porthole window to add light inside.

This project all together would take probably 3 months to complete which was rather quick but that was due to Ustad’s expertise in this area. He was a prodigy after all. His grand first child was done and surely put that gaudy palace to shade. He would go straight into the next step of designing the inside which would complete his building.
