A few days had gone by since the budding architect had drawn up plans for his base of operations for the merridia branch of what would be known as Hammer and Chisel. It was a very stereotypical name but he did not think that words or people should be fancy, only the architecture had that claim. Only people with no shame choose gaudy names. In fact he had heard of a group the other day that frequents the plains known as the Sacred Order of the Flames Reach. Just thinking about it again made him annoyed. Who would chouse such an atrocious name for an organization. This was one of the mountainous amount of reasons he wished to avoid as much human contact as possible.

He would go out looking for an area that was rich of stone that he would use for bricks and stone slabs to make the structure he had planned. He did not like being in nature but for circumstances such as this he would bare through it. His problem with nature was that it was full of nuisances and he saw nature as only useful to serve as an accent for architecture nothing more. There were people that believed architecture should not encroach on the domain of nature but ustad would scoff at that. The world without architecture is ugly and disgusting. To ustad the only thing that separated people from animals was architecture itself for without shelter they would have ceased to exist long ago. One can survive without clothes food and water but you cannot live without architecture, it was just a known fact.

He would wonder the three rings going specifically the outer most ring hoping that there would be a cache of rock slabs hidden somewhere in the growth of trees. This would end up taking a couple of days due to the fact that he was ill accustomed to the tropical climate and terrain of a rainforest like ecosystem. Ustad remembers when he was a child watching the other offspring he had playing in the grassy plains that used to be here but now it was all trees, not that is mattered to him.

At last he would stumble across a section of woods that was full of large exposed deposits of granite. Ustad would grin at seeing this as this was exactly what he was currently looking for. Yes most of the structure such as the dome would be made from brick but for the base and floor he wanted stone and granite had a nice look that he liked. This would serve at the floor and other surfaces in his first building which will work great with the brick walls and dome.

The Balbadd learned architect had saved up quite a bit during his time as an apprentice and doing side jobs so it was easy to hire labor to mine and transport the granite to the inner ring where he decided was going to be his place of residence. Although it was going to be in the same ring as the palace that he was not too certain about. He believed he could have made something much better but that was because he was ustad and no one else was lucky enough to be him. But what would make his building stand out is the fact that it does not. Most are in the trees while his will be at the bottom near the bases. This was for his own ego but also because Balbadd architecture is not well suited to building in the trees so he had no knowledge on how to accomplish that feat yet. But it made him smile to think of the tree top people climbing down to the ground to request his artistry.

Now for the rest of the material it would be easy enough to find someone who was willing to make and supply bricks and concrete to him that he would use for the walls. As for the onion dome on top, wood for the frame was in grand supply in merridia so he should have no problem getting a supplier from that as well. This was going to cost him quite a bit but it would be worth it to set up his base. Now it would take a few weeks to gather the supplies but after that he could finally start the construction process.
