Description: Once a small clan a hundred years ago, the Shikizui has grown to prominence as a great clan of its vast region in the past hundred years. Their region's sport is sumo and kendo. It rose to prominence as a rough and tough noble clan from the fields known for their resilient and loyal samurai from hard work ethic backgrounds. Shikizui would quickly grasp control of their region after many victories on the battlefield, and a leader of theirs marrying a famous Kina princess. Shikizui has a great vast class of samurai, larger than many other clans.

Shikizui's current clan leader was a key part in keeping the peace between Kina and Kou during Gao Yuan Zu's reign, as Yoshihiro Shikizui and Gao Yuan Zu got along well despite for having different ideals. Yoshihiro's daughter bore the last Kou ruler's son, Gao Yuan Zu, a son named Yoshiro, the now Emperor of Kou. This would be a largely unknown fact in Kou, but common knowledge among the highest of the Shikizui clan.

Shikizui despite being a great disciplined clan and having immensely rigid values, are changing slowly to being more adaptable to the rest of the evolving clans with Shinsho Shikizui coming into his own more by the day. Some clans fear the potential leadership of Shinsho Shikizui, as the man is a known genius of the battlefield but currently lacks the raw power of his revered grandfather.

In the Shikizui's region, many come from fishing and farming backgrounds. Great trade of food and resources comes from the Shikizui region, but there is rigorous debate among the Shikizui if they the clan would benefit from trade. It is a debate other clans watch intensely, awaiting the clan's decision.

Description: The Morihana clan is one of the oldest in Kina, without roots tying back to ancient myths in the tales of their people. The most dominant clan in their area they are centered in the old capital city of Kyuha. Once lost in its glory after the capital of Kina had changed. However several generations ago the cultural capital saw a boom in spiritual tourism causing the city to be renovated and reimagined into a modern capital. The Morihana clan having had main control of the shrines for 300 years now has revitalized completely wishing to have the glory to be the capital once again.

Strong arming their control with forces mostly made up of mages, beast tamers and body manipulators along with using their accumulated wealth to buy out local samurai, and other clans within the regions to create allegiance under their power of money. Having been a fishing town with temple lands in the seaside forests garnered tourism to gain decent wealth their real breadwinner has been magical innovation.

Keeping most of the knowledge to themselves they have crafted a special water riding board magical tool. Carrying the insignia in their clan the tool acts as a mode of transportation outside of water, by producing a stream of water under it which follows and moves under the board to generate momentum. Along with this they have made human-monster hybrids to put on performances amongst the festival with shows of strength as well.

Description: Originally a smaller clan who oversaw a small mountain village their previous head took advantage of key intelligence and their web of connections to turn on the region's previous leading clan during an attempt to take the capital. With their cavalry and armored archers they secured the Kazeharu clan dominion over the Bodaze Region.

While their armies aren't as large as some of the other military powerhouses of Kina the Kazeharu clan their well-trained elite are kept well equipped through the active political and economic lifestyle of their clan. With access to minerals, forest, lumber and the sea the Bodaze region was already naturally prosperous and even more so through Kazaharu owned merchant companies that import and export goods through the region.

Half of the clan's resources are put towards the research and development of technologies, techniques, and magics that would benefit the region. Though this usually leads to new weaponry the new clan-head, and the daughter of a shrine maiden, Kazeharu Ichika through the lens of the religious goals of harmony with the lands and spirits, hs begun spreading and installment of magical tools through her region in an attempt to spread and sow prosperity.

The Venerable Family, THE HINAMOTO CLAN

Entry: Complete a relevant job or job-chain, then meet with a clan contact and plan an initiation ceremony.
Departure: Relinquish both initiation mask and clan seal.

Description: The Hinamoto once founded the modern nation of Kina, drawing together the various clans under a single banner. They were feared then for the famous tale that their divine blood could control the island itself. The other clans now use this convenient myth to maintain the fragile balance of power between each other, following the now weakened clan to ensure that no single clan has decisive control. Imprisoned within their own capital and their samurai removed, the Hinamoto became glorified puppet-kings with their strings operated by the other clans.

At least, that seemed true for the past few generations. But they had truly been spreading their roots deeper into the foundation of Kina’s politics, carefully growing a garden of lies. This spy network which had formed soon bore fruit under the clan’s current matriarch, Hinamoto Manami, giving her indirect influence over the other clans.

This ruling clan may seem to be kept prisoner within their own capital, but they are actually the prison-guards of Kina. Their subtle influence within the clans has prevented the island nation from interacting with the outside world, lest the clans side with an external power and invite a foreign ruler into their capital. They live in relative comfort, paid tribute with riches by their vassal states, and would never let that river of gold run dry. This island was theirs, many centuries before and surely more after. Whether the crown sat upon their head or lying at their feet, it would always be theirs.

First, the clan-leader and the matriarch who control the various branches.
Second, the elder’s council formed of ten members who have retired from duty, now advising upon the clan’s advancement.

Fourth, the many members who form those branches; those who influence other clan-leaders, those who gather gossip from ordinary folk and those who infiltrate private camps for information.

Description: A very elderly clan that consisted originally of cunning and clever samurai two hundred years ago, with their hands in many ordeals within Kina. Kogata traces its origins back from a prince of the Hinamoto clan whom mainly utilized espionage to protect the Hinamoto clan for years. This clan however would change over a course of a century, as men swapped hands as Kogata leaders.

It would arrive unto Fumiko Kogata however eventually, falling farther from the tree of the Hinamoto. Their purpose as a clan changed many leaders before Fumiko, but now it was under a crueler and colder leadership. They buy and sell information attained from Kogata shinobi, buying out local samurai and clans with wealth and extortion. Kogata are seen as a clan with low values and morals, being untrustworthy. As a result of their reputation, most clans are hesitant in being a friend of them.

It is said the Kogata have hidden shinobi and samurai in every clan. If not for the Kogata, the current state of Kina may not have been as is. It may be a very different country. Kogata's espionage skills and shinobi are highly sought after by other clans, but their cold and merciless nature are not. Elites of the clan have access to great information on Kina and its clans and history, as the Kogata were once a branch family of the Hinamoto.

Description: The Toh clan is one of a tumultuous history. One of the first clans to reach and gain control of lands in Kina they ruled their vast rice fields, with fertile grass to feed their cattle and the springs to settle their bones in. Their location was key, and it was also their a demise. So focused on their business and appreciating their lives as Kina moved into more conflict with itself they found themselves a vassal clan under the Hinamoto, helping provide to their massive agriculture empire.

They would find themselves lost, their old clan banner was even disgraced as they were forced into more submissive rules, giving up their peace, their joys so the other clans enjoyed in their riches. However, 5 years ago this clan had found fate turning in their favor. The young clan heir Toh Tobinara, had spent the early half of his life being kept as a pawn in another clan's army but in this time he learned to fight, he learned to lead, and he learned others would follow his ambitions. Upon the death of his father, he levied what little troops their clan had and would soon perform sweeping battles to boot those that occupied Toh lands.

With their clan sweeping the battlefield over these past few years they found themselves at a stalemate as the tensions skyrocket in the country. Banded together with any who fight under his cause he wants prosperity for his nation, he wants the peace his clan used to know for this nation. But before Kina can know peace, before Kina can unite under one banner, the new banner of the Toh clan. They needed to show the people of the lands, those who came to fight for them and anyone else, that they would burn and smolder, fighting now that they've seen the light. The fire that is their force flickers valiantly, hoping for others to join, to become family under the Toh name.
