Eight has gone to talk about how he can help the clan, in exchange for any amount of help. The clan leader challenges Eight to a duel, should the leader of the clan lose, he will withdraw his samurai from participating in any of Shikizui's plans. But should Eight lose, Eight will have to abandon Kogata and join the Shikizui under the Himura clan.

Hyperion cursed himself as he nearly orchestrated a stranglehold on Kina simply through tactical alliances and omitting the Hinamoto from them, but unfortunately, the Shikizui had eluded his grasp. Now there was word that someone had been visiting the clans before he was able to. Perhaps in response to his plans, but the more likely action was someone had shared his vision for a unified Kina but perhaps for some other purpose. However, he would still have to try to put his hand into the pot as best as he could to figure out what was going on. He would visit this one on his own to not seem too threatening to the Shikizui as he wouldn't be able to force them into any sort of negotiations by virtue of being allies. Even though he was aware Tenma had teamed up with them, this seemed to make the negotiations harder. He would meet with a smaller, prideful clan, that perhaps might want to trade to assist or at least put themselves out of the running of support for the shikizui or better yet, use their opinion to speak favorably of an alliance between the Kogata and the Shikizui.

As he descended in their 'village', he would bow graciously. He could see the men of the Himura clan would train their samurai techniques among them. A younger man of the clan with hair similar to that of a fanalis would greet him, gesturing to follow him. His home was unassuming with no grand features, and it wasn't even the biggest development, but it was clear that this man was the leader of the Himura Clan. His calm nature and his decisive tone ensured these thoughts in Hyperion's head only to be confirmed shortly after. After negotiating, and seeing what Hyperion was willing to offer to help the Himura clan and what it would cost them, the leader of the clan seemed to take what was on the table into account, but he would only agree to the most basic terms and would wager the conditions in battle.

After giving Hyperion some time to prep, he was offered a weapon since he was now weaponless except for his Ember which was perfect to match his enemies wooden sword in terms of damage. This would be more about skill than anything else, but Hyperion had no skill and would have to make use of his tactics. The village of the Himura clan would gather together to observe the duel as a ring of people surrounded them.

The moment the battle began Kenshin would swing the bokken down at Hyperion catching him offguard with his speed and precision. The unwary slaver was unable to parry successfully with his dagger, catching the length of wood against his forearm. With his reaction, he would cast spells in both hands, Snacktime as well as weaving. He would take a bit from the scaled snack time spell to heal the wound on his hand, while he would throw the rest of it down as well as the flat-weaved creation.

The two would seemingly dance as they repositioned on the battlefield as tension rose from the crowd. Hyperion would channel magoi into this Ember using the Crimson Blade Scaling it sufficiently to threaten the clan leader, forcing him to backstep but as he stepped back, the sticky nature of the weaved slime creation binded Kenshin to the floor and the sparks of flame would wash over him, hardly hurting him but as they made contact with the slime on the floor, it would detonate, knocking out the clan leader.

Coming to rather soon, his aids came to help him, but he claimed to his clan in a loud, inspiring voice that they would not interfere with the Shikizui-Kogata relations and they would have to trust in their brethren to be able to make up for their failure today. He would offer to treat Hyperion's wound from the first strike, but he had recovered from the blow by the time it was examined.
