Job details:

The redhead sighed as she walked through the crowded street in the capital city of Kou, had been walking from the mountain non-stop without realizing that she needed to rest for a bit. Now she was tired, very tired and possibly got a minor dehydration as well. The girl would start to feel the dryness in her throat, finally remembered that she had to drink and refresh herself at the moment to prevent unwanted things to happen to her. With a sloppy movement, the tired girl began to prepare her flask before slowly chugging the water, letting it to wet her mouth and throat. Another sigh escaped from her lips, although this one sounded like a more relieved one but at least she was quite happy to be able to rehydrate herself. Not only that, she was able to explore the mountain for hours and spent time there doing all this scavenging things that she used to do in her tribe before.

Now that Altan think of it, she remember that she needed to find a place to say for tonight and the money she got for selling all the scavenging was more than enough to pay for a week stay at nearby inn. The Fanalis would look around and she would find one near a road, not a really big inn but it felt homey at the very least especially with the small plot of crops growing in front of the inn. “Aleswell Inn…?” She mumbled to herself as she read the inn’s name while standing in front of the entrance.

The large blue haired man walked around in confusion through the streets of the city. His large finger tracing the streets on a paper with directions scribbled on, his head tilting up to look around to confirm his location.  His scratched the back of his head in frustration as he took the best guess and weaved in and out of alleys.

In the distance his eyes catch sight of a small red haired girl waiting outside a large build. A breath of relief escapes from the the behemoths and he hurries over to the small girl. Stopping a few feet away, he starts presenting the directions and beginning to talk when his eye catches sight of the sign "Aleswell inn". The giant's hand rummages through the sack hanging from his shoulder, producing a rolled up piece of paper. His eyes quickly read the parchment, glancing up to the inn a few times to confirm, nodding and showing the directions and paper away.

He nods to the small girl, taking a step forward. Pausing in the moment as he returns his gaze to the small girl. " This place is dangerous little lady." His voice is soft and deep. He turns back around, his eyes locked on the Inn as he takes a deep breath and readies himself for what's ahead.

Altan wondered why it felt like an abandoned place since there was no one can be seen inside the building, not only that, there was no one at the street as well. But the redhead was kind of tired and she wanted to just lay herself down on a bed, didn’t matter if it was comfy or not. Just when she decided to go in, someone would talked to her, warning her about the place. The owner of the deep voice was a giant, he was probably 2x bigger than the Fanalis and…was surely an Imuchakk. “Dangerous?” She would ask back, wondering why he would say that about the place.

“Not as dangerous as you think, travelers…”

Altan would quickly lock her eyes towards the giant’s and tilted her head, confused on what he just said. “But you said this place is dangerous?” Oh…wait… Altan suddenly got this chill on her spine as she noticed something. She was just alone, so why would the Imuchakk said ‘travelers’… The redhead would begin to look around but she found no one beside her and the giant standing alone in front of the building. “Did you…say that?” She would ask the Imuchakk, starting to lose the color of her skin. Suddenly the entrance door of the inn was being opened with a loud sound, as if there was a very strong wind pushing the door open. Not only that, both the Fanalis and Imuchakk would be greeted by several voice, echoing from inside the inn even though there was no one standing there.

“Help us.”

“Yes, help us…”

“Help us, please…”

The Fanalis yelped and took a step back while preparing her fist as the cries of the ghost began to scare her. She was more than ready to kick some of the ghosts’ arse although she didn’t know if she could hit them because they were invisible and she didn’t really know what to do.

“Don’t be afraid… please help us… we are cursed by the evil mage called Ancotar… He made us become invisible…”

The giant took a few steps towards the entrance of the inn, his attention being caught by the red-haired girl’s questions. His body shifted as he looked over his shoulder to the girl, a look of confusion on his face from the strange third voice. His eyes scan the area for anyone, finding none. A chill shot down his spine and goosebumps erupt on his skin as he backs towards the girl. His eyes never leaving the inn. “Ghosts are not real.” He whispers to himself trying to ground himself to what’s happening.

A powerful fist flies connects with nothing but air in the direction of the voices all around the behemoth. His shield raised and his fist readied. His brown eyes filled with fear and panic, desperate in finding a physical source. With their words of a foul mage and his magic, the giant’s paralyzing fear finally broke. A heavy breath of relief escaped his lips as he lowered his shield.

“ I must apologize, I had not known the situation. Please forgive my actions.”

A large hand fell onto the young fanalis’ shoulder, giving her a comforting nod.

“I must know how you came to be invisible, and where to find this Ancotar.”

The redhead was relieved that they were not a ghost, they were just unfortunate people that happened to be cursed by an evil mage to be invisible. Wait…ghost is invisible too…right? At that moment, Altan, although feeling a little bit scared, would nod back towards the giant as he gave put his hand on her shoulder. She was always bad with creepy things, well, not all creepy things as she could stand gore stuff happening in front of her, but with stuff like ghost, she was really bad at it. Altan would try to encourage herself, there was some people who needed her help to defeat this evil mage so they can be normal and visible again. That determination alone could be the trigger for the Fanalis to not feeling scared of ghost at the moment.

“We don’t know as well… For my case, I got the curse right after spending the night here, the moment I wake up, the world couldn’t see me anymore.” The voice which came from nowhere startled Altan once again, and to be honest, she was embarrassed to let people see that she was scared by a foolish stuff. However, the ghost who seemed unfazed by the fact that the redhead got startled because he suddenly speaking, would continue. “Ancotar lives near the ruin called Caractacus…please be careful… he is a lightning mage. Not only that, he has a really troublesome dog…” He would also begin to explain how both the Imuchakk and Fanalis could go to reach the ruin called Caractacus, mentioning that they went to the ruin one time and was attacked by the dog owned by the evil mage, making them hesitate to go back again and already started to accept their fate.

Hearing what the invisible people said made the redhead became more determined and she would look at the Imuchakk, inviting him to lend a hand so they could end the invisible people’s curse. “Sir, would you like to aid me to defeat the evil mage? Our strength would be enough to take the mage down… as well as the dog.” The Fanalis would reach her hand out, wanting to shake hands with the giant before saying, “My name is Altan, it is a pleasure to meet you, Sir.”

Should the giant agreed to lend a hand, Altan who had some knowledge about Kou’s area and able to picture the way mentioned by the ghost would try to lead the way. She wouldn’t mind if the Imuchakk wanted to lead the way as well if he had more knowledge about the area as long as they were in the right track to their destination.

Barratiti looks at the red-haired women as the victims’ cried for aid. A look of uncertainty and concern in his eyes. With a heavy breath, Barratiti settles on a single knee to be at eye level with the little lady. His massive mitt reached out to gently hold and shake her hand.

“It is truly a pleasure to meet you Altan. I am Barratiti of the Imuchakk. I must admit my concern for your safety as I do not know what you are capable of. However, you seem quick to jump to their aid, perhaps that is a result a confidence gained because of your strength.”

The giant pulled out the map he had been looking at earlier and handed it over to Altan, his thumb marking their current location. “I however am foreign to this city, and this country. It would be best if you led us to these ruins.”

Barratiti stood back up, stretching and ensuring his wooden shield was properly secured to his right arm. “We will find this man and correct this tragedy!” His voice boomed to the various invisible victims, motioning for Altan to lead the way.

The Fanalis would nod towards the giant, she was glad that the Imuchakk was fired up to end the tragedy of the poor invisible people. As the Fanalis leading the way, she had a thought in her mind and she was kind of grateful that she had explored Kou’s area since it turned out to be very useful for this special mission. How long has it been since the last time she did a job with someone else, well, she did fight together with this one eyed man before but that was very sudden and it was like they had to do it to ensure the safety of the civilians at the hospital. Then there was this strange, clumsy monk… she wondered where he might be at the moment since she never heard about him anymore although she actively explore Kou’s road every day.

The redhead would focus on leading the way and wouldn’t really talk as she concentrate, unless Barra talked to her. It was not too far from the inn, but the distance was enough to for a mere human to lose some breath if they travelled to the ruins by walking or running. “We are here.” The Fanalis whispered to Barra, wanting to avoid catching the dog’s or magician’s attention. Although… that was what she was hoping to happen. Yet, it happened so sudden and Altan who had a good instinct and managed to dodge, couldn’t really prevent this invisible thing from biting her arm. Yeah, the unseen creature slipped, but blood was dripping from the wound. “It must be the dog.” The redhead said to the giant as she tried to locate the dog by looking around and feel the presence.

“The mage might be close too and might be invisible…” The redhead said as she tried to think of the way to catch the dog and knock it out. There was a good idea but she had to injure herself again…but it was better than nothing. She could feel the presence of the dog coming towards her, but this time she didn’t dodge it and let the dog bite her arm again before sending a basic punch on the invisible dog. It seemed that it was a success since she could hear a whimper and as if something was falling on the ground.

Now that the dog was down, it was time to beat the mage. It would be hard because she didn’t know where the mage could be since he was invisible. But someone was helpful enough to scream and moreover, yelling at her for beating the dog. That can only be one option… the mage, and he came by himself towards Altan. He must really love his dog… fortunately the fury creature was still alive although it was just unconscious, but the redhead would use this as an opportunity to provoke the mage even more. Altan would locate the whimpering sound coming from the dog and as she take a step forward towards the sound, the mage suddenly send a lightning towards the girl. The girl would ready her arrow and shot it towards the mage although the lightning was much faster, making the shot not really working and the lightning ball managed to hit the Fanalis. It was hurt, but the Fanalis didn’t want to waste time and she would begin to prepare her arrow and quickly cast and sustain the crystal rain towards where the mage would be before sending 10 arrows, shot towards to sky to make a raining arrow, hoping one of the arrows could hit the mage.

“Akh! ” The sound of the mage’s painful scream indicated that Altan strategy was working and she was pretty happy about it, the mage was no longer invisible as well as the dog. Perhaps he was running out of Magoi to keep his magic as 2 arrows and 1 shard managed to stop him. “Turn everyone back to normal… or I will teach you another lesson…” Altan said, giving a sharp glare towards the mage in pain which was quickly done by the mage himself, out of fear of being hurt again. After sending the mage to the authority and explained the situation about his crime, they would make sure that the mage wouldn’t have access to his wand ever again to not make any trouble. Moreover, the invisible people got back to normal and they gave Altan a token of gratitude for releasing them from the curse.
