Job Details:

A stamp pressed ink onto a piece of paper before the document was handed over to an excited looking young man. This was the deed to the Koval Estate and acknowledgement that he was the official owner of the land.    It was something he had been working towards for most of his short life and to finally have it in his hands filled Zion with joy. Excited to settle in back at his father's lab tower, the young magician left Magnostadt's east gate and hurried off to make his home coming.

A simple white flying carpet was gifted to Zion in congratulations for passing the Kodor exam from Casvallion. The young magician used this to soar off towards the horizon leaving the city far behind. Somehow Zion felt that he could even see lights already on in the tower, as if his father would be there waiting for his return. Unfortunately, as Zion got closer he started to realize that he wasn't seeing things. There was a light in the distance but instead of the distant light of a lantern it was more like a bonfire. Something wasn't right...

Willing the carpet to hurry onward with the most hast it could muster, Zion quickly closed the distance between himself and the estate allowing him to arrive in time to find a group of raiders pillaging his home. The torches some of them held made it clear who the arsonists were here. The sight struck Zion was both grief and rage. He landed his carpet into the fire light revealing himself to the raiders. His white ropes and silvery hair fluttered gently in the wind as he descended with a look of spite in his eyes.

Noticing the sudden arrival of an obvious magician due to the staff Zion held, one of the raiders made a loud cry that sounded like an eagle. The other raiders turned to pay attention and naturally moved to circle Zion on their horses. This was a group of hunters that had grown up together and their teamwork was fluid. Zion simply stood in the middle of them shifting his eyes about to keep track of the riders that had bows. He could see at least two of them mixed in with the spear and sword wielding raiders.

"Why have you come here!? Why set fire to my home!"

Despite being surrounded and outnumbered Zion stood his ground. Hardened by his three months at the academy where everyone was a potential enemy and the dangers of combat were drilled into his body, Zion felt confident even when pressured by such a situation. Surrounded and outnumbered was the norm for a training session with Casvallion Deikraft. His bravery evoked mixed responses from the raiders. A couple snickered finding his defiance to be a joke, another leveled a silent murderous gaze at the magician. But their leader seemed to find the kids spunk amusing so he grinned and decided to indulge in a love of his own voice.

"We don't have anything personal against you kid. But you see, we got paid reeeeeaaaaal good money to trash this old tower. Food's been scarce lately and me and my boys have to eat, ya know? With the fortune they are giving us we can abandon these shitty plains and go live like kings in balbadd. I've heard you can even buy women there!"

"Mmph, mmph." Majora grunted as he limbered his body in rhythmic motions that stretched the fibers of his muscles. The young-looking man had a single leg extended, nearly parallel over the blades of grass with his heel dug into the dirt. All of his weight was on his other foot, bent into a squat. Majora grunted as he bounced himself to extend his limbs even further. The statue-esque frame was exposed to the elements, which only served to accentuate his glimmering body.

Majora finished his morning routine, something that he had spent many of the last years doing. Now, he was onto the next part of his routine, to travel the lands of the plains to seek out more tribes. To see what his kinsman were up to, to truly understand the state of disrepair that had been cast upon his people. With a deep breath, he wandered to wherever the gods sent him.

His feet lead him to follow in the suns trail. Majora traveled for many miles and hours in the same direction, but at long last he stumbled into something in the horizon. A great pyre was looming, he couldn't quite tell it was. Perhaps, there was another tribe celebrating in the distance celebrating. With that, Majora was reinvigorated to travel there for the sake of the feast, he could already picture the scene. A rib, full of meat and some fermented drink, such as mead, the combination of sweet, savoriness and tartness just made him salivate. The blonde wiped a drop of saliva gathering at the corner of his grinning lips.

As he got closer to the event, he realized he was nearing the magician academy. But this wasn't it, nor was this a tribe. It had seemed to be the type of raiders that would occasionally attack the plain settlements and tribe for the spoils, such as their goods and their people. Majora wasn't a great fighter, in fact, no one would even call him a good fighter. However, he couldn't help but sate his hunger for revenge against these devious people.

Majora glanced at what was happening, they seemed to be destroying the place for no reason. A fact that Majora could hardly comprehend. Then a man on a flying rug swept in claiming it was his home.

'A flying man... he must be a magician.'

The odds were unfair against the newcomer, and these bastards could definitely use a lesson. He gave the conflict a few moment to see how he would perhaps intervene. But just from the way they spoke, he couldn't contain himself any longer.

Majora rose to his feet... and his pants slipped down. But that didn't stop him. "GOFUCKYOURSELF, ASSHOLE." The man had a fist-sized rock in his grip. He took a windup step, simultaneously slipping his ankle from his bottomwear and pitched the rock. The group of raiders were surprised and then stunned by the comical stunt, until the rock smashed into one of the archers faces. Bloody nose and falling onto his back completely unconcious.

It was only at this point where Majora realized he was fully nude. "Shit."

The words of their leader made the nature of these men clear. They were scoundrels of an even lower sort than the crooks at the marketplace. At least those men weren't willing to stab a blade into someone for a quick profit. In all honesty however, Zion wasn't sure his response would have changed even if each man begged for forgiveness. Just when the young magician had heard enough and was about to act, a stone flew from outside the encirclement and smacked one of the boy wielding men off his horse. The sneak attack was accompanied by a vulgar shout that was full of heated passion. Everyone present turned to see where the clump of earth had come from only to see a naked boy whom seemed to be just realizing how exposed he was.

"GET THEM!"

One of the Sword Raiders shouted, kicking the beast beneath him into action. A spearman followed suit as the two broke off from the encirclement to target Skullkid. The leader of the Raider grit his teeth in annoyance as he shouted, Volley on the magician! The remaining bowman took aim and unleashed an arrow at Zion, but the magician simply let the arrow bounce off of his borg leaving behind a mere crack. The leader charged towards Zion raising his sword for a Slash but that too failed to penetrate Zion's shield of magoi, though the borg did shatter from the blow.

The final attack was to come from the remaining spearman who charged in for a Stab. But he was too slow and Zion's borg had already bought him all the time he needed. As the raiders started their attack he began to reach for his back where an elegant silver and black rifle rested. By the time the first arrow landed Zion had already pulled the trigger and fired a Nightmare Bullet into the ground. The bulled turned into eight small dog-sized dolls to appear. Each one looked slightly like Zion but more monstrous as they bared sharp fangs and claws as they emerged from a dark shadow the bullet had created. At the moment the Borg shattered, these little nightmares pounced outwards shrieking like demons.

The raiders horses were immediately spooked and three raiders focusing on Zion were spooked off their horses meanwhile, those headed for Skullkid were forced to rear back in fear from the sound of the gunshot. "Wh-What they hell are these thing!?" the bowman cried out as he scrambled to his feet. It's just a magic illusion! Ignore them! It's just a bluff to keep us away, the magician's borg is already broke-AAARGH!." The leader began to berate his men for their fear but his speech was cut short as one of the nightmare jumped onto his face and began to bite at his face as though it were hungry for flesh. Chomp, chomp, chomp. The nightmares were too numerous and although the archer shot one and the Spearman stabbed another, both of them were unable to resist once the nightmares sunk their teeth into them.

The horrified screams and shouting would surely reach over to Skullkid. Zion was already looking his direction with the rifle at the ready in case he was in need of help.

Majora realized that two of the melee raiders on horseback were going after him. Now after his outburst, he was going to have to run away since he wasn't ready for conflict. However, Majora was thinking of all the time he spent training and exercising over the last few decades, perhaps he was more ready for this than he realized. The man began to run away.

FLOP*

Majora tripped, falling flat right onto the floor with a thud. The wind was knocked out of him, which only encouraged the raiders to spur their horses on faster. Majora missed everything that happened with the magician but he rose back to his feet, his pants had the beginnings of scuff marks, and his face was dirtied with the mud asymmetrically across his face. He got to his feet as fast he could and he noticed now the raiders were being scared from the commotion across the battlefield, which would give him enough time to react to them.

As the reigned back their horses, Majora charged towards them in a sprinters stance, as he accelerated to his max speed, first targeting the swordsman. Noticing the blade was in the swordsman's right, Majora charged straight towards the raider who didn't have the sense to pivot in advance. Majora jump holding onto the reigns and swung himself onto the horse, kicking the rider in the ribs to knock him off simultaneously.

Majora didn't have any experience riding the horse but he saw what the men were doing, but as he pulled on the reigns and kicked his heels into the horses ribs. Unfortunately, during this the horse happened to catch sight of the nightmareish dogs and having never seen them before it was spooked beyond consolement. It stood on its hind legs, and his grip on the reigns slipped as he rolled back into the dirt.

The horse vanished by the time, he came to his senses, but then the spearman raider began to charge at him at full speed with his spear. Majora was still out of sorts and couldn't see what was happening, all he saw was a figure and the sounds of drums, but when he realized it was the horse and spear, with the sound of hooves coming at him, he was stabbed straight through the shoulder and was impaled into the dirt by the spear.

The spearman having lost his weapon, decided to get off his mount. His horse stayed for the moment, but was definitely anxious. The raider came and stood over Majora, looking down on him. He spit straight onto his face, the fluid landing on Majora's cheek. The tribal raider stepped on Majora's chest as he gripped the rod with both hands and pulled it out, which caused the naked man to unleash more blood from his wound. Majora winced in pain, but then began to laugh. After all his time as a hermit, away from people, to die like this.

Zion was unclear as to the identity of the mysterious helper. The arrogance of youth led the magician to believe he could have handled everything without any interference, but the gesture of justice would not go unappreciated. Zion readied his rifle and looked down the sight to find the last man standing with his spear stabbed into the shoulder of strange boy that had spoken out and thrown the rock. "If he didn't know how to fight, why did he get involved?" Zion thought to himself as his finger came to rest upon the trigger with a dose of magoi flowing into the rifle. The magoi became a bullet which fired out with another loud bang only to draw a grim arc through the air before crashing into the back of the spearman's head.

The spearman tumbled forward from the force of the impact bringing his spear with him as it was pulled free of Skullkid's shoulder. "What hit me..." The raider said in surprise as he rubbed the back of his head feeling no pain. Confusion was soon replaced with fear however as a nightmare formed from the man's own mind took shape before his very eyes. It was a monstrous beast that looked like some kind of thrice reanimated bear from the netherworld. Skin was sloughing off exposed bone as unnaturally large and sharp teeth flashed in the night. Pure terror was expressed to the height of the man's lung capacity before the nightmare bit his head off in a single chomp rendering the raider silent.

Zion still hadn't moved from his spot, but now that all the enemies had been neutralized he lowered his rifle before returning it to his back. There was a light tremor in Zion's hands as he had never killed before now and the weight of the act was being justified in his head over and over. "It was kill or be killed...and they deserved it too...so why do I feel so...sick?" The young magician silently thought to himself before looking around. The screams had stopped once the nightmares chewed the men to death and with the last dying echoes of the final spearmans death wail, the night became quiet. The crackling of the flames above and the chirping of insects became the ambient soundtrack as Zion slowly walked towards Skullkind.

The white haired doll would extend his hand to help Skullkid up or simply to shake his hand if the boy already had that covered. "Thank's for your help. My name is Zion Koval, what's yours?"

Life was flashing before his eyesas he imagined the man finishing him off in a single strike, but something caught his attention. A true monster appeared and ended his life within second. The mere imagery caused a chill to crawl over his skin. But at least now he was alive... was it worth it? Majora wasn't very big on philosophical question so he brushed the thoughts until he saw the person who had lost his home.

Majora reached for the helpinghand and rose onto his feet with a smile. This was one of the few people he had seen let alone interacted with over the last few decades. His pupils widened for a bit and a creepy, distorted grin crept along his face but then he began waaailing.

"Hmm, mmph... WAAAAAAAH.W-w-waaaah~" He couldn't introduce himself but he shook hands with complete sincerity, his other hand over their fist, despite his shoulder injury.
