Magical Berries:

Items/Pets Brought:

Only about a week had past since Rima and Diana's struggle against that serial killer. They were planning on going to Kou soon, but before they did that they wanted to get a bit stronger first. "God...I'm so bored!" Rima said as she rode upon Pluto's back along with Diana. Set, Rima's new bat companion was roosting on her head as she rocked back and fourth. This irritated the poor bat, so he took off to search for a new resting place, landing on Diana's shoulder.

As they continued to go forward, Rima used her hand to block the sunlight out of her eyes. "Oooh I think I see a town!" she yelled with joy in her voice. Rima was usually quite patient getting from place to place, but since they had Pluto to carry them everywhere...she found herself bored easily, and sleeping much more often.

Beast's Brought:

xxxxxx It took a long time for Diana to get over the dream about her father. She spent it in the fields; away from Rima to give herself space. There were a lot of long nights where all she did was sit there and talk to the wind, letting it carry her words to him in the afterlife. Rima and herself eventually met back up in the town. Her friend had gotten a bit stronger, she could tell. Diana apologized for her rotten behavior and they went on their way again together. The day was still young and the warm sun peeked out behind the clouds. Diana shut her eyes and took a deep breath. "It's beautiful out today," she whispered, leaning down on top of Pluto as he carried them along the trade road. Diana was quite fond of Rima's new pet. It was cute and like nothing she'd ever seen before. A bat, awake during the day was something to be excited about. She let the bat perch on her shoulder, it reminded her of Bellona when she was just a chick.

xxxxxx "Hm? A town?" she asked, sitting back up again to see what was ahead of them. It was a small town by a harbor and yet bordered by a sparce forest. There was farmland and also  Diana could hear the bustle from where they were. "It seems to be doing well for itself," she said as they approached a small market area at the beginning of the town. Diana got off Pluto, grabbing him by the mane to act as a leash. "You can stay on," she said to her friend as they walked. Diana just needed to make sure Pluto wouldn't bite anyone. He was big enough now to kill a man if he wanted and his temper wasn't exactly in check yet. A familiar scent enveloped the air as they passed by a few the fish market. Many fisherman had their fresh catches up for sale already. Out of curiosity, she followed her nose to a stall which was selling fish eggs. They were quite the delicacy back at home in the city but here at the port they were a dime a dozen. Quickly digging through her pockets she managed to scrounge up enough money to buy some.

xxxxxx They then went on their way to explore the farm land. Diana always loved visiting farmers with livestock every now and then. It was something she wanted to do if she ever settled down and got married but it was unlikely. They arrived at a large farm with horses and other animals. Diana stopped at one of the fences to pet a cow, they were one of her favorite animals due to how loving they were. "Rima, what are your plans after you find this killer?" she inquired, looking over at her. She was quite curious as to what her friend would want after she found the masked man. Rima never seemed to talk about it and she felt close enough to her now to ask. They've been on the brink of death together after all.

Weapons Brought:

Julius had been on a nice bed of hay. His head was rested on a comfy warm pillow. He was wrapped in a comfy wool blanket. He was surrounded by big strong walls that protected him from the chilly breezes that the night brought about, this was truly heaven. With a sudden throb of the head, the salty dog awoke. His eyes remained shut due to the sudden pain. His face turned into that of one who was constipated. He clenched his teeth, hard, trying to null some of the pains that throbbed within his head. He groaned wearily at all the signs that pointed directly to hangover. He breathed out as his eyes slowly opened, allowing him to scan the area.

Well, heaven comes from different perspectives. He was in a barn, resting his head on a pigs belly which promptly stood up and walked away upon Julius sitting upwards. In his right hand was a glass bottle, most likely once filled with Rum. He groaned once more as his head throbbed again. He could only guess what happened last night for him to end up in a place like this. That bottle of rum was full the last time he saw it. He could only regret doing things such as that after the heat of the moment has passed, not while people around him cheer him on. However, remembering the past was to hard on his head, so he decided to forget the idea. The future is forward after all.

With a little effort, the pirate got to his feet. In the corner of his eye, he saw a wooden bucket with metal bindings filled with water. He waddled over to it and took a kneel, looking at his own reflection within the water. Handsome as always, he cupped his hands, dipped them into the water, and threw it into his face with a splash. His head spun as he sloppily made his way to the barn door, harshly sliding it open. Julius was so out of it, he hadn't even realized he was only in his trousers. To add onto it, two women had been standing not too far from where he was. He was in plain sight. Virgil raised a hand and scratched the side of his neck as he took a few more steps until he was fully embraced by the sun. Upon seeing the two, one petting a cow. He raised an arm and threw a wave at them as a signature cheeky grin crawled upon his face.

Rima took a long deep breath taking in the country air, only the get choked on the strong smell of animal and feces. She began to let out a rough cough as she walked towards Diana who was petting a baby cow. She stopped a moment to think about what her friend had asked her. "Well...I'm not too sure..." she said looking down at the ground. "I've devoted so much of my life just to get the smallest clue to the guy...just to find out he's most likely still in Kou. I guess I must have just been too scared to actually go back." She held out her hand, letting Set land on it. "Maybe, I could try actually finding that special someone." she let out a snort, laughing at the idea.

Their conversation was ended quickly as a she noticed a scruffy looking man stumble his way towards them, waving his arm around like a total fool. Rima let out loud laugh before clasping her hands around her mouth, trying to silence herself. The guy looked ridiculous as he made his way towards them. She finally managed to calm herself down and waved back at him. "Hey there!...Who exactly are you?" she said with a confused expression on her face. 'What did this guy want from them? He looked like some old drunk...' she thought to herself, giving Diana a look of concern.

xxxxxx Rima was a lot more calm about it than Diana originally suspected. Her calm demeanor about the question was comforting. She just listened to what she had to say, nodding as she did so. Diana was quite understanding when it came to the subject. "Sometimes the smallest clue leads to the biggest discoveries," she said, her eyes glistening as she gazed into the distance and smirking. It was the most clever thing she'd thought of so far during her adventures. She quickly took out one of her many books, writing the quote down. "A special someone, huh?" she pondered, leaning on the fence in front of her. The thought reminded her of someone back at home. A friend she visited while she was recovering.

xxxxxx Diana looked up from the cow only to see a scruffy man walking out of the barn in his undergarments. Pluto let out a low warning growl at him. She saw this man didn't pose much of a threat to them practically naked so she stopped his behavior by petting him. "What is he? A pervert?" she wondered aloud, weakly waving back at him. Her nose scrunched up at his scent, she could smell him from here. He reeked of the barn he just came out of, strong alcohol, and the sea. "A freeloader maybe," she mumbled, trying to decipher who or even what he was. Diana placed a hand on Rima's head and squatted down to her level. "Maybe that's the man you're looking for," her tone was serious but she was obviously joking. Her flat expression struggling to prevent herself from snickering like a fox.

Julius, still unaware of his half-naked body, stood still, as he brought a hand to his face, rubbing his scruffy chin, trying to figure out why the woman in the purple hair was giggling. Was it him? He answered his own question by looking down. His grin quickly turned into a frown. He didn't blame the girl, he'd laugh too if he saw someone like this, walking out of a farmstead. Julius must've been flat-out stupid for him not to notice the massive dog right next to the pair. Although he couldn't hear the growls, he certainly noticed, the half-hostile aura that circled around the beast. It was enough to scare him to take a couple steps back into the barn.

Closing the farm doors behind him, he decided on getting dressed and ready. Upon turning around to begin his search for his clothes, he was greeted by a big meaty body, blocking his way. He ran right into the man. When Julius looked up to see who it was, his body half-resting on the one he laid on, the man, who was most likely the farmer, looked down. The farmer didn't look too happy about Julius' being there. He was a big, ugly, tanned fella. He didn't look like one you'd want to tango with in a bar fight. Julius gave a nervous chuckle as the farmer reached a hand down and wrapped it around Julius' neck in a tight, yet not threatening grip and slightly lifted the pirate off the ground. It wasn't tight enough to choke him however.

The farmer then proceeded to walk forwards, making the ground shake, before ramming open one of the barn doors with his free hands and throwing Julius out onto the ground. Julius landed face-first into the dirt, arms to his sides, behind in the air, and he was kneeling. His garb and sword were thrown out of the barn in his direction afterwards. His head spun rightfully. Julius slowly regained his balance, shook his head so it'd fly back into the place it's supposed to be, and stood up. He spit a wad of saliva to the side, trying to clear the mouthful of dirt he'd gotten a taste of.

"If you ever come back you filthy mongrel, I'll kill you!" echoed out of the barn. Julius was facing the barn when he acknowledged this. The pirate turned around once more only to see the two girls that were taunting him before, were still there. His face turned stoic as he quickly went to gather his things. He slipped his clothes on behind a barrel, trying to make it so he didn't seem that shameless. His baggy shirt was covered in dirt, which he wiped off with an even dirtier hand. He clipped his sword on his belt as he strode away from the barn, and up the dirt driveway which led to the road. He slowly approached the two girls, wary of the dog that might eat him if he got too close.

Rima started to blush after Diana said that, pushing a lock of hair behind her ear. "Oh shut up!" she said with an embarrassed tone. The man before them was an incredibly strange sight, other than him being half-naked he was also being yelled at by the farmer who owned the place. Rima was scratching her head out of confusion with one hand, and had the other hand close to her new wand...just in case he had foul intentions. "Hey Diana, you're an expert with animals right? What do you call that one." she said jokingly, laughing at her own joke. Eventually, the man finally made it to them in all of his gloriousness. Things were made awkward by the sudden quiet atmosphere he had brought. "So...I assume you aren't the farmer looking for help... So, who exactly are you?"

Suddenly, the loud bellowing of an animal in pain could be heard from the farm. This caused a cold sweat to go down Rima's neck, as she could not stand the sound of an animal in pain. Set flew around Rima's head signaling he wanted to go under her hat, so she let him hide under it. "Uh, what the hell do you guys think that was?" she questioned both Diana, and the new strange half-naked man who had joined them.

xxxxxx Diana watched the man as he scurried down the road to retreat from the barn. She shook her head at Rima, "Not sure." Pluto had lost interest in the man, going off to relieve himself by the bushes. The man came close enough for them to see him relatively up close. He seemed like your average traveler or perhaps... a sailor? Judging by his attire she couldn't really tell. Though she was certain he wouldn't cause any trouble for the two. "You're not from Reim?" she asked, simply curious to hear who this man was. She didn't ask for his name or anything as Rima had already begun to pry into such details. Pluto began barking as the sound of a dying animal became audible. The bushes were rustling wildly and then suddenly stopped.

xxxxxx "Agh! Not ag'in!" yelled a strange voice from afar. Diana turned her head to observe who was making such a commotion only to see a farmer walking out of the barn. "Ey! Yer adventurers-- or hunters, eh?" he asked. Diana nodded and looked back towards the bushes momentarily. "Yeh got a big dog, eh? How 'bout he eat some of them there bush monsters. I'll giv' ya somethin' for yer troubles," he offered, resting a pitchfork over his shoulders. The man seemed quite capable of dealing with these things by himself but there seemed to be quite a bit of them inside the small grove. "Sure," replied Diana in a normal tone as the man approached the fence. "Some weirdo came through here n' made all the wild bushes come alive," he spit some saliva towards Julius, "N' I told ya to git!"

xxxxxx The farmer looked as if he was ready to attack the man with his pitchfork but Diana placed her hand on his arm. "Don't worry, I'll make sure he leaves after I help you," she assured him; he grunted and went back to tend to his livestock. Diana had remembered seeing a warning about these monsters before they arrived. "Pluto," she called. Pluto backed off from the bushes, snarling as they started to rustle again. Diana decided she'd sit this one out herself, grabbing her book to record data about these living bushes. It wasn't weird for her to see strange creatures such as this so she was a bit excited to discover a new species. "What should we call these, hm? I wonder if they lay eggs..." she mumbled, tapping her finger against her chin. The bushes finally made their appearance, screeching at the group.

Julius approached slowly and carefully, due to the threatening glares from the dog. The growls and the ooze that dripped from it’s maw didn’t look too good for his health. He was instantly relieved however when the dog had went to go do his business on a bush. To face these girls after they’d seen what happened to him was a bold move. Hopefully, he wouldn’t get laughed at too hard. He saw them giggling on his way up here after all. The salty dog wouldn’t blame them for it after all of it, he’d do the same in that situation.

“My name is Julius Virgil, at yer service,” the pirate said as he took a long bow in greetings. “I am not a farmer, but a sailor, who mistakenly slumbered here rather than at his home, savvy?” he continued, giving them a slight grin whilst putting his hands upon his hips. Hopefully this story would muster up some time to hold them at bay for now. He didn’t want to answer more questions that he had to, at least not until this blasted headache was gone.

Thankfully, his prayers were answered. A cry had been heard. It didn’t sound human, and it’d come from the direction of the barn, so Julius could only guess that it was a pained animal. Topics were quickly changed from who Julius was to what that noise could be. The farmer soon answered that question. Julius backed away from the farmer upon the pitchfork being pointed towards him. His grin turned into a frown real quick as he slowly backed away from the farmer. The dogs handler calmed him down thankfully enough. The sailor was thankful when the farmer went back to his livestock rather than harassing him.

“Living berry bushes.” Virgil hadn’t ever thought of that one. He didn’t know what to expect. He couldn’t really imagine plants walking around and killing things. It sorta surprised him, what surprised him even more was the fact that the girl who’d most likely just saved his sorry behind from a farmer who would’ve made him fertilizer’s solution to this problem was to create a document to describe this creature. “Are you doing what I think you’re doing?” the pirate questioned with a quirked eyebrow. His question wouldn’t receive an answer however.

These plants came running from the fields, all screeching at the group at the top of their lunges. It actually sort of hurted Julius’ ears based on how loud the screeches were. The pirate was quick to react, he drew his one cutlass from its confinements. With a dash forwards, he landed infront of one of the bushes, preparing and executing a basic slash which came crashing down upon the plants vines. However the dull sword would hardly be able to put a scratch on the greens the vines came with. The only scratch that was placed was the vines scraping against his sword.

“Oh boy, this ain’t good,” Julius muttered as he backed up a little, maintaining a defensive stance.

Set, Rima's pet fruit bat quickly took cover underneath the Magician's large hat. "What the hell are those?" she said backing away as the living plants came closer towards them. The bush on the far right quickly began to charge towards Rima, firing its Exploding Berry Barrage her way. The berries were shot in multiple directs towards the group of people, exploding near Rima but possibly hitting one of her nearby companions as well. However, Rima had been through too much to get hit by such a basic attack, so she took a quick dash to the left avoiding all of the explosions near her.

Rima eyed the half-naked man once again, still confused that he was actually fighting alongside them. "We'll be fine by ourselves. Get out of here if you don't want to get hurt!" Rima directed towards the pirate. Saying this, she quickly withdrew her wand and pointed it towards the aggressive berry bush coming her way. "You look like a plant...so you'll most likely burn like a plant as well! Mamnue Alshshams!" The magician cried out, causing a sphere of fire to shoot out towards the plant. As the ball of fire got closer to its target, it kept expanding in size.

The plant was engulfed in the flames, but part of it flew out of the fire towards Rima. Rima blocked the fiery enemy with her wand as it attempted to Chomp her. She let out a sigh and looked back towards the living bushes, there were only three left but they were a lot stronger than she had anticipated.

xxxxxx The display of courage the man showed was impressive but Diana didn't pay too much attention to either him or Rima. Her attention was immersed in her book. Pluto's hair stood up as his skin curled. He wanted to rip into whatever those things were but was awaiting his master's command. The dog barked at Diana to catch her attention. No matter what they prey he wasn't planning to miss out on this one. Diana sighed, motioning her hand, "Attack-- only the bushes." She was afraid if she didn't make herself clear he would try to make a meal out of Julius. Rima was safe from the beast for he'd already warmed up to her quite a bit.

xxxxxx Pluto jumped into the area, ripping apart one of the bushes with a strong basic bite. The scraps of the monster twitched on the ground but couldn't do much without the core of the plant. He tried eating the remains but spit them out realizing they weren't made of meat. "Inruo," commanded Diana, curious to see how fragile they were. Pluto geared himself backwards before crashing head first into one of the larger bushes. It shattered into pieces but it only created two more. "Well then," mumbled Diana, jotting the information down in her journal. Pluto managed to kill another one with a basic slice before trying to bite at another one which was circling around his legs.

Julius' defensive stance was suddenly interrupted as the exploding berry barrage meant for Roma had him in the area of effect. On instinct, he dived in the opposite direction to dodge the ability. Julius landed flat on his back. He raised his head to see the dust cloud that the explosion from the bushes had created. This made him thank his reaction speeds. His head throbbed hard however, and something told him these bushes weren't to be messed with. With one swift fluent motion, Julius hopped off the ground and landed on his two feet. It was when Rima suggested he retreat when he decided to stay. What kind of Gentleman leaves two women to fight his battles. To that, the pirate chuckled.

"I'm sorry, but I'm not the type of man who leaves two pretty women to fight for him," the sailor replied, raising his sword once more. Julius lunged forward, sword over his shoulder as he performed a basic attack upon the bush he'd attacked the first time. However, instead of it doing anything once more, it simply caught his sword in its grasp, winding a vine around it and attempting to shake it from his grasp. The plant shrieked as it did. Julius fought valiantly with the plant who surprisingly didn't use any abilities against the pirate point blank. His arm was thrown all about but he wasn't about to lose his sword. He pulled with all his might. He ended up kicking the plant a couple times, which ended up him getting his foot caught as well. The plant let go of his sword, but instead used chomp on Julius' foot. The thorns dug deep within Julius' boot, impaling his skin. It'd felt like he stepped on a thick-spiked cactus.

"Ow, dammit!" The pirate shouted, as he tried to shake the plant off his foot. He used his sword to try and chop the plant to pieces, but to no avail. He'd only managed to chop a few vines apart, the plant hadn't seemed phased by it however.

Rima smiled slightly at the courageous pirate, he might not have been incredibly strong but she had to give him some credit. "You have balls, you ol' pervert." she said with a giggle. Rima ran over to Julius quickly using a Bludgeoning strike to finish off the plant clinging to his foot. "Diana, if you want go ahead and capture one...but I'm sick of these things." The magician pointed her wand to the ground, dust and other miscellaneous particles began to collect in a single spot. Black mist began to appear out of nowhere underneath her feet, creating what looked to be a black vortex.

The Grudge Manifest came out of the portal covered in blue flames. It let out a loud screeching sound as it quickly dashed towards the plants, bashing one of them with its fist, completely destroying the plant. Rima then snapped her fingers, causing the manifestation to burst into a large blue flame, destroying two of the surrounding creatures. "I left one alive for you Diana, you know if you want to check it out and all that." Rima said smiling towards her dear friend. She then eyed the perverted sailor once more. "So, I'm Rima it's nice to meetcha!" she said with a warm grin on her face. The magician then sat down on a nearby stump and let Set fly out from underneath her hat. The small bat was dancing on her hand trying to tell Rima that he was hungry. She then opened her bag and pulled out a blueberry to give to him.

xxxxxx Diana watched as the fight went on, the bushes becoming absolutely obliterated by Rima's magic. It was amusing to say the least. "I don't think I'll keep it," she said, nodding at Pluto to finish it off. He didn't seem too enthusiastic about the idea but he finished it off with a basic bite. The bush screamed in agony before falling into little pieces. "Hmph," she scoffed, looking over in the farmers direction. Diana was startled by the man suddenly being right behind her. "Hahahaha! Y'ladies did a good job!" he laughed, putting his hand on Diana's head. He handed her a small pouch full of gold. "Fer yer troubles," he said, suddenly glaring over at Julius. "N' ya call yerself a man! Git out of here!" he yelled, shooing the pirate away with his hand.

xxxxxx Pluto spit out the bushes remains and snarled at Julius. "Enough," said Diana, walking over to Julius to give him a few coins. The farmer was out of sight now so she knew he wouldn't put up a fuss. "Here, you helped too," she said, handing him his share with a little bit more for his troubles. "Rima, we should keep moving," she said. Diana grabbed Pluto by the mane and began walking away. She was no longer interested in being here any longer. Julius had been focusing on getting the wild-berry bush off his foot. So when the spikes suddenly retracted due to a swift club bashing from the mage. He’d been thankful. The pain was getting more intense as he tried to wriggle it off of his boot. The spikes only dug deeper. He raised his head and gave her a smile as she dashed away. His eyes popped out of his skull however upon seeing the spell she casted about a second later. The pirate half expected for him to be sucked into the vortex himself. It sort of, knocked his socks off.

Julius pursed his lips to reply with his own name, stuttering like a madman. “J-J-Julius,” he muttered before blinking and fixing his face. The other girl was suddenly emptying some coins into his hand. He wouldn’t turn them down, but he simply stayed in a single pose and began walking in the opposite direction. "Maybe I should try learning how to create monster plants." she said giggling at the thought, walking back towards Pluto and Diana. She adjusted the bag on her back and climbed on top of the large beast. She let out a sigh as she laid back on Pluto and looked up to the sky.
